Our first stay in the Lakes and planning to come more! Fantastic area which is pretty central to most amenities and for sightseeing. Parking was straight forward - free on roadside from 5pm - 10.00 and plenty of car parks outside these hours £6 for the day. Everything seemed well organised in the B&B and there was a relaxing atmosphere...

I returned to Somerset House on 21 June 2014 for a second visit: just an overnight stop. So pleasant to be greeted by Geraldine as an old friend. Kind advice was given on the best walking route to a party I was attending in Cartmel. The comfortable, neat room gave me a good night's sleep when I staggered back again....

I and my family have just returned today from a funeral in Cumbria and we elected to stay on overnight at this lovely b&b afterwards as it was too far to drive home. I telephoned the owners before arrival and explained that we were to arrive around noon and would it be possible to have access to our two rooms...

My wife, me and our little dog Lottie stayed at Somerset House from Wed 19 to Sun 23 Mar 2014, and what a delight it was too. Geraldine and David were excellent hosts and extremely helpful. Both being a wealth of knowledge about the local area and where to take Lottie for both short and long walks. Handy for all...

My husband stayed here early in December and asked me to post the following: ' very welcoming and quiet, clean and comfortable with a very good freshly cooked breakfast. A very quiet location and no disturbance in the accommodation. All very conducive to a good nights sleep. Would recommend to others.'

Really lovely couple make you feel very welcome. However the room I was in (2) was very dated and very tired. Terrible shower, no Sky (however very good Internet). Comfortable bed, good breakfast menu ( can't really comment on the food as I only had toast but it looked good), no secure parking but there is parking on the street...

Lovely clean and spacious family room with sea view. Dave & Geraldine were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast and evening meal were both delicious and all home cooked. Room was a little hot but all in all good nights sleep. Good central location with coast and park close by.

We arrived on the way back from staying in Scotland. Dave and Geraldine gave us all a warm welcome. Family room was lovely and clean with all the amenities. The breakfast was very nice. The location was perfect for us as Lake Windermere was about 7 miles away and Geraldine suggested the best way to take in all of Lake...
