Top class B&B, room was the best we stayed in on our trip, and we had plenty of space with our 2 dogs in the room with us. Theresa was so accommodating , and the breakfast fresh and delicious. So glad we stayed here instead of larger hotels in town.

What a treat to take a break at Ardconnel and to be so well looked after by Theresa. We loved our room at the top of the stairs; both bedroom and bathroom have skylight windows which open to a view across the fields. The room is well set-up with plenty of wardrobe space, and drawers, as well as two armchairs. Spacious and comfortable. We loved the breakfasts - quality ingredients, good choices, well cooked. We loved the location - a rural setting just out of town with fields across the road and views of the sea in the distance, but still an easy walk in to Kirkwall. We enjoyed the 25 minute walk each way - one way down and along the waterfront, and the other way through the fields and down through residential streets. Welcoming and friendly at all times, Theresa’s local knowledge and support was invaluable and she went the extra mile to make John feel special on his birthday. For a high quality, welcoming place to spend time, we couldn’t have done better.

This was a great place from which to base our stay on Orkney. Teresa and her husband made us feel so welcome on arrival. Our room was very clean and tidy with a great view of the bay. We stayed for five nights each day we gad a different breakfast and everyt time we ate, it was always perfectly cooked and presented well. The rooms are attended to daily and nothing was too much trouble. Teresa is a font of knowledge about where to go and what to see on the island, so if your stuck for something to do she will give you some suggestions. The thing we liked was we could come and go as we pleased. It's close enough to walk into town but far enough out of town not to have noise and the bustle of it. If you are looking for a place to base your holiday from then i would recommend staying here. It's warm and friendly and somewhere I would go to again.

Theresa, the owner of Ardconnel, was very welcoming and friendly who couldn’t do enough for us. I could not recommend this place enough. The rooms are tastefully decorated in Orkney tweed which is a lovely touch and they are exceptionally clean. I will definitely stay again!!
