I recently stayed at Kingston Lodge with 4 friends for a week. The experience was excellent. The cottage has been re-furbished to a high standard with a well fitted kitchen, large living room, 2 bathrooms and 2 double rooms all spread over 3 floors. The central location provided easy walking access to the main shopping area and the main historical... More

At Kingston House, all rooms are clean and tidy & very well kept. The welcome pack was very yummy and a good introduction to the foodie delights of Orkney. The house is very comfortable, with modern heating, cooking, washing and cooling facilities. The garden is large with outdoor table and chairs. Overall a really great place to stay in Kirkwall.

We booked Scapa View House for 3 nights over the weekend so as to visit family. The house itself is well equipped, and in a good location. It's not clear from the photographs but the house is semi detached and located next to the main road into Kirkwall. That said the house is of such a standard that you cannot... More

Spent five nights here. Great house, exceptionally well appointed and superb location - we easily walked everywhere in the town. 4 minutes walk to Lidl for fresh croissants for breakfast. Only negative was knives which would not cut warm butter!

We have just come back from a short stay at Kingston Lodge, this accommodation is excellent. The house was so comfortable, spotlessly clean and very cosy, the owners have used really good quality furnishings and electrical equipment through out and the beds are comfy. Very central and parking close by at the end of the road. if you are traveling... More

Four of us stayed in apartment #2, which we used as a base to explore the Main Land of Orkney. The apartment is situated 5 minutes walk from St Magus cathederal, the centre of Kirkwall, so all the main attractions and amenities of Kirkwall are conveniently close at hand. Even the Highland Park distillery on the edge of town is... More

We spent a week in Apartment #2 and can't praise the accommodation and our hosts highly enough. John and Hazel McGreggor went out of their way to help us after our credit cards were lost/stolen. The apartment is large, immaculate, and tastefully appointed. Every amenity was provided: Free WiFi, huge fridge, comfy bed, washing machine, bath/shower, lovely welcome basket, wide-screen... More

On our fifth visit to Orkney we were showing friends the delights of the Islands. These units, which I noticed on a previous visit to Kirkwall, are well designed and provided a central location with shopping, restaurants and parking close by. Our unit was Kingston Lodge, the Victorian cottage facing the quiet road. Although it was late spring the air... More

Apartment as good as its description. Very comfortable, well equipped and excellent location. A home from home. Recommend it 100% as a base for an Orkney holiday. Very near good food shops if you want to cook for yourself. Restaurants within easy walking distance
