There are many reasons to go to this Spa hotel for a 2night break, mainly the incredibly friendly staff, good food and the comfiest beds ever, also the best back massage I’ve ever had( thanks Jade) However staffing levels from one night to the next were noticeably bad from the first night to the second when we waited very long times for drinks and food, and at one time were eating in the dark. Also the cleanliness of our bathroom could have been better and it’s about time to upgrade from a shower curtain to a screen surely. On the whole I would recommend this for a Spa break as very good value for money.

So pleasently surprised with this meal- beautiful starter buffet and the roast was the best I’ve ever had out. Beautiful roast potatoes, everything was well cooked, the Yorkshire has a lovely flavour and so do the pigs without blankets.

I booked last minute for my mum and I for August 2021 bank holiday. My mum is partially sighted and has trouble walking, using a walker to do so. We could park right outside reception which was brilliant, mum gets anxious if she has to walk too far. I had phoned ahead about her not being able to walk upstairs and the staff were so helpful and said we could stay on the ground floor or 1st floor which had lift access, the choice was ours. We booked an evening meal for the both nights we stayed, the food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly, attentive without being over the top and knowledgeable about the food. The swimming pool was warm, big and exceptionally maintained. We booked some spa treatments too, WOW the staff are truly amazing, I would like to personally thank Verity, Katie and the lady who did mums treatment (sorry mum can’t remember her name) as they all went above and beyond to make us at ease , we were both nervous as not had treatments before. Verify was so upset she couldn’t give me the candle massage I had booked because I had a full shoulder replacement 3 months earlier and a body massage was not suitable. She made the treatments she gave me instead so special, head massage, face treatment and leg massage with the candles. It was truly awesome. Every staff member has been brilliant, always happy, nothing too much trouble and genuine, no false smiles or forced conversation, all genuine. Thank you so much from my mum and me. We will come again and recommend Cottons Hotel and Spa to all.

Booked a last minute deal, facial and back massage. Kira was very professional and her massage was the best I've had in a long while. Kira was cheerful and not overly fussy as some therapists can be. Will definitely be back.

This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel and we were very pleased with our stay. The food was very nice, staff were pleasant and it was a very well run hotel. Housekeeping was on top of keeping the corridors clear of room service with a lovely touch of water and milk machines on the floors with jugs for each in room fridges. Our children had cookies on arrival and their own mini bath robes. Breakfast was at a certain time and table service which minimised number of people walking about, it was also freshly made and delicious. Would highly recommend booking dinner as very popular and also high quality. Only downside was request to pay extra (£25 family of 4 for 48 hours) to use pool and gym facilities. Will stay here again!

Thank you for the great feedback Emily. I am pleased to hear about all of the positives from your stay and that it was a trip enjoyed by all the family. Unfortunately, access to the spa is not automatically included with rates that are booked through 3rd party websites hence the £25 charge. When you book direct with us this is included complimentary and we are always happy to match rates that you may have seen elsewhere like for like. Hope this is useful for future bookings. I look forward to welcoming you back to Cottons again soon. Chris Spencer Head of Guest Experience
