Another great find in Gateshead. 4 of us for Sunday lunch. We went for 4 different roasts. Beef, lamb, pork & turkey. All came with Yorkshire pudding. All were very substantial, the meat was tender and cooked to perfection. Nice selection of vegetables & stuffings. Staff are very helpful and pleasant and made us feel comfortable right from the start....

Before I booked this hotel I read the reviews and I must say they were highly overrated. What this is, is an average old hotel/pub in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are old and dark (bathroom is really dark). But having said all the negative I will also mention the positive. The Wi-Fi worked really well. The pub is...

Pleasant, clean hotel close to the A1, convenient for Newcastle but surrounded by green fields for walking and exploring. Restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner if you don't want to go further afield.

Went this week for a family meal, latish in the evening. We had a range of meals and, although there was a wait, the wait was worth it. All were cooked to perfection; they were fresh and well presented. Portions superb, almost too much. The flavours chosen for the more specialized dishes all complemented each other well. Excellent and knowledgeable...

Chose this hotel as we wanted to break our journey home from Aberdeen and visit Beamish Museum. Lovely place to stay, with all bedrooms on a ground floor extension to the original building. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and hotel is located at the end of country lane. Breakfast was cooked to order with cereals...

Chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the Beamish Museum, Angel of the North and Metro Centre. We enjoyed our stay here, check in was quick and the staff pleasant. The room was a double room which was a good size with tea making facility which was very welcome. It was nice and warm with a radiator you...

We visited here when passing by as have done many times, ordered main meal consisting of chicken breast, this was left as tough as old boots, When this was mentioned we where told its now too late to do anything about it as you should have mentioned this before now, this a bit hard to do as kitchen staff seemed...

Sunday dinner is always lush. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff! Go every few weeks and it's always spot on! Get there early to get the pork as sometimes it's fine by the time we get there! Would definitely recommend!

Travelled up on business, this is an ideal stop over. Situated in a quiet location, got a good nights sleep. Room clean and airy. Facilities fine with Wi-Fi. Staff Friendly. Ate in Pub adjacent to the hotel- good pub fare, large portions. Unlikely to return on business very soon, but if I do, I would definitely look this place up-...

Staying overnight and I'm delighted. The hotel is a little tricky to get to- some twisty, narrow lanes BUT well worth it. Staff are lovely and helpful Room is clean and well appointed. Restaurant attached is great. Our evening meal was fantastic. Everything cooked fresh to order. Beware - be hungry! Portion sizes are HUGE!!!!! Food nicely presented and tasty....

Thank Ellen P
