Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was going to cancel my booking after reading some very negative reviews. However, we stuck with it . and i'm glad we did .The pitches are a great size and very well maintained . The dog walk area is the largest I've found on a campsite again cut grass and clean with a seating area and dog waste bin . I don't normally use site facilities but I thought if I was going to review I should .. Very clean shower block,.just a little tired. Nice welcome from a friendly lad.. Staff carry about their business very discreetly. Negatives .. the traffic noise from the dual carriageway.. we thought it was a peaceful site "tranquil' No barrier in operation but that didn't bother us .. proximity to Bath excellent! 8/10 for this site and we are fussy!! Oh I should add £30 per night large pitch with electric hook up and awning! Bargain compared to caravan and motorhome club site ..

We used to go to Plough Lane 2 or 3 times a year for about 10 years as we loved the site and its location. After a break of about 10years we returned. What we found really saddened us. New owners, extremely unfriendly welcome, mould all around ceilings in male and female toilets, only 2 out of 3 toilet cubicles open all week in both toilets, both toilets extremely difficult to flush. Chemical toilet emptying point cracked on all sides, only one of the 2 shower cubicles had a curtain. Although I was asked for a £10 deposit for a barrier key I never saw the barrier down and I never used the key, I also had a conversation with another camper who was querying in reception why he paid the deposit . The waste bins were constantly full with other campers leaving rubbish bags next to the bins. On 3 occasions while walking my dog I was asked if I knew what time reception was open as people wanted to check in or hand in barrier keys prior to leaving and they could not contact anyone . For some reason large shrubs have been grown over the drive over Motorhome emptying point. It is really sad to see a once lovely, friendly well cared for site get in this state. I certainly will not return or recommend .

This was once our favourite site. What a different story now under new ownership. The security barrier was never down and, as there was no staff or warden after around 5pm until the next morning, open to anyone to just drive in. Showers were feeble with unreliable push button controls. They were cleaned daily but if you looked up, the walls and ceiling were covered in disgusting mould . The toilets barely flushed. By the third day, one gave up and remained blocked and out of order. No one did anything about it so that’s how it stayed all week. The once immaculate pitches (which are lovely and spacious), were not well kept. Unbelievably, the path to the dog field was strewn with very nasty thorn bush cuttings. The bins were overflowing despite the site being only half full. There were all kinds of notices telling us to just speak to staff if there was a problem. But who? We were out during the day, being on holiday, and by the time we got back, they were gone! I shall be complaining to Tranquil Parks, their high standards are not being met.

We enjoyed our stay at this site. There is some road noise but that never bothered us. The showers are on a push button which some people have made comments about but they were hot enough and clean. Plenty of places to visit from the site.

7 nights at this site, easy to find just off of the dual carriage way, well I say dual carriage way, seemed more like a race track for the boy racers in their pimped up cars and on their motor bikes, the site was a nice lay out but our pitch was over grown, from the hedge at the back and a bush by the side, this made the pitch smaller if you didn’t want your van scratched. The facilities ( wash rooms ) were clean tidy, but could do with a freshen up. Very quiet apart from the road noise, reception was well presented and friendly .

We stayed on this site 4 years ago and this time we were disappointed. The site is neglected, grass not cut, brambles sticking out of the hedges by the pitch. One of the ladies toilets was out of order for the whole week. The dog field is not fully secure. Only 2 showers in the ladies and with 50 pitches, there would have been a queue if the site had been full. Just be aware that the site is next to the A350 dual carriage way. So very noisy day and night. Not a tranquil park.

Just arrived back from Plough Lane caravan site. Location is ok, it is near the dual carriageway and you can hear the noise of traffic but you do sort of get used to it. Lovely to be on an adult only site. Showers are a real problem. There are only 2 showers, they are push button and last for literally 5-10 seconds if that, so continuously pressing the button for water was VERY frustrating, so much so we used our onboard facilities after day 1.. Dog walk, could be so lovely.. but the grass cuttings and weeds are all being dumped in there in a number of compost heaps so not very pleasant at all. The stone path itself was also full of weeds. Location. You are driving out all of the time, so be prepared for that. Lacock is beautiful and extra special if you are a Harry Potter fan! Caen locks is a must see and lovely stroll. Raven Inn just down the road from Caen locks was superb for a spot of lunch. General site conditions are unkempt. We never saw anyone grounds keeping or maintenance in all the time we were there (4 days) which to us was unusual, we only saw the nice lady who welcomed us on arrival emptying the bins on occasions. Overall a nice stay, but we won’t be returning, mainly due to the facilities, conditions of the site and location, not just the noise.

This was meant to be a 5 star 'Tranquil' park site but was anything but. There was so much traffic noise coming from the A350 that was relentless throughout the night/ day. Very disappointed in the shower/toilet facilities. For a site with 52 pitches there were only two showers in the ladies. For a 5 star facility there were shower curtains and the shower itself was a push button that went off every 15 seconds or so which you had to then keep pushing, very annoying. The dog walk was awful. It was not fully enclosed (there is a sign to say this) and gaps in the hedges would allow your dog to escape onto the main road. A big gate leading to the back of the site was always open. The grass was not fully cut which made picking up dog poop difficult and was full of grass cuttings and tree branches. Our pitch was well maintained though and the lady in reception when we arrived was very friendly and helpful and lots of tourism leaflets and dog walk maps were available in the reception.

We've visitied this site before and it was first class, unfortunately though, it has been taken over by new people and is being left to run down. There are signs of neglect everywhere: eg 1 of 3 toilet cubicles in the gents toilets wasn't working for the 9 days we were there; the grass needed cutting; the hedges were all overgrown (the thistles behind our pitch were almost a metre tall). There was grass and weeds growing through the hard standings. It's such a shame to see such a lovely, convenient site being neglected! On a positive note, the toilets were always clean and the lady on reception was friendly and helpful.
