Nightmare. When we did eventually gain access to property the man arrived in his bare feet. Didn't show us to our rooms. That was the last we saw of any member of staff. Tap very loose in one bathroom. The other bathroom was a joke. Bath all scratched, very little toilet roll, hand held shower with nothing to connect it...

We stayed overnight, staff great, friendly etc. Hotel could do with bit updating but if your after a reasonable cheap stay then it ticks the boxes. Breakfast fine. Piping hot. Under a mile to metrocentre. We just drove there and back although guy says buses taxis are plenty.

Me and my boyfriend booked Rowers as it was the cheapest on booking.com - £55 for both of us including full English brekkie. Yes, the hotel is dated but it's FRIENDLY, HOMELY and CLEAN! What more can you ask for for such cheap pricing. We had a drink at the hotels bar at night, pricey but the owners are friendly...

Struggling to see why some people have such a downer on this place. For £55 we got a very warm welcome, a clean comfortable double room, and a reasonable breakfast. OK the place may be dated and a little tired but it is easy to find, parking is free and there is a good supply of complimentary tea and coffee...

This is a very inexpensive hotel, with fairly basic facilities and I longed for a toolbox to do the minor maintenance jobs required around the rooms. However, the beds were comfortable (even my insomniac father slept well), Susan (cleaner, breakfast cook and pretty much everything else) was lovely and helpful. Free wifi, tea and coffee in the rooms, tv etc....

Where in this area do you get en-suite facilities and cooked breakfast for £30 pn? Granted it is a bit dated, but very friendly staff, clean room and hot water and ample parking. For this price you aren't getting the ritz, but for me good value. Been staying for a month now 3 days a week and going nowhere else....

Went up for the Great North Run. Made Fawlty Towers look good. No breakfast for runners. Owner seemed friendly, took our money and never saw again all weekend. Not sure where the professional photos were taken but it wasn't there. We drove by as we thought it was a boarded up building. Bathroom floor was filthy. Stair banister wobbly and...

I have worked away for over 40 years and never seen anything like this. The hotel, and I use that term very loosely as a dump would be a better description. To allow these people to advertise clearly under false pretences’ should be stopped. If it wasn’t for the fact that my colleague and I had been travelling for 18...

Book at your own risk.... Straight to the point, the room me and my partner stayed in what felt like the fiery pits of Mount Doom. After using the toilet we discovered the flush didnt work to which I thought "no number 2 for 3 nights." The radio by the bed looked like it was made in the 1930's and...
