Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely location just 2 miles from the town with views over the bay. All communal facilities were spotlessly clean and both laundry/dishwashing and bathroom areas were comfortably warm. Friendly welcome and lots of helpful information. Only downside was no wi fi. Great special offer during April making it particularly good value.

What a fabulous, well maintained site! Can't recommend it enough. Lovely quiet location where you could spend all day watching the coming and goings in the harbour but there's so much to do and see on Orkney. Just spent the most relaxing week based here, with caravan and awning, exploring Orkney. As said before showers are and toilet facilities excellent, never known such spacious showers except when using a family one. Yes it can be windy but you know it will be if you visit Orkney. Patricia the owner is lovely and friendly. Will definitely book here again when returning to Orkney.

Booked for three nights in show week. Owner went out of her way to make sure we could keep the same plot when we asked to stay another two nights. Very clean and new. Nice to watch the ferries and cruise ships coming and going. Half hour walk into town. Will stay again.

Needed 2 nights in Kirkwall, usually go to Pickies but it was full. Beautiful place, flat pitches, lovely owners, pet friendly. Water side location with lots of space ti walk dogs. Clean, new facilities. Cannot recommend highly enough and as a disabled caravanber, everything was just 100%. Very quiet and stunning sunsets. Can't wait to return in July for a little break.

Great campsite, dog friendly and the lady who greeted us was lovely and very helpful. All the facilities were very clean and well looked after, and it has a really nice view of the bay. Would recommend.

Very well run park - cannot say enough about the owner who was so helpful and friendly. Showers, toilets incredible clean and tidy. Easy access to the town and nice level site. Quiet and interesting particularly watching the ferries and cruise boats arriving.

We turned up last minute, called the number in the window and a lovely gentleman arrived within few minutes after assuring us he had vacancies. Chose our plot, and were given all the information we needed for a lovely stay. All facilities were immaculately clean and obviously cared for. Views were amazing and so quiet. Ideal for ferry hopping. Will be back again at some point

I can’t rate this site highly enough. It is a beautiful setting handy for the town but far enough along the waterside to ensure peace and quite. The facilities are first class and very very clean. We were met by Patricia who was a lovely person and very approachable and helpful. The site is level and easy to get to. Easy beat site in Kirkwall. Highly recommended

We stayed for 6 nights in August. The site was easy to find using the directions provided at booking. It is just outside Kirkwall and an easy, flat walk into the town that takes about 30 minutes. We received our pitch number by text shortly before arrival but were welcomed by the friendly owner anyway. It was nice to get all the information about the site and shown where all the facilities were. We were allocated a good sized, level, hardstanding pitch with lovely views across the bay. There is a motorhome service point and further separate grey waste point and chemical toilet waste disposal. There is a dishwashing area but no laundry facilities. The whole site was very tidy and well maintained. The heated shower block was immaculate and kept spotless throughout our stay. The showers themselves were spacious, powerful and the perfect temperature - I never use campsite showers in preference to our van shower but this time I made an exception because they were so good! We didn't have any problems during our stay but I have no doubt they would have been dealt with quickly. When we return to Orkney we wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else and are displaying our Kirkwall Bay Touring Park window sticker on the van with pride.

Well this was a lucky find, we only spent one night here in our motorhome as we moved around Orkney a lot, but would have been happy staying longer. Patricia (the owner) deserves a medal, she is so friendly, happy to chat and will go out of her way to help. The site had only been open for 3 weeks when we stayed so everything still had that brand new feel and was sparkling clean. The campsite is right on the edge of Kirkwall Bay and relatively small but the pitches are large and well spaced. Water and EHU at each pitch, and chemical toilet/gray waste disposal available. It is only a couple of minutes drive out of Kirwall and easy to find and despite its proximity to the city it is calm, peaceful and surrounded by nature. Lovely views over the bay and magnificent sunset. Would definitely stay again, hope to return to Orkney soon as it is so beautiful.
