Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is my go to hotel every year for my birthday. This year we popped out to Ambleside to the garden centre to see the Xmas display on the 2nd Dec. It's only 20 miles from the hotel, but because of the snow that fell that day it took from 12-30 until 9-30pm 9 hrs to get back to the hotel. Jack the duty manager rang us regularly to make sure we were OK. Saved our dinner for us and warmed it up when we finally arrived back at the hotel. We love everything about the netherwood hotel the atmosphere the friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back next year. Thank you.

We came to stay on the 11th November for the weekend, and I booked a massage with Kate and all I can say is wow. I have had a few over the years and I would 100% recommend Kate . I can’t wait for our New Years stay and having another massage. And if you want a Fantastic Hotel to stay look no further then this Hotel. All the staff can not do enough to make your stay the best. Looking forward to our stay Sue Dytham

Fantastic building and location overlooking Morecambe Bay. Good, clean and comfortable room. Lovely old building with character. Good service and food but shame that the menu didn't change daily. Just a few minutes walk to the station and promenade.

We have been coming here a number of years and have always left feeling it’s a nice place . Today we arrived and were placed in an annex away from the hotel . It was ok and we managed an upgrade for a small fee to a better room .Dinner was absolutely awful. Really we have better food in Witherspoons . Oven chips dry peas and an average gammon. £20 for a terrible salad . Drinks outrageously over priced . We complained to the waiter about the food he just walked away . Lovely location but it’s either cheap or quality this place is expensive and dreadful quality. It cannot survive delivering poor quality at absolutely top ££ very very disappointing

First time back at this splendid hotel since my daughter had her wedding there 10 years ago which I have to say was amazing, but I have to say it’s not looking as good as it was, I feel it’s looking a little tired in places some of the furniture in the lounges is looking past it’s best and grubby, our room was nice though, clean and comfortable, our evening meal was good but breakfast could of been better the food had obviously been cooked well before we went to breakfast, the staff were very pleasant, I just hope the owners don’t let it slip too bad it would be such a shame

A wonderful hotel located on the outskirts of Grange Over Sands with great views over Morecambe Bay and set in lovely, well maintained grounds. The hotel has very good facilities and well equipped rooms. Staff are allvery friendly and helpful.

Don’t let the exterior of this hotel deceive you! There’s no getting away from the beautiful exterior of this hotel, but my experience otherwise did not match up. My bedroom was very small and dated and I could hear everything from the room above including the occupants conversation and them using the toilet. I had a terrible nights sleep. The waiter in the bar was lovely and friendly but the food was mediocre at best. Parts of my dish were burnt, the fondant potato was solid and generally my food was just bland. I was staying at this hotel whilst working away on business but if I had booked this as a leisurely break I would have asked for a refund. The only positive thing I have to say about this hotel is the staff as they were all lovely especially the ladies on reception and the waiter working the bar in the evening.

I stayed here as a last minute booking, and they did not fail to succeed my expectations. I was able to bring my dog with me as this hotel is super dog friendly. This is the first time I have ever been able to have a night away and bring my dog with me and have no stress. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and just down to earth people. The receptionist Aleksandra was helpful and made us both feel at home from the moment we walked in. Dennis the bar tender took a shine to daisy and now they’re best friends he was lovely! Peter also provided exceptional breakfast service to us along with making a real effort to make sure we had everything needed. This is absolutely going to be our new favourite place to come and stay for a break. The bedroom is also catered for dogs the only downfall I had was being woken up at 4am due to loud noises in the corridor and staircases which did unsettle me, a different room away from the staircase would have been better however the positives from the stay outweigh this negative and this negative only. Absolutely amazing hotel

My Wife and I just spent 3 days here believing reviews of previous visitors. We were housed in the "Annexe", read Portacabin!. The best one can say is the hotel is "Shabby Chic". The food was at best average, not what you read when you look on line at their "sample menus". The menu did not change in 3 days and was at best plain. The hotel now seems to survive on Coach Tours for I would think a good part of it's guaranteed income. The staff were largely friendly, although reception were not interested when we complained about being put in the "Annexe". We will not be returning; shame because Grange and the locals we met were great. Alan Breadon
