From start to finish, Derek and Lez provided the warmest welcome and care throughout our stay. We took over the whole place for a weekend, to attend a family wedding. Derek and Lez waited up for our return, to ensure that everybody happily found their rooms, and even altered the following day's breakfast time (served by ‘Butler Derek’ in white gloves!), so that we could all eat together before departing our separate ways.
The whole place has the traditional big proportions and decor of a large Victorian house and is very suited to the display of antiques and show business memorabilia, that is everywhere! The rooms are very well furnished, with either an ensuite or dedicated bathroom, and provides for a very relaxed and comfortable stay.
And the pair won Channel 4’s programme ‘4 in a bed’ in 2022, which is testimony of their skill and care in catering to their guest needs, over many years.
I have no hesitation in recommending this place to others, you will be totally amazed!

Booked into Holywell House Guest House for one night on business on Monday 14th. The stay began well as they have their own large car park which has two outside 13amp sockets which was perfect to recharge my fully electric car overnight.
I then received a warm welcome from Derek who showed me to a spacious double bedded room with a great on suite bathroom. Given a room key with a front door key in order that I could come and go as I pleased. There are no evening dining facilities as this is a guest house but there are several good places to eat within a few yards walk to include the excellent Eastern Spice Indian Restaurant which came with a good endorsement from Derek.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and enhanced with hundreds of antiques.
After a quiet night sleep, the guest house is on a main road but this is very quiet during the night, I enjoyed a very tasty breakfast cooked by Lez (Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Hash Brown, Fresh Tomatoes and Mushrooms. Good coffee and a choice of white or brown toast. This hotel is perfect for people attending weddings in or near Lutterworth, or visiting the steam museum or family members who are at the University. If you need a place to stay give Holywell House a try and you will be assured of a warm welcome.

Hi Thankyou for your wonderful review of your stay with us and glad you enjoyed it. Only thing I noted reading your review, is you have put Lutterworth as the town we are at when in fact it is Loughborough. If you can edit it and change it to Loughborough that would be great. But thanks once again. regards Lez Newman

We could not have had a better experience than our stay at Holywell Guest House! Lez and Derek were warm, welcoming, friendly, helpful, informative, humorous, thoughtful and gracious! When we arrived, Lez greeted us at the door before we even knocked and helped us with our bags. When we were around, he entertained us with many funny stories. Derek greeted us at breakfast every morning at the artfully decorated, elegantly set dining table with white gloves, a tuxedo suit, coffee or tea, and a smile. The breakfast menu was printed with several options and the breakfast was beautifully presented as well as delicious! The location was perfect - we walked nearly everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were spacious, bright and spotless and each room had its own bathroom. We enjoyed hanging out in the sizable backyard and taking in the sunshine while we chatted and chowed. Lez and Derek obviously love hosting and pay impeccable attention to details. They made us feel like family and we are so grateful to them! We can't wait to go back to the Holywell House! We only wish we could give them more than 5 stars!**********

Stayed here a few weeks ago. B&B is well situated. Located a short walk to the town centre - didn't feel far even when carrying bags from station.

Three of us were in a room with one double and two single beds. I can sometimes find single beds a bit small for my liking but this one was very comfy and I slept well. I didn't notice any external noise despite the multiple windows. Room was bright, spacious, clean and had everything we needed.

The breakfast was good, delivered quickly and hosts were attentive with making sure I was happy, if I had enough tea etc. They had a variety of food and take pride in the service they provide. In the living room (opposite the dining room) there was a dog, who I'm guessing belonged to our hosts? The dog seemed calm and well-behaved and did not bother anyone at breakfast (can't say the same about some other dogs I've met!)

We returned from our evening later than expected, and I was grateful that Lez and Derek very kindly agreed to let us check out later in the morning (thank you!). Can't think of anything I was unhappy about.

I have stayed here multiple times recently while away with work. Always a very warm welcome, a great nights sleep and delicious breakfast! I don’t normally write reviews so I highly recommend staying here over any of the hotels in the area..

For those visiting from outside the UK, this would be a wonderful experience of British charm. For those visiting from within the UK, you would still get a lovely, homely experience. The location is perfect, right across from a park. The house is designed to give you an old-world feel. It is filled with artefacts, so many that you will notice something new every day of your stay. Each room is unique with period furniture and walls filled with beautiful paintings. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room with very traditional food and service. Along with the old-world charm, you have all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay. And last, but not the least, the hosts treat you with such courteousness and a welcoming manner, it makes all the difference. A must-stay when in Loughborough.

Fantastic stay.
Holywell House is full of character unlike the "Stepford" bland rooms of many hotels.
Derek and Lez are perfect hosts and clearly take great care and personal pride in providing guests with a quality experience.
Room was excellent with high quality fittings to the bathroom whilst still preserving the charm of the house.
Easy access to town centre
Breakfast was fantastic both in taste and presentation.
Thanks guys for a great stay and I look forward to staying again next time I am in Loughborough.

We stayed for an overnighter whilst visiting our son at Uni. Really really quirky place with very gracious hosts. All social distancing measures in place. Superior family room beautifully decorated and welcoming. Lots of space. We'll defo stay here again. Only one tiny drawback - early checkout 10am and breakfast finishes early (breakfast was lovely & well worth getting up for).
Highly recommended.

This B&B was recommended to us and what a gem of a place. Hubby and I would definitely come again we had a lovely welcome from our hosts Lez and Derek beautifully maintained and spotless B&B. Breakfast was excellent. Shops are 2 minutes away the main shopping area 6 minute walk away and a 7 minute walk to the great central railway which was our reason for coming.
