The guy who owns the beach house was friendly and welcoming. In fact he couldn't of been anymore accommodating.
Considering the price we paid we were more than happy with the service.
The rooms and bathroom were slightly small. That was the only downfall

We were left standing outside for a while as the doorbell wasn't working. The room was warm, the bath was large and there was plenty of hot water. However inadequate attention to details: no bins provided in bedroom or bathroom, nowhere to hang towels, no bath mat, no mirror in front of the bathroom sink, no spare blankets. The toilet was stained. A small pain au chocolat, a banana, box of raisins and carton of apple juice was left in the room which I think was breakfast.

This is our third visit back to The Beach House - and won't be our last - next year cant come quick enough. We stayed for four nights.
This time we stayed in a different room, a family room on the first floor with an en-suite. Tastefully decorated as is the rest of the B & B with Free wifi - a docking system and good size TV on wall. Clean and welcoming and had the nicest view over the sea front.
Warwick and the girls as ever were welcoming when we came down to breakfast. Choices were good and the home made bread is just amazing. Started off with a pot of tea, and some freshly cut fruit and then chose the Full English each day and was always nicely cooked and hot. You were never rushed and they were always chatty - its a lovely atmosphere.
We are proposing on making an autumn visit to see the seafront once all the work is done - we would not stay anywhere else now and tell all our friends about it - quite a few have stayed and agreed with us :)
Thanks for a great holiday Beach House and see you soon :)

we stayed at the beach house over the weekend to celebrate armed forces day, our host warwick could not do enough for us. we arrive early, and he looked after our bags and helmets so we could go to meet friends.
the room was comfy with some very nice cushions! and had all we needed in it.
all the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast set us up for the long trip home.
I have to say, we wished we could have stayed longer!

Stayed here one night.
Very friendly and helpful host.
The room was spacious and satisfactory. There are steep stairs to negotiate.
Good location on the sea front but quiet at night.
Breakfast was ample.

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night- would have happily stayed longer!! We arrived to find we had been upgraded to a room with en-suite instead of shared bathroom etc. The owner did explain the B&B was still work in progress and some bits still need attention but that did not matter at all as his honesty was more important! The room was lovely, all done in chabby chic boaty style, large tv,chocolates and towels to match the boaty theme. The bed was comfortable too! Free parking right outside was another bonus! The breakfast was amazing- homemade breads , home made marmalade, I had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, best scrambled eggs ever! Nothiing was too much trouble for them, and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome- all we can say is- we shall be back! Thank you for a lovely stay :)

Basic, value-for-money bed and breakfast. Easy to find and park (either on-street or pay and display opposite b and b). Large room with sea view. Nice TV and free wi-fi. Friendly owner. Delicious breakfast served in pretty seaside-themed room. There was even home-made bread! These are the main plus points.
So, now the not-so good. The b and b is clearly a 'work in progress' with much of the work still to be be finished, and indeed started. Our room was very old-fashioned and dated. The curtains were useless as a means of keeping out the light. The shared shower facilities were either a flight of stairs up or down. The 're-furbished' shower room looked nice but is in the basement and I didn't fancy the trip down in my nightie! The one on the top floor was ok but I was reminded yet again why wet-rooms are, generally, a very bad idea, especially as there was nowhere to hang anything up.
The toilet cubicle on our floor had no hand-basin; I can't believe this is even legal! The towels were very old and dingy, and the bedding 'tired'. There were various cleanliness issues and the housekeeping patchy.
Having said all this, none of it ruined our stay or caused major problems. Most of the issues could have been resolved at minimal cost to the owners ie. a few hooks and a bin in the shower room, some new towels and bedding whilst the rooms are awaiting re-furbishment.
As I mentioned, the breakfast was delicious and definitely the best bit of our stay.
If you want and expect 'boutique luxury', look elsewhere. For basic bed and breakfast, then certainly don't rule out The Beach House.

We booked through Booking.com. The pictures and reviews were very flattering to this place. We arrived to find the place, not ready, very dark and literally if not fit for habitation, definitely deceiving to the public. The floors creaked, the bathroom had no ceiling due to an apparent flood a few days ago. The shower which looks good in the photo is downstairs. To get there means a sticky carpet walk. not good. The owner was very apologetic and I said to him that it was nt ready for someone to live in and to charge £70 a night. We left not having stayed there.
