A delightful pub with rooms - I met some friends for dinner and I stayed over as I'm not a local. The beer and food was well kept and top notch respectively. It was a Sunday night and the place was heaving but that didnt affect the levels of service, just added to the atmosphere The room was spacious, clean...

Went with team members for a meal which was superb. Traditional British food served excellently. Large portions at reasonable prices. Extremely satisfying. Only issue is that being so full up after the main meal I couldn't manage any desert.

Unfortunately I have to say that despite the nice location the English country and the nice and old place I was aspecting simting better honestly. The personnel is nice and kind the food is good as well but the rooms are very basic and really cold . The radiators are off during the night and and on just some times...

The Dog is what is now a very familiar style of establishment, a "gastro-pub", no longer just a village local but a large bar/dining area with letting rooms above. On first sight the pub is really nice, a smart whitewashed building sporting a well appointed bar with plenty of seating sensibly arranged around the several open fires and stoves that...

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights at the Dog Inn in December and they turn the heating off so you freeze during the night and throughout the morning. I complained the first night to no avail. This is not cheap accommodation, I think it was 110 gbp a night, on a comfort level I would give zero rating. However,...

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate New Year's Eve, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the entertainment. The service throughout what was a very busy evening was excellent, efficient and friendly. Nearly every table was full and the bar was three deep, even so there was no waiting and our food arrived hot and delicious. The room...

We had our office Christmas dinner at The Dog this year. We have used this restraint privately many times but this was the first time for the business and we were not disappointed. The meal was excellent, the atmosphere homely and the staff friendly and helpful. Some of our staff stayed the night and had a comfortable stay with no...

We called for lunch yesterday and ordered two club sandwiches and two pints of Boltmaker. The beer was really good but the chips where tasteless and the sandwiches were not nice either. In fact mine contained a hair! I did mention it to the waiter when we were leaving and my husband told the bar staff when paying the bill....

The Dog Inn has it all. Lovely accomodation, great food, ambience but most of all the most engaging staff of any pub we've visited. We walked through the door & three staff members greeted us on the way to the bar to check in. Our waiter for dinner (Max) was excellent as was our Breakfast Manager Loz. Nothing was too...
