Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly welcome from Brian. The rooms were comfy and clean, though perhaps the rooms' adjacency to the beer garden might have been disruptive had the weather been cooler and drinkers been around. The ability to access the beer garden direct from the street was a clear security risk.
Breakfast, which had to be ordered the night before, was tasty and generously portioned.

somebody had left the bedroom window wide open. It was freezing in the room and the radiator was cold. They put the heralding on, this was about 5pm ! and found an electric heater which struggled.
On the plus side the bar was ok and has one of those barmen you can take an instant liking to.

The place serves nice beer, and the service is really good-but the regulars are occassionally paranoid. For example during my visit, I had been in the establishment for 3 hours, sat at the bar, with no problems whatsoever, and then a very drunk guy sat next to me. I did not know this person at all; I could see his mouth moving but could not understand the words. A younger gentleman then stood behind me and said:

'Excuse me, are you local?' and then 'You need to chill out.'

A while passed, then the younger guy again, said out of nowhere:

'Have you chilled out yet mate?'

I mean the situation was totally bizarre. I think maybe because I look slightly foreign (Polish/Eastern European) This may have been a contributing factor.

The room was as expected for the price, fairly clean but more attention to detail is desperately needed (stains on wall by bin, etc). unfortunately we should have tried it upon arrival, the mattress on the bed was a very old, knackered spring mattress, we could not sleep properly, every time we tried to turn we could feel all the springs and the metal frame of the mattress. It should not be possible to rent a room with a mattress like that. In hindsight we should have tried the bed upon arrival, when we went to be d it was too late to complain. Will not be returning for the simple fact that, this is clearly not an oversight or something forgoten, it is a mattress that should have been replaced years ago and there was not even a thick topper to try and disguse it. Unfortunately when we got back to go to sleep was too late to find alternative accommodation. The private parking is limited, we could not find a space but there is street parking nearby. There was no mention of breakfast when we checked in, unsure itf it was available or not.

Never been in a hotel so inexpensive offering so much comfort. The rooms are very clean, there is a huge garden and also a terrace, a pub downstairs and the management is beyond friendly, it is lovely, to say the least.
With free wifi, unlimited free coffee, and teas, I really enjoy my stay in this quiet environment.
I won't exchange this place for a 4-star hotel, seriously.
I already planned to come back this summer.

Sugar on top, Loughborough is nice and the people are friendly.

Strongly advised!!!

Worst pub in the uk run by racist scum. Saw people doing drugs in tbe toilets, food you wouldn't give to prisoners. Offensive and rude staff who mock minorities and talk about selling cheap knockoff spirits and in pkace of better brands.

Easily the worst pub ive ever been to.

Stayed for a couple of nights to attend a Graduation. Nice size room, 3 beds, en suite shower/wc bathroom. Big TV, tea/coffee making facilities, plenty of storage. Clean and tidy- decorating adequate. The Peacock Inn staff are a friendly and helpful bunch. Pub full of nice friendly local characters: a good night is there to be had. We will be back. Unfortunately, due to covid they said no b&b at the moment👋😄

I made a last minute reservation at ‘The Peacock Inn’ on Thursday 14th April 2017 and I paid £30 for a single room for the following night; Friday 15th April 2017. What a mistake!!

‘The Peacock Inn’ is part of a public house and access to the room was through a locked (key was provided) wooden gate, then up a metal ‘fire escape’ staircase. There was no mention of shared bathroom facilities, but they were shared. The single room I was given had two single beds. One was made up, the other was not and the mattress was stained and disgusting! There was a sink in the room, but the beaker provided was filthy!

I seriously wish I had taken photos, but I was astounded and just wanted to get out!

I checked in and out within an hour; after I had found a more suitable, clean hotel with a private bathroom.
