Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Once again our review reinforces the range of excellent, recent reviews of Craigiefield Park. The accommodation is specifically designed for receiving guests, with large rooms and bed, all the extras you could want in a bedroom, views either across the sea or to the field of sheep, a breakfast room where you can read maps and relax, while the house was immaculately clean and the breakfast was outstanding. More significantly, Hugh and Angela could not have done more to find my lost wallet ( that was successfully found) and in offering lifts and good conversation. I cannot understand how this is not rated 1 or 2 by Trip Advisor for accommodation in Kirkwall. What are these figures? This is superb location for anyone with a car or who enjoys a beautiful 20 min seashore walk ( 5 min bus ride) into town.

After problems with our ferry we had to stay another night in Orkney. Due to the annual Folk Festival taking place accommodation was extremely difficult to find and we were very lucky to be told of No 9 Craigiefield Park. Situated on the outskirts of Kirkwall, this is a lovely B&B establishment with off street parking. Our room was very comfortable, our breakfasts were excellent and the proprietrix Angele was very friendly and helpful. A first class B&B

We could not have been happier with this accommodation, Angela and her husband Hugh are very personable people and could not have been more helpful. Our room was clean well furnished with An extremely comfortable king size bed. Excellent breakfast. Have no hesitation in recommending and will certainly try to stay with them on our next visit.

A very clean and tidy B and B on the outskirts of Kirkwall, which is a short bus ride or brisk walk along the seashore to the centre. Angele was really friendly and helpful and provided an excellent breakfast. Very quiet situation. Highly recommended

Wonderful B and B ( and we’re very picky ). Spotless, elegant, comfortable. Beautifully prepared and cooked breakfast. Warm, friendly welcome from Hugh and Angela. Walking distance to Kirkwall centre in a quiet, peaceful cul-de-sac. Recommended unreservedly.

Based on great tripadvisor reviews, we stayed at 9 Craigiefield Park. We were not disappointed. Angele and Hugh were wonderful, welcoming hosts who went out of their way to help with local knowledge and suggestions of interesting places to visit that only locals would know of. The house is modern and provides spacious, clean rooms with excellent amenities. Being modern, it meant we did not have to drag our heavy cases up never-ending staircases that are so prevalent in the UK. Angele cooked wonderful breakfasts and was faultless with her attention. Meeting their dog Frost was the icing on the B&B cake. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Orkney.

The best b & b of our recent trip to the north of Scotland and Orkney. The house is immaculate and our room just perfect. The bathroom is well appointed with a lovely walk-in shower. The wi-fi works too!! The breakfasts were great, whether the continental style or the cooked option. I loved the way the fresh fruit salad was served! Many thanks to our hosts Hugh and Angele for their hospitality and information. They were very welcoming without being intrusive. Thanks again to Angele for my lovely present (now on display) and to Hugh for the lift into the town for my birthday meal. If anyone is looking for somewhere to stay in Kirkwall, this is the place.

This place was out outstanding! Inside was clean, tidy and fresh. The rooms were a decent size and with everything you need. Modern yet comfy! The owner was a star , very talkative and informative about the area. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone. The title never judge a book without opening the front cover, means yes it's a tad bland outside BUT inside more than makes up for it. Breakfast was brilliant too, set us up for the day.

We were three couples that stayed at No. 9 Craigiefield for one night in Sept. 2016. It is a very pleasant, comfortable home in a quiet, relatively new residential neighborhood. Only a 5 minute drive from downtown Kirkwall and maybe 30-40 minutes from anywhere on the island. Definitely recommend staying here.
