Wonderful stay over two nights with Carol and Gordon at the Dulaig. They are both fantasically hospitable and posess a wealth of information about the local area and the Cairngorms. The breakfasts are better than a 5 star hotel, with daily cooked specials whipped up in no time at all, in their kitchen. Would definiately recommend.

Lovely house and surrounding gardens, cosy room, amazing breakfast, wonderful cakes and scones, welcoming and helpful hosts. So many thoughtful little touches to make the guest welcome and the stay comfortable and memorable. One of the best BnBs we've stayed in and definitely the best breakfast! Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Dulaig as part of a wider Scottish trip and it was truly luxurious. Wonderful attention to detail, homemade bread, chutneys, jams, cakes and biscuits-the list goes on and on! The cooking is inspirational. The accommodation itself is so comfortable, with a wonderful garden. Absolutely everything had been thought of and I wouldn’t look any further, you’ve found it!!!!

We stayed here just before lockdown hit. It was such a lovely experience. From the warm welcome to being made feel like we could make the place our own home for our short stay. We were the only guests so had the luxury of having the very comfortable sitting room all to ourselves while drinking our complimentary G&Ts. Our room was great and came with a wee decanter of port and homemade shortbread, as well as a fridge filled with fresh milk and sparkling and still water. We opted for the room with the jacuzzi bath, which we enjoyed very much, followed by lounging about in our fluffy dressing gowns. Breakfast was stunning, a great spread including many home made delights and cheeses. The cooked options were an absolute delight. It was snowing the morning we left and we weren’t made to feel like we had to leave in a hurry. All in all a great stay.

We arrived late as we had some trouble with our car rental, and Carol and Gordon immediately started thinking of ways to help us. From helping us with food options around the area to booking for us, and introducing us to their wonderful neighbour Lindsay, Carol and Gordon are perfect hosts, and absolutely epitomise warm, sincere hospitality. They were truly concerned for us, and tried every way to help us with the rest of our trip. We stayed in the Benson room, which was amazing! The room was beautiful, the bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was huge, and even had a whirlpool bath! The stay was made even better with small touches like whisky truffles and a little cake fairy box, lovely toiletries, hot chocolate, coffee and tea, and a whole array of whiskies to try in the dining room. The breakfast was exceptional with fresh eggs from the hens in the garden, and local produce from the region. The location of the property is tucked away at the end of a quiet street, and they have a beautiful garden with ducks and hens. This was truly the highlight of our trip, and we would recommend staying here to anyone in a heartbeat! If we could give more than 5 stars for our stay, we would! Thank you once again, Carol and Gordon, for everything you did to help us make our trip happen!!

As soon as we arrived,Carol and Gordon greeted us like friends returning, even though we had met them for the first time. Walking into their home, it was so beautiful and welcoming. Carol and Gordon are one of the loveliest couples we have met so friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in ( Benson ) was really beautiful and not surprisingly immaculate as is everywhere. in the room was a mini fridge with fresh milk which is so much better than the cartons some hotels have, there is also Whisky truffles, with different Whiskies daily ! I had heard about the Cake Fairy and what other reviews had said, but we wasn't prepared for the sumptuous daily treats which was always in our room when we returned ! Luxury towels, bathrobes, slippers and sheets were all immaculate too. Carol and Gordon had exceptional knowledge of restaurants and places of interest to visit and will make reservations for your choice of restaurants. Breakfast ! we have never, ever seen so much choice of cereals, fresh fruit and cold buffet anywhere else we have stayed, endless choice of cooked breakfast too, not forgetting the muffins, breads and preserves baked and made that morning by Carol and Gordon and fresh eggs from their own beautiful chickens ! The garden is fabulous which has a summerhouse its own pond and ducks that will come to you for feeding, which is lovely. Carol and Gordon leave a tray of Whiskies,Gin etc. for you to have a nightcap should you wish. I can't really add anything else, a wonderful holiday a wonderful home and truly wonderful hosts, Thank you Carol and Gordon, for making our stay so perfect, we will see you next year !!

It was our last B&B on our 3 weeks trip and it was correct, the best comes at the End. The owner of the B&B are so amazing nice and they make you immediately feel welcome and coming home. The rooms are better than expected and the "cake fairy" has been already in the room before we arrived :). The "cake ferry" also looked after our Vegan living style and we have been more than surprised. The breakfast was amazing and all was cooked fresh and homemade. The decoration/style of all the rooms are so incredible and made with love! The view into the Garden with all the animals and flowers was every day a new perfect start into the day. The whole house is full of love and peace and it will be a place where we will go back for 100%. Highlands and The Dulaig will belong together for us now for ever!

Utterly amazing stay here. Just the best hotel experience I've ever had, bar none. The room: exquisite furnishings, full claw-footed bathtub (rose gold, no less!), perfect bed, and amenities weren't just the usual coffee and tea but also a visit from the "cake fairy" who leaves different treats every day. (I had a shortbread shaped like a squirrel and heavenly lemon drizzle.) The garden outside should probably win a prize for stunning beauty, and there are cute animals all around (such big hens! and ducks! and an otter family!). The food: best I had all trip, probably some of the best ever? Fluffy eggs literally straight from the chicken, unbeatable smoked salmon, homemade granola, homemade jam I wished Carole would sell in shops, homemade yogurt (!), fresh fruit salad--I wished I had two stomachs. The hosts: Carole and Gordon are just the most delightful, wonderful people. We came in muddy and a bit bedraggled from a hike and they just ushered us up to our rooms, took our boots to clean them (!), and then lit a fire and fed us a marvelous cream tea to get us warm. When I mentioned being interested in nature and birds, Carole and I had a wonderful chat about the local flora and fauna, and she made sure I had bird food to scatter if I wanted to feed any of the birds that visited the garden. Then she let us know what sorts of restaurants were in town, and phoned up the one we liked to make us a reservation. How can you even rate such lovely people? They and the Dulaig deserve a whole sky full of gold stars. Oh, and just a note: we are not vegan but another couple was, and Carole made certain their food was just as exquisite and tempting as anyone else's. I saw what was served and had some of the vegan menu the next morning--delicious! If you're vegan you should let them know ahead of time, but you don't have to do anything beyond that.

We stayed at the Dulaig for a couple of nights and were absolutely blown away by it. Set back from a quiet road, in the most beautiful grounds, the house is grand without being stuffy, and is decorated in the art deco style. Carol and Gordon greeted us in the driveway, and were the perfect hosts throughout - happy to chat and give recommendations for the local area. The rooms are decorated in a traditional style, in keeping with the house, but whereas this style can sometimes seem chintzy, here it just seems authentic. Treats, such as homemade biscuits and cakes are left in the rooms every day, as are decanters of sherry, and guests are welcome to help themselves to a selection of spirits in the dining room in the evening. Carol and Gordon made us feel part of their home - nothing was too much trouble. We were very sad to move on at the end of our brief stay, but hope we'll come back again soon. Thanks!

I couldn’t agree more with the previous reviews. This really is a very special B&B. We came to celebrate a “big” birthday and Carol and Gordon certainly spoiled us. Thank you both so much for a super stay and for arranging good weather for us! All best wishes Sue and Paul
