Situated one road back from the High Street, a mere 2 minute walk, this place was lovely, far, far better than some of pricier places we stayed at, even those that charged twice as much! The rooms are huge, both us and our travelling partners had 4 poster beds with power points either side, we had a large bathroom with stunning modern vanity, bath and shower over the bath as is common in the UK (there’s a glass pane to prevent water splashing everywhere), nicely tiled and upmarket fittings. Our friends had a similar size room, but with a smaller bathroom and shower only, our room was called Rowan, one flight of stairs up. Decor throughout the house was attractive and impeccable.

The host went out of her way to get and assemble a fan for me, there is no aircon in most places, only central heating, plenty of drawer space, two chairs and a table, TV, Nespresso machine and shortbread cookies.

The host was very nice, had a great sense of humour and very entertaining, she made a very nice cooked breakfast too. There is also off-street parking. My only negatives are the shower had weak water pressure and Wi-Fi speed was slow but the latter seems to be a problem everywhere outside the main cities. I would rate it 9/10, you won’t be disappointed.

Returned for a week's stay with Isla. Just as brilliant as before. From arrival to departure you feel totally at home and relaxed. All of the rooms are so beautifully decorated, comfortable, and there is so much attention to detail. Isla is a wonderful host and her breakfasts fantastic with so much choice - and the eggs are the freshest you can eat. Nothing is too much trouble and she will cater for any dietary requirements. The trouble is choosing what to have!!
How can you not enjoy a stay at this lovely place with such lovely people!
Thank you Isla - we'll be back!!

We had a great stay here in July 2022 in the Rowan Room. The bed was very comfortable in a big, bright room and there was plenty of parking. The bathroom has a shower and deep soaking tub with a jar of posh bath salts provided too. There were lots of little extras like that - pillow spray, nice toiletries, snacks, hot chocolate, etc. The owner, Isla, made us a delicious breakfast both mornings, even serving it a bit early on the last day when it made it easier for us to get to our flight (and some of the best coffee we had the whole trip). Isla was also very welcoming and chatty and it made for a great stay - more like being a guest in a friend’s home. Would highly recommend Strathallan.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Isla and Spencer were extremely attentive hosts and made sure our stay was as perfect as possible. Our room was spotless and contained everything you need for a comfortable stay. The area also has so much to offer from its picturesque walks, friendly restaurants and pubs and only a short drive to Aviemore with its fabulous scenery. We will definitely be returning.

We are so happy that you enjoyed your time here at Strathallan. Thank you for your kind words and we hope you'll come to stay again soon. There's so much to enjoy here, even in the winter. But nothing beats a lovely log burning fire and some drinks in the lounge. Happy new year and many thanks!

Fabulous B&B with amazing hosts. Room was immaculate and had everything you needed. It was a nice touch to have fresh milk and cookies in the room :0) Breakfast was superb....porridge perfect and the pancakes outstanding (cinnamon apples were delicious) Full Scottish was plentiful with lots of choice and really well cooked & served. Warm and friendly hosts genuinely made you feel like you were staying with friends and really go the extra mile for their guests.

The best bed and breakfast we’ve ever stayed in. Isla’s porridge is amazing, a different ‘special’ every day and that’s only the beginning of the wonderful breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. There were a lot of added extras too which we hadn’t expected like a pillow spray to help with sleeping and delicious shortbread in a jar. We wanted for absolutely nothing and if the fresh milk needed replacing we only had to mention it and it was done. Never were we made to feel that we had to go out and every night the stove in the lounge was lit for those wanting to have a change of scene from the bedroom. It was ideally situated, has free parking off road and decent Wi-Fi. I really recommend this wonderful B and B. We shall be back!

We had a fantastic stay here. Our room, pheasant, was spacious with a comfy bed, and ensuite facilities. Breakfast is served in a lovely room and are the best breakfasts in Scotland. The menu varies each day, with a choice of fresh fruit, cereal, before a cooked meal, the blueberry pancakes are definitely a good choice. Isla is the ideal host, helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Grantown on Spey is a good location to explore the Highlands and we would highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed here for an all too short night.
The room was perfect, spotless, comfy bed, coffee machine, interesting picture within!
Breakfast was also excellent, best porridge I have ever tasted, surely the Golden Spurtle awaits…
Owner was very helpful and chatty.
Overall I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if back in the area. Thanks

Oooo, I might put myself down for the Golden Spurtle, but I might need a few drinks before to calm my nerves! You were great fun and thank you for being so kind about myself and Strathallan. Come back and stay for a long break, you deserve it. (Keep in touch and let me know how your porridge making is going) Thank you again! Isla

This was our second stay, and won't be our last. It's hard to know where to begin. The breakfasts, rooms, facilities, little extra touches (sleep spray for example) were all out of this world. If you're going to Grantown, look no further for a B&B. All the wonderful reviews reflect what a fabulous host Isla is and are well deserved. We happily travel for 8 hours to stay here. See you soon Isla and Nic!

It was awesome to have you both back and I really hope you enjoyed your camping adventures after you left. I am also extremely happy you enjoyed the oatmeal too! Keep cooking and fine tuning it and you'll be entering into the Porridge making championships before you know it! Thank you for your kind words and you will both always be welcome back again.

What a beautiful winter stay at Strathallan! If you are looking for luxury with comfy home qualities then this is the place to stay. 4 poster bed was amazing to sleep in, layed in every morning. Sitting by the fire in the evening was so relaxing and the walks though the local forest were refreshing and invigorating.
The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Would come back again and again!
