Attended a friends wedding day. The hotel and our room was very nice & the 3 waitresses that were working were great. (Serving 2 weddings at once) However the manager is the receptionist,barman,waiter,cleaner,and every other job that he thinks he can do without having to employ staff to do the job. Very arrogant manager tbh Drinks but they don’t have any ice, opened bottles of wine served when ordered as a new bottle, lost beer kegs (CARLING). Service for a wedding was terrible because it was totally understaffed. That said tho. The food was good on the day plus the breakfast was fantastic too The place makes faulty towers look 5 star its a joke. You just couldn’t write on here and people believe what it was like on the day. To stop as a couple would probably be ok but for a wedding keep away…
We stayed at the Dryfesdale, with family members, for our wedding at the end of October (covid wedding). It couldn't have been more perfect, rooms-lovely, staff - warm and welcoming and finally Glenn the owner/manager who couldn't have done more for us. Looked after our every whim from the moment we arrived. Our wedding meal was superb, beautiful fresh, tasty produce, cooked expertly and presented very well. Attentive service throughout as we couldn't serve ourselves drinks. All in all, a perfect wedding day in perfect surroundings with a perfect host. Can't wait to come for another visit and get the full experience once restrictions are lifted. Thank you Glenn and staff.
Stayed here for my sisters wedding.'Greeted' by the rudest receptionist EVER, turns out shes jack of all trades,not 1 smile or friendly glance. HARDLY ANY drinks ,no ice/mixers,murky lager,bedroom 10/10
We were supposed to get married in October, but due to COVID we had to cancel and it has been a stressful time for both me and my partner. Spoke to the owner expecting it to be a very difficult conversation about refunding ourselves and the guests and he offered a full refund on everything we paid and guests rooms. It is very rare you get human kindness over money but Glenn has been absolutely lovely and due to this will be staying and possibly be having our wedding/renewing our vows there in the future. Massive thank you to Glenn the owner and the hotel. You’re all amazing!
We chose this hotel as part of our wedding package. Our wedding is set for September 2020, so a little last minute in booking everything. The hotel were very slow on sending any information out about the package and I had to chase them 3 times for any sort of information before they then sent information to me via email....problem being they wrote the email address down wrong so I never got this email. This was probably because they didn't know my name and I was called Dione, Deana, Diana, Diona, even minutes after me correcting them! The "wedding planner" also insisted she left me a voicemail...which never happened...not in my voicemail box anyway! Family members tried endlessly to book rooms with them and each and every time, over the phone to the actual hotel (not the call centre) prices changed depending on who called. My mum booked a double room for herself and partner and enquires about a disabled room for my 86 year old nan and great aunt. Ground floor needed with a walk in shower. This was fine and the rooms were reserved. The total cost per room for them was £447 with Although I didn't stay at this hotel I have found their customwr service appauling. My mum reserved rooms for my wedding for this coming September...room price £447 for 3 nights with breakfast. My 86 year old nan and great aunt required a disable room...grouns floor walk-in shower! Whilst I went online to book a room for my parent in laws to be I found their rooms coming out at £248 (exactly same rooms). This was on booking.com stating continental breakfast included. During my mum's telephone conversation with Glen he categorically stated he would do a much better price than the internet prices! I called Glen to discuss this, as there is a massive difference between his £447 & £248...Glen was not cheaper! Glen was away until the Friday and Megan told me she was far too busy to discuss this any further with me as she was struggling with serving evening meals at 2130hours! Glen phoned me back on the Friday and I discussed the price difference with him...he didn't care...he stated it was due to the internet companies having the freedom to change the prices, higher or lower! Glen did agree with me that a continental breakfast would be included in the internet price but when he spoke to my mum he told her even though it stated breakfast on the booking form they would, under no circumstances, have breakfast included! Make your mind up Glen! I then asked Glen to cancel their reserved rooms and I would re book through the internet...he said that wouldn't be a problem....however, he would not guarantee the disabled room for my 86 year old nan, even though it obviously wasn't occupied because it was reserved for them under the old booking! Although I can't comment on the actual hotel, I can comment on the absolute shambles of service from Glen, Megan and the mysterious wedding planner. Word of advice....if you are booking this hotel for your wedding, check the internet prices as they are ripping you off a treat! Wedding parties are told to book directly though the hotel...whereby they charge you nearly double what you can actually get a room for. They told me they had weddings booked a week before mine and a week after and none of those clients are making a fuss like me...perhaps they haven't checked the internet prices!…
