Travelling late towards Coleford came across the Lambsquay House and called in on speck. The welcome was warm and friendly and a meal was supplied even though they had officially just closed the kitchen. The food was lovely and even had some home grown veg, now that's fresh. Mike was an extremely engaging chap and very helpful. The bed was...

The service, food, welcome and customer-centred care were second to none. I had better service at the Lambsquay than at 5 star hotels in major cities. Breakfast was organised according to one's plans. I only had their full English breakfast (was out all day and evening) - which catered for all diets and included home-grown figs and other fruits. Lesley...

Staying away for business and was originally elsewhere, but though various reasons moved to the Lambsquay for my last 2 weeks. Stunning place, stunning location, Mike and his lovely wife made us feel very welcome and it was very comfy. Highly recommended. Mark.

We were very happy with our stay here and will probably come back again next year. The owner was so welcoming and accommodating and it was very reasonable value. We had a double room for us and a separate room for my son without paying the full price for two rooms and he didn't ask us for a deposit. The...

My husband, teenage daughter, and two dogs stayed here on the way to and from our summer holiday in Wales (travelling from Kent, so halfway). Originally booked because we wanted to visit Puzzlewood, until we realised it doesn't accept dogs! Instead we visited nearby Symonds Yat which we loved. Lambsquay Hotel was everything we needed for a stopover, and Lesley...

There are many good things about this hotel and a few poor things. I stayed in the Executive room. Pros: - Owners are very friendly and helpful - One of the better hotels in Coleford - Right next to Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves and the Secret Forest - Large bed - Large bathroom Cons: - Executive room is also called the...

This beautiful country house standing at a quiet crossroads in the forest was perfect for our 3 day getaway. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel as if we were being welcomed into a home. Rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Beds really comfortable after a long walk. Mike the owner was extremely knowledgeable and...

We were delighted with our stay at the Lambsquay. The owner was positively charming. Eating at the hotel was a pleasure (some of the food is grown in their own garden). Service by the staff was spot-on. The owner even gave us a ride in his car to the train station when we left. There is parking on the premises,...

Our family travelled from far and wide to celebrate our Grandson's Christening. We've stayed at the Lambsquay before so had no hesitation recommending to the rest of the family. As usual Lesley and Mike were extremely accommodating. We were allowed to check in 11am as the Christening was at 1pm. Our family occupied most of the hotel, our rooms were...
