Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Me and my partner weren't able to get back to Manchester from Edinburgh due to train complications so had to stop off in Lockerbie. This was the only property we could find as we were booking the same day, but what a blessing this was. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the lovely landlady Christine who showed us to our room. It had tea and biscuits ready for us, a very nice power shower (which was REALLY needed), and perhaps the comfiest bed I've ever stayed in! In the morning, Christine prepared us a gorgeous Full English Breakfast with a selection of juices and cereals, all with a nice morning view of the countryside. To top it all off, as we had an early train and with Lockerbie being a small, quiet town, we were struggling to get a taxi to the station (Uber is out of the question in these parts), so Christine kindly drove us up there. In summary, if you ever find yourself staying over in Lockerbie, this beautiful farmhouse is a must, thanks again Christine!

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our Scotland touring holiday. Situated fairly close over the border and just off the M74 in the peace and quiet of the countryside, it was an ideal location for us.
Christine was a very helpful and friendly host who at the time of our visit was juggling the guesthouse with the arrival of a new grandchild. Breakfast was lovely - a good choice of cereals, fruit and traditional cooked choices, all freshly made.
We booked the deluxe twin room which is the most expensive of the rooms here. We loved the decor but it is worth mentioning that the bathroom area is separated from the bedroom area by a curtain. This is clearly marked on the website so no complaint on that score, but in hindsight we wished we had opted for a traditional room. This room also lacked a bedside table which was a slight inconvenience.
During our holiday we stayed in 13 different places; The Bishopcleugh was head and shoulders above them all for the content of the generous hospitality tray. Two bottles of fizz, home made biscuits, scottish tablet and water along with the usual teas and coffees - we really appreciated that.

We stayed for one night on our way up to Scotland. The guest house is a short drive from the motorway, but set in its own extensive grounds and quiet countryside. Rooms were well equipped and decorated, the breakfast was excellent, and our hostess was very welcoming and helpful.

Stayed at this B&B on first night of tour of Scotland. The host, Christine, greeted me on arrival, showed me where to park my motorcycle, and then showed me to my room, which was excellent. Very clean, warm and comfortable. Tea & coffee in room with a great bathroom/shower etc. Breakfast was superb too, plenty of it and cooked to perfection. Definitely was more than I expected and needed for my overnight stay. Also, located well away from anywhere, so very safe here to park your expensive motorcycles, so you can get a good night's sleep without having to worry about them. Brilliant place in my opinion.

Room Tip: Gravel Road and drive, so just be aware. Was fine if you take it slowly.

Stayed for one night on the way to Scotland. Just two minutes from the A74 but so quiet and restful. Full Cooked breakfast was delicious. Christine is so friendly - I could have stayed all morning chatting !!! Will be first on the list of places to stay if/when doing the same journey. Highly recommended

Spent two nights here on my annual visit to Scotland from my home in the USA. It was an absolute pleasure, warm, comfortable en-suite room and a wonderful breakfast. The view from my room was gorgeous, watched sheep grazing and hens pecking around. Slept so well it was so quiet. Hosts Christine and Ian were extremely helpful and kind people. Highly recommend. Also conveniently situated for the M74.

We had been in Scotland for a wedding and the drive was too long so looked at Lockerbie as it was about half way!
So pleased we did as we found the Bishopcleugh B&B!
A warm welcome from Christine, and shown to our well appointed bedrooms. Lovely decorated rooms, everything provided, and a quality en suite.
Breakfast was a delight, lovely home cooked quality ingredients.
If you get the chance make a for this B&B!,,

A warm welcome from Christine to her lovely rural home just outside Lockerbie. The room was clean and comfortable with an effective en-suite shower. We had what was probably the best full-Scottish breakfast of our recent stay in Scotland.
