Stayed here expecting a traditional experience with homely flair and that's what was provided. Well priced and staff were very helpful and accommodating. Terribly knowledgeable about whiskey ! The exterior made me concerned as it's not an attractive building however the interior is homely - not 5star but not 5 star prices so completely acceptable. The room was spacious -... More

Had our Anniversary dinner on Saturday night with B&B and it was a really good night. Lynnfield Lux dinner with great food & wine from Kirkness & Gorie. Great accommodation in Tammie Norrie, biggest bathroom I've seen and really comfy bed. Great breakfast in morning. Will be back

I stayed here for one night whilst in Kirkwall on business. The place looks pretty boring from the outside but becomes something truly wonderful once through the doors. I had a twin room which was huge and decorated in a quirky fashion which really suited the place. The bathroom was enormous and exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfortable... More

Hotel looks a bit bland from outside but once inside the interior is cosy, comfortable and charming with loads of character. Our room was spacious, bathroom large and moderrn yet suite maintaining 'old world charm'. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast all freshly cooked and so nice to be able to order your cooked breakfast rather than finding it... More

My first stay at the Lynnfield - slightly quirky with all sorts of traditional and local furnishings, pictures, artefacts. The bedrooms are large, with traditional decor and furnishings a continuing theme, like the public areas. Very comfortable bed and very quiet location makes for a good night's sleep. Breakfast and evening meal were of a high standard and traditional, making... More

A very pleasant hotel just on the outskirts of Kirkwall next door to a whisky distillery - Highland Park. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious and nicely furnished with antiques. The downstairs sitting rooms had a homely feel with cupboards full of whisky bottles of all varieties. There was a book of tasting notes to go with them.... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. Our room the Tammie Norrie was huge as was our bedroom and it had a panoramic view of the town. Furniture was characterful. Breakfast was well made and presented. We had dinner there twice and on both occasions was good. My vegetables had been over salted and they were quickly replaced and taken off the... More

This hotel retains an ambience of a past era. Wood panelling in the lounge, dated pictures and furniture add to the charm. We stayed 2 nights and had 2 meals ( 4 adults, 1 child). The rooms are huge, with old furniture, often ornate, and modern facilities- lovely bathroom, TV, coffee/ tea in the room, and a welcoming small decanters... More

Let's start with the positives. The Lynnfield has a superb whisky library and snug. For devotees it's a delight and Malcolm the manager is extremely knowledgeable on the subject. The produce used in the restaurant is also of a good quality, so all the ingredients are there for an enjoyable and authentic stay. However, it's the quality of the accommodation,... More

We were referred to the Lynnfield Hotel and Restaurant for dinner one night. We heard that they served mutton that had been fed only seaweed and we were enticed. So, we stopped there in the morning on our way out to see other sights and made reservations for that evening. We asked about the lamb and were told that it... More
