We stayed overnight in a superior double on the first floor facing the road. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and the bathroom large with a shower over the bath. The bed was super-King size and comfortable and the only downside was some traffic noise, although not enough to be a significant issue. All very 'pleasant' - no wow...

My friend and I stayed at Speech House on a Travelzoo deal and had a lovely weekend. The hotel and grounds are well looked after and we enjoyed the meals we had in the orangery. There are some lovely walks through the forest which is literally on your doorstep.

I just wanted to thank Mr. Peter Hands for responding to my TripAdvisor review. We stayed for one night last Friday in a Courtyard Room. Good value and had concerns it might be cold as on booking we'd asked for a room in the main hotel. It was fine and warm. Food fine, breakfast was enormous, male receptionist was fantastic and very helpful, only criticism was the barman was not very helpful over the...

Family gathering in the area meant THIS was the only available accommodation, which is divided between the main house and the courtyard (recommended for doggies). Mine was a small room in the attic (second floor) of the main house for £115 per night b. & b. King-size bed, tea/coffee facilities, Freeview 15 inch tv, carpeted, dressing table but barely space...

Spontaneous drop in for afternoon tea. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed the ambience of the orangery. The menu for the afternoon offers a wide choice. All the food and drink we had was served in a timely manner and was very good.
