We ate in The Ship a couple of times during our visit very friendly service and lovely food - I have dietary restrictions and also trying to cut down on fat... chef so helpfully tweaked the menu. The waiter was working so hard, but remained so cheerful - would highly recommend

Popped in for a snack and a pint. Beautiful old fashioned pub with excellent food and super staff. Atmosphere and decorations made it extra special. Time and care taken with Covid restrictions. Idea for couples and families alike.

Visited the Ship Inn for a drink. Service was appalling waited for ages. Was told they had forgotten. Dirty tables not cleaned. I think the peanuts were as old as the pub. After a while scruffy man told us to leave as we had been having brief conversation with American family about tiers as they had travelled down from London. He threw our bill at us and said to leave as he didn’t want us there spreading but he clearly didn’t mind taking our money. We were told to leave but the Americans were allowed to stay. He didn’t know how long we had been in Cornwall and nor did he want to. Do not bother going here unless you want to be treated like dirt. staff friendly but management need some training in customer service.

Called in on the off chance for lunch on a wet October afternoon, we were lucky, straight to a table, very efficient! We were close to the bar, so could see how efficient and safely the pub was being run. Two salads and a sandwich all very generous and tasty, beer and gins good too, all excellent. Cosy friendly pub. Would recommend.

Got a last minute table here for dinner, couldn't fault it. The service was perfect and the food was proper comfort food, from the Fowey river mussels, the fish pie and the baked camembert all were perfect. We hope to return when in Fowey again. Decor a little bit dated but don’t let that put you off.
