Ideally placed only a few minutes from sea front. Rooms clean and well equipped. Bed was so comfortable and extremely clean and fresh bed linen. Alistair the owner was very friendly. The breakfast was lovely. Cannot really think of any faults. Good value for money.

Me and my partner stayed at the chequers hotel in early August the room itself was lovely and clean as were the facilities. The breakfast was excellent, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The chequers hotel was situated close to the seafront and all the attractions that me and my partner were interested in. I would definitely return to... More

We booked as a family independantly a while back for 6 nights, my partner rang to confirm our booking a few weeks before we travelled and was told no problem its all fine. Never have I ever come across someone so "wonderful" As soon as we walked in we felt looked down on, the "lovely" owner of this place accused my friends of being cheap, because they bought a bottle of prossecco (from... Not quite the whole story is it .You asked to leave which you did the next day ( not 5 hrs ) which I was happy with as you upset every other customer in the guest house with your behaviour I asked you and your friends to respect the other guests but with no effect. More

Pleasant 2 night stay. Alistair was a very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Location was good but still affected by the noise from the 'boy racers' who speed up and down the sea front to all hours of the morning, speeding, wheel spinning and hooting. Also it's no-ones fault but the seagulls are horrendous, kept us awake all night but this... More

When we arrived we were shown to room 4. it was noisy(supposed to be double glazed) and the toilet had a horrendous smell, we thought that we would let that go and just tell them as we were only stopping one night. The noise from outside kept us awake most of the night, breakfast ok but coffee cold. When we... More
