Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for a long weekend, from the start it was stress free, parking and check in a breeze. Hosts friendly, with a great knowledge of the area.
Our room was spotlessly clean and large enough, not to feel cramped.
Little touches of accessories like shower gel (that I forgot to pack) were there for us.
Great shower with lots of pressure & a powerful hairdryer.
Lots of mirrors to check yourself out and they are well up on Hand sanitising and social distancing. Secure safe in wardrobe, free of charge.
Breakfast was ordered the night before, with lots of choice and delivered to your room to eat in bed. We felt like kings.
A Great full cooked breakfast Monday to Friday which was delicious. The sausages were lush.
The house itself is absolutely lovely, lots of character and charm with a great selection of books and games if you are staying in just to relax.
In the local vicinity there is a great pub 150 metres away and a Premier shop the same distance selling everything you need for a snack. The hotel does offer room service 24 hours a day, which we may have used if we had of stayed longer.
Parking is at the back of the hotel and it is safe and secure, you can enter the hotel from either the front or back. If you are a smoker you can partake either at the back or in the pretty well maintained front garden.
I highly recommend this hotel for its great hosts, location and security.
We will defiantly return here.

The Winchester was the most wonderful addition to our seaside trip! As a building, it is beautiful inside and out, with much thanks to its staff for maintaining its traditional style and features. The owner and staff are so hospitable, with a welcoming warmth and great care we were always made to feel at home whilst also feeling thoroughly treated.
It is clear to see why The Winchester has guests who return year after year, but I can also say as a first time visitor that we felt just as welcome and so greatly appreciated the personal touches and care taken to accommodate and get to know us.
There is so much to say, but in short, we loved our stay at The Winchester, thanks to its superb staff, it’s amazing appearance, it’s ideal location, and its delicious food to name a few. Highly recommend and eager to return.

Best guest house, lovely comfortable rooms, clean, gorgeous food cooked. Host Sam&Gregg friendly and very helpful .would recommend . Close to amenities, seafront, shops, market. Close to pier entertainment. The rooms are nice light and airy. The hosts have decorated the hotel, but have saved the authentic features that this hotel has. Don't waste your money, go to The winchester.

We have stayed at The Winchester on a few occasions and have always found it excellent, the rooms are lovely as is the breakfast as we only stay B&B.
Greg is a very amusing man and we have had many a laugh in the mornings while having breakfast.
The parking behind the hotel is a bonus and is secure.
We enjoy it so much we are going again this Bank Holiday for a short stay.

Thanks Greg and Sam for making our stay so enjoyable, see you on Saturday

The owners Gregg & Samantha are a lovely couple, who work well together. Friendly from the start and nothing was too much trouble. I stayed there with an adult with learning disabilities , no fuss was made , they treated him as an individual. If there is something on the menu you don't like or can't eat, they will do their best to come up with alternatives. Samantha is a great cook , I am so full after just a week !! They have a small staff who are just as friendly and helpful. Lovely old house, tastefully decorated and furnished. Close to town , seafront and the railway station. Ideally placed. I would wholeheartedly recommend staying there. We met people who have been going for over 20 years.
