Bodinnick is not actually in Fowey, it's a ferry crossing away - £1.80 single for foot passengers and £3.60 for a car. The visitor's communal rooms have spectacular views towards Fowey as did our bedroom. We had a king size bed and a very small shower room en suite. The room was not the largest we've ever had, but very...

Wonderful location on the river Fowey at Bodinnick on the opposite side of the town - ferry runs frequently if you want to go across but finishes early in the evening so plan ahead, foot passengers are £1.80 a head per single trip. No returns. Cash only. The rooms are a tad tired and could really do with a refurbishment...

Just spent a short break at The Old Ferry Inn. What a quirky little place. Situated opposite the Bodinnick Ferry which runs across to Fowey, this traditional old Cornish hotel is a delight. Our room had a great view of the river, and we could watch the ferry and other boats navigate the river right out to the Fowey estuary....

We're fairly regular here but I want to write another review. Having sampled pubs and restaurants across cornwall and the uk 🙈 this remains the best most authentic roast dinner to be found anywhere. And in such a lively lication and venue. Winter in the bar ,full of warmth and character, or summer on the terrace with the best view...

I arrived for a 3 night break suffering from a migraine, the only food I thought I would be able to keep down was a trusted favourite pickle on toast (Yes I know for a lot of people it sounds disgusting, but it works for me). When I mentioned it to the bar man he arranged for me to have...

We have just returned from having a 3 night break with friends. We have stayed here before but thought we would shave the experience with our friends this time. Check in was simple and quick. The rooms were quite small but had everything you needed in them, very quaint. We have a room which overlooked the river, it was very...

We snapped up an offer on one of the discount sites and really enjoyed our three days.A bedroom view over the Fowey estuary, two super evening meals, plenty of good beer and a satisfied feeling at the end of our stay. Fowey,Polruan and Polperro were all nearby with great walks, scenery, narrow historic streets and atmosphere. Conclusion--a thoroughly enjoyable stay and well recommended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the banks of the Fowey River Estuary in the picturesque village of Bodinnick, The Old Ferry is a quintessential Cornish Inn that has been providing accommodation and refreshment for over 400 years. We overlook the Bodinnick to Fowey ferry which can trace its roots back to the 13th Century, and 'Ferryside' the former family home of Daphne du Maurier. The Inn with its relaxed and warm welcome has many traditional features including a wood burner and stone slate floor, and is full of old photographs, nautical bric-a-brac and memorabilia. The perfect place to while away time during the winter months. Our panoramic restaurant gives fantastic river views towards the town of Fowey and the village of Polruan. There are also south facing outside terraces which also have splendid estuary views, and capture the sun all day, a perfect retreat for a summers day. ... more   less
