.... rather than after meal! 3 courses, wine and coffee, £85. Alarm bells first rang, when starters arrived within 4 mins of ordering. 'How could they have been prepare so quickly?' My grilled mackerel was only tepid - by design or lack of cooking? hardly 'grilled' though! The duck starter was cold and enquired after the meal whether that was by design, it was but I my view having tasted it, duck was not nice cold, my wife though enjoyed it. Mains then arrived with 2 mins of clearing starter plates, my rare sirloin steak (very thick for a sirloin?) was tepid and raw - I kept quiet, to avoid making a public fuss - my big mistake. Certainly not much been spent on gas! Whole event over in an hour! Rushed or efficient? felt rushed, given the cooking quality. Informed staff of my disappointment when paying and was told I should have said something at the time - but the rather brisk service and tepid fish had put me on the back foot immediately, and by the time the steak arrived and I was already regretting my visit!

From the moment you enter into the premises the staff welcome you with real warmth and attention. The premises caters for families and large parties; we attended a wedding. The decor has a tranquil romantic feel, with hanging lights and exterior building having history. The room are spacious with decor modern which blends with the ambiance. Regardless if you are with a large party or as a couple /family; the place suits all taste with surrounding garden and patios to chill out. This is one place to recharge ones energy and feel great Staff that made us feel so welcoming was Charlotte and Sasha; fantastic service. True ambassadors to your lovely establishment. They show so much passion and drive 10/10

Very disappointing family meal. Chicken and leak pie without any leak, and the pie needs to be about 3 x as big. Sorry but I left hungry. Madeira sauce that tasted like plain gravy. Waiter took our pudding to 2 other tables before guessing it was ours. All rather over rated with inexperienced staff who don't know what to do when they ask you if everything's OK and it's not.

We’ve been staying locally and were recommended to try Bickley mill. So glad we did!!! A lovey welcome and fabulous atmosphere. We dined with 2 small children that were catered for very well. All food was superb and we felt it was all very good value for money. We booked again for our weeks visit. I feel terrible for not getting her name but the girl who was running front of house was particularly excellent. She was very very good, a real asset to the place. We eat out regularly both as a couple and with our children and next time we visit the area we will DEFINITELY be back!

Stayed here for my nieces wedding - absolutely lovely place to stay. Weather was beautiful which made the wedding wonderful. The room we stayed in (Tayhor) was on the ground floor and was nice and cool in the recent heatwave. It had french doors which were a godsend to have open at night whilst sleeping. Bedroom was a good size and bathroom had ample room. Power shower in the bath. The only thing that I would say is the mattress was too soft so I did not sleep well but other than that it was a lovely room. Room Has wardrobe, dressing table, mirror, tv and hairdryer. We ate in the restaurant on our first night there with the family - menu has a good range of choices to choose from. Good. Choice of wines and all the usual drinks on offer at the bar. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good choice of breakfast items on offer as well - cereal, croissants, yoghurts, juices and then full English and also a veggie option. Grounds that the mill are set in are beautiful and very relaxing. If you want to go to the beach Teignmouth, Torquay and Babbacbe are all on the doorstep. I would stay here again for a relaxing and unwinding weekend.
