This was great value for money, at £35 a night for a double room with breakfast included. We were given a balcony room, which we loved.

The room looked freshly painted and was mostly clean, but the carpets and some of the fixtures were in need of an overhaul. I kept referring to the hotel as "shabby chic" and "decaying grandeur", and the hallway, with its light fittings and mirrors that suited my Gothic sensibilities as "Bela Lugosi's corridor!"

The breakfasts were good, the bar cheap and the host friendly. Yes, the hotel's a bit dated and tatty in parts but I'd definitely return.

My husband and I stayed one night at The Embassy Hotel after an evening at Great Yarmouth Races. We had looked at other hotels in the area but found them to be over-priced. The reasonable price of The Embassy Hotel is what attracted us and we were not disappointed.

The manager / host, Dave, was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The Embassy Hotel is right by the sea front - a fantastic location for such a bargain price.

Breakfast was delicious, including a full English for my husband and plenty of vegetarian options for me. We had a leisurely breakfast and the service and food was great.

We didn’t use the Bar because we were out for the evening but other guests told us it was very reasonably priced.

A friendly and reasonably priced hotel, in a perfect location for exploring Great Yarmouth. We will definitely go back. Thank you to Dave and his team.

This was a basic, cheap and cheerful hotel and I got exactly what I expected.
Large basic en-suite room, dated but ok,
Great view over the sea.
A simple but good cold and hot buffer breakfast that filled me up
Great locations 30 seconds walk from the front and sea world.
Free parking too.

We have just returned from our weekend in Great Yarmouth staying at The Embassy Hotel.
Mmmm where do I start...
Payment was taken upon arrival for 2 superior rooms, after which we were shown to our rooms.
Our room was large with a large television, cannot really say anymore than that. The cleaners need sacking as they obviously do not know how to carry that function out.
Bedding did not fit the bed, I was too scared to check the mattress and just prayed I wouldn't catch anything. In fact a couple we spoke to whilst there actually went out and bought pillows and pillowcases! The manager tries his best but with owner Ali living in London he obviously gets no budget to employ a decent decorator, cleaner or be able to purchase decent bedding. The only good thing was the breakfast but that worried me, because if our cleaners did the kitchen too, god knows what it would have been like. Our waitresses were lovely as was David. We were told money was being spent on the hotel, is that true? We'll never know. Our friend's room was so bad they insisted on being moved to a room basically no higher a standard but at least it didn't smell of something resembling sewerage!

Hotel are extremely slack at acknowledging and replying to messages or emails. We were informed by an outside booking company that we could waive the cancellation fee and request a full refund due to the current situation with the country going into lock down....15 days later still no refund or communication with regards to our refund....just a few words stating I am requested to go via the booking company! Unimpressed and slightly annoyed

I personally look for 10 high standard qualities in a hotel unfortunately this hotel only had 4 and some of my 3 weeks 2 of those high standard qualities didn’t work one being the WiFi and the other being breakfast and pizza kitchen but by the time I left the kitchen got fixed but the WiFi still wasn’t working. The other 2 high standards were the shower in my room (10) and 3 members of staff David (cook, hotel manager), Deiane (waitress), and a new guy who hasn’t been there long I had been told his name but don’t know how to spell it (hotel manager, waiter, cleaner)these people were fantastic but other members of staff seemed rude or unresponsive especially a Ali (owner, sit on bum guy). “Room” bed very uncomfortable and wasn’t made on a daily basis, very dusty had to clean own toilet. “Food” Pizza very high quality breakfast David was very good at doing poached eggs after the first day of trying to tell me he didn’t do them. “Rest of the hotel” maintenance lots of lightbulbs out lots of cobwebs in stairwell I did see some vacuuming being done but not very much all in all bad hotel

We stayed at The Embassy last Saturday and Sunday night. Check in was quick and easy, the rooms were ready for us even though we had arrived a little early. The staff who checked us in were very nice gentlemen and very helpful and accommodating.
We had booked two rooms, one was a suite and one double. Both rooms were very clean and tidy, there were plenty of fresh towels and toiletries available. We found the beds very comfortable and I had some of the best sleep I've had in a long while in them! We didn't hear any noise from our room and all slept soundly both nights.
The breakfast is served for a good duration so you don't have to be awake super early which was a bonus. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the cooked breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The service was fast and friendly.
The hotel is very close to the seafront which is a real plus and it isn't far to walk into town or to the many attractions of Great Yarmouth. The free parking out the front of the hotel is very handy and we had no troubles finding a space.
We were very pleased with our weekend break and it gave us some very welcome family time to rest and relax, we will definitely be back.

Location is good, as is breakfast and the staff are nice. Lounge, Bar, Reception areas are generally ok but dark and old fashioned. Not impressed with the carpeting on stairs and corridors which looked dirty. Our bedroom was very large with large windows on two elevations and there is a balcony. Plenty of tea/coffee. All normal furnishings and facilities are provided, but all of it old and in poor condition. Wallpaper is peeling in places, carpet worn and stained, beds uncomfortable. Bathroom passable but a old fashioned and basic. The bedroom needs a full upgrade. The lounge/bar/reception possibly just need a bit of modernising and brightening up.

Stayed here as only place available on a last minute visit to family. Room 2 pure awful, stained carpet, horrid bed, 1 pillow, 1 windo high up so no view horrid radiator with spilt paint over it, went for a shower, shower head wouldn't stay up used soap in soap tray. Told manager who apologised. Tried to see if any available rooms elsewhere as hotel full. Only one available at the comfort hotel at £500 a night. Gin and tonic cheap in bar only positive. Seeing how dirty room was skipped breakfast even though it has had good reviews. Stay again.... Never

This was a last minute booking as needed somewhere to stay for the night in Yarmouth.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly chap and taken to our room, it was a fair size with on suit.
When having a closer look there was a few hairs in the bath. I took a shower and not very powerful, I think anyone with long hair would struggle to rinse the shampoo out.
However we had a great night's sleep.

Got up in the morning made us both a coffee and I put milk in mine from 2 small cartons, it tasted a bit funny and after a few mouth fulls I noticed the milk in the cup was more like cottage cheese.

Went for breakfast as this was included, we were offered Cereal, toast, full English and a pot of tea or coffee. We chose the cornflakes as the other options were a few months out of date.

The full English breakfast and coffee went down well.
