Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Galleon Inn. They easily accommodated a change of date. The room was perfect, with a large, comfortable bed and a gorgeous view with a Juliet balcony directly overlooking the Fowey estuary. Breakfast was very good.

Nice spot for a few drinks, the view across the harbour was excellent. Minus one star as the staff were for the most part friendly but there were one or two I encountered that came across a bit brash.

Sat outside with views overlooking the estuary. Ordered food and drinks at the bar which arrived quite quickly. All the food was good, hot and not too expensive. Service was good and the waitress cleared our plates as soon as she saw the seagulls getting louder and moving closer! All staff were polite and helpful, we will definitely return.

Really great staff rooms clean well equipped. Breakfast good choices & very well cooked. But please give your waiting staff the respect they deserve by providing them with appropriate quality uniforms they are representing the Harbour group of hotels & to be served breakfast with staff wearing bleach stained polo shirts is hardly fitting particularly hotel logo across the back - such a shame .

Drinks on the terrace overlooking the river is just the nicest way to while away an hour, Polite staff, lovely and friendly. Immaculately clean toilets. Just a shame a customer sitting near us was so rude to staff about her dog not behaving and bothering people. Handled well by staff. Highly recommended.

A group of 8 stayed here for 2 nights while walking the Southwest Coast Path. We arrived tired, hungry and dirty and were shown quickly to our rooms. Some were a bit smaller than others which made unpacking 2 suitcases on the floor a bit tricky but that could have been because the beds were split into singles and therefore took up more floorspace than when they were "zipped" together as a Queen. Kirsty helped us take care of a few details (let us use the phone in the pub to make a call), made sure our luggage was picked up by the transfer company, and all the staff in the pub where we had breakfasts and a dinner were fabulous. We had an email warning us about the live band playing on one of the nights we were there. The music ended exactly when she said it would and the pub crowd were gone from the premises within about 15 minutes. Then it was just the sound of the waves and in the morning the gulls on the river. Lovely stay. Excellent location!!

Stayed for one night. Had an email after booking stating that this is a pub and we were to expect a certain amount of noise. Bearing in mind we thought we were to be staying in a 4* establishment we just expected maybe clinking of glasses etc. what we didn’t bargain for was our room being situated right above the drummer of the live band playing that night, whooping women screeching along to the songs, endless chants of “one more song” And then, at 23:45 (15 minutes after the advertised closing time) a rendition by the live band of happy birthday to a person called Amy.. to which there was so much more whooping, followed by yet another encore. Eventually the rabble left at around 00:45, then we were awakened by somebody slamming doors at approximately 06/06:30 to wait for breakfast which is only served between 08:30&09:30, I can only assume this is because of the late night beforehand for the management?? To be greeted by lovely ladies who proudly served up a cooked to order breakfast with undercooked sausages! Would not stay at this establishment again for £126 a night but Fowey and it’s locals are lovely.

Called in for a pint whilst wandering around this lovely little town. The pub has a great aspect with great views across the river. The bar was fairly quiet but there wasn’t a huge rush to serve us despite plenty of bar staff. The pint was nice but we wouldn’t rush back when next in the area.
