Located on the banks of the picture-perfect River Thames in Surrey, just 10 minutes from Windsor, The Runnymede on Thames is a modern hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. Inside, you’ll find a buzzy lounge and buffet style restaurant. Elsewhere, there’s the award-winning spa and a gym. Outside, discover the tennis courts, seasonal outdoor pool and river-based activities! Guests can explore Windsor at ease, thanks to complimentary transport between The Runnymede and Windsor.

*Throughout 2023 and 2024, The Runnymede will be undergoing a refurbishment, at the end of which it will be repurposed as a Warner Hotel. The hotel will be operating as usual in many areas. Please be aware that there may be changes to some facilities and the offering and the hotel may not always be looking at its best as there will be ongoing construction.

*Regretfully we will be unable to accommodate family stays. Children are still welcome in our public areas and in the grounds until we complete the transition.

I had a relaxing stay, but why, oh why, do the single rooms always have the worst views everywhere you stay! Single travelers are not hiding out please don’t shove us out the back. 😏 The main hotel is going through a grand refurbishment and I have to say my room really needs it. Stained carpets, tatty bathroom door and tiny wardrobe taken up by a rather large ironing board. On the upside the bed was large for a single, very comfortable and sparklingly clean. The bathroom was tight but very clean and had large fluffy white towels and great gels. The food at the Left Back carvery was as spectacular as always. You need to try it to believe it. You can eat as much as you want for a set price. Great quality and plenty of vegetarian options. The lounge with its fab log burner was a comfy place to spend a quite morning listening to an audio book and watching the river flow past all cosy on a very chilly morning. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have the balance just right. Being there when you need them and giving space to relax. I look forward to returning when the refurb is finished.

Enjoyable break. Great room with a bath. Loved the bar area for pre dinner drinks. Buffet restaurant delicious with lots of choices, lovely staff value for money for sure. Weather appalling, but when we went outside noise pollution over whelming from planes and traffic! Just stay in and relax!

Thank you for your review although I am disappointed that you rated us a 1 star for obtaining the money that was owed to the hotel. The charge that we applied to your room was for a previous visit and as we were unable to contact you we had no choice but to add this to your next stay with us. We did try to contact you several times but were unsuccessful and this may have been due to the email being taken down incorrectly or your profile being updated incorrectly for which I apologise. It is a shame that you would not recommend the Runnymede due to us obtaining payment for a stay with us. Kind regards Craig Spencer Resident Manager

My wife and I stayed for just the 1 night for our wedding anniversary on Sat night. Lovely hotel with a very nice lounge area where the centrepiece is a log burner. We were mate very welcome and had a drink before my wife then went to have a spa treatment. The facilities in the pool area were great with a steam room and 2 sauna’s, there was an ice cold water drip in but I wasn’t that brave !!! We had a great time. The evening dinner was also really impressive for a buffet. 3 courses and we were looked after in the lounge are by Jimmy who sorted an earlier sitting for us. The room was not the biggest but as we I love you stayed for the one night it didn’t really matter. We will definitely be returning as the setting is great , I can imagine in the summer it’s even better.

For a hotel in transition to Bourne leisure group it is happening seamlessly in the background. Guests will not be troubled by ongoing work. This is now an adult only hotel with future Warner packages available to book from around September next year. During the day the lounge is heavily populated with business people working and hopefully this model will disappear. It is hard to relax on a holiday break with all this going on. Indeed hard to find a seat. On the subject of seating, the chairs/sofas are very low to the floor and Warner guests will find it difficult to arise from their seats. The spa is clean and very well serviced and we enjoyed all the facilities available. Our room was a recently refurbished superior double. The bedside tables are hidden behind a wooden front and forgotten by the cleaners judging by the dust laden marble surface. The rest of the room and ensuite was clean and well appointed. Fluffy towels, bathrobes and spa slippers. Espa toiletries meant I could utilise them fully as I am allergic to cheaper ones. Border biscuits, galaxy hot chocolate and an expresso machine complete the picture. There are nine plugs located at floor level apart from one on the desk. Only two have USB ports. WE have eight devices all requiring a USB port so I can not understand why each plug was not fitted with a usb port. I as an octogenarian have them fitted in my kitchen never mind the rest of the house. There was a large screen TV but picture and sound of poor quality and sub titles didnt work.(I use these to prevent noise leakage to adjacent rooms )The lack of a table under the TV didn't work for me preferring the Premiere Inn model. With a table and usb ports plus plugs. This is no longer a business model so desk doesn't work for us and the light levels unsuitable for a dressing table mode. Breakfast was buffett style and excellent quality, the lady chef was able to outline the provence of the meat and nothing was to much trouble for her. Our waitress on three days was superb. Day four Friday service fell apart as she was off. The quality of the coffee now came from a jug and despite returning it remain dark and sluggish and undrinkable. My previous superb flat whites where horrible. Clearly we had barrista coffee on three days and the new waitress wasn't going to bother with going to the machine. We had guests and they sent their drinks back and reverted to tea. On the whole the staff in the hotel are very helpful. Shame Friday it fell apart at breakfast on the last day. I ordered a bottle of bin 156 on our first night as a celebration. I was aware of the 10 % service charge and the wine New Zealand Te Whare marlborough sauvignon at £41 a bottle. So So disappointing NZ sauvignons are my favourite. This was an insipid slightly acidic wine which was very poor quality. £45.10 in total and the worst white I have tasted in a very long time. A bottle of Ned at £10 being far superior. So we didn't order any more wines during our visit. Also Bourne leisure operates a "Cruise" concept and the 10 percent service charge will not be a comfortable fit.

Thank you for your very in depth review all the points of which I acknowledge. Your feedback is very useful, as we are indeed transitioning to a Bourne Leisure Group / Warner hotel. This does mean that the product and offering are for the next few months somewhat in flux and our product today is not representative of the final Warner Hotel p[product which will be launched in the autumn of 2024. I am, however, glad you enjoyed our buffet breakfast and you found Nicky, our chef to be helpful and the waitress on the first three days to be excellent although I m saddened the service dipped on the Friday which I have passed on to the Food and Beverage Manager for her to review with the team member concerned. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Kind regards Craig Spencer Resident Manager

Pros: - Staff were welcoming - Location was convenient - Rooms were clean - Room View on river - Gym facilities were great - Free of charge bottle of water in the room Cons: - Long wait times at check-in - Quality of the room was disappointing: > Low quality materials used for renovated room: cheap cupboards and drawers materials, shower Temperature Control Handle part fell despite normal/gentle utilization. > Bad design of the room: top of the cupboard doors rubbing against the ceiling preventing the doors to open properly > Safe not working > Burning water from shower despite decreasing the temperature as lowest as possible > Plane noise until 10pm or so > Low quality tissues in rooms

Thank you for your review of the Runnymede on Thames and I am delighted that you found the team welcoming and the location of the hotel convenient. I am also pleased that you found the gym great and that you liked the views of the River Thames from your room and the complimentary water. I am, however, sorry that there was a wait during check in; regretfully if a group arrive at the same time this does delay the check in process as there are certain elements of the check in that do take time , my apologies for any inconvenience caused. It is disappointing that you found the quality of the materials used in the room a low standard. I have passed on your feedback to the project team. If we had been made aware at the time about the safe not working and the shower controller coming off we would have been happy to send the maintenance engineer up as we would have been able to rectify these quite quickly. My apologies. Regretfully the great location of the hotel so close to the M25 and Heathrow means that occasionally depending on the runway being used for departing flights you can hear the background hum of the planes although the double glazing does reduce the sound My apologies for the shortcomings you experienced on this stay. Kind regards Craig Spencer Resident Manager

Happened to mention it We were brought celebratory deserts for each one! Thanks for making it special Our daughter and son in law were married here 10 years ago (which was a fabulous day)and was probably our last chance to visit with grandchildren before it becomes adults only We hope the hotel will be able to keep its wonderful service when it changes and look forward to breaks here with dancing

Family bday meal. All off is love coming back. Love the food but Lucia I think is the managers name. Wow the energy politeness, management skills back the restaurant run perfectly. Consideration to checking the table not pushing with drinks total attentiveness from the team. I work in hospitality and you a lucky to have this leadership skill. She is very consistent as has her hospitality before so hope to return soon to feel welcome and looked after. Thank you to the whole team of staff tonight

Had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful hotel for 2 nights. Such comfortable beds and pillows. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Big thumbs up 👍 to housekeeping! Staff friendly, professional and efficient. Great self-service breakfast. Beautifully situated alongside the Thames with lovely walks along the tow path. The weather was great and I enjoyed sitting at an outdoor table watching the world (and boats!) go by. This was my second stay at the Runnymede Hotel and it has been a 10/10 experience on each visit.
