Lovely hotel and country pub. Great food in the evening. Very helpful about leaving breakfast for us as we had any early start. Very comfortable beds and lively rooms. Would return for a more relaxing weekend.

From the moment we walked through the door to when we left the next day, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast it's safe to say is THE BEST ever. Just brilliant. Log fires very welcoming Taxis ordered, drinks in the bar after the party at the relatives house was over. Just fab. Very personal service. Couldn't fault the Old... More

Recently came back from a second horse racing jaunt here after having had such a great time last year. (Handy for Newton Abbot & Exeter Races). The choice of food and drink was very good so did not even have to think about going somewhere else for an evening meal. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful and when... More

After arrival we went to have a shower only to find that room 8 only has a hand shower on bath tap also water trickled out. Spoke to reception and they were unable to offer any help. Talking to other guests they did not have this problem. Next morning I spoke with Manager who advised that the bathroom has just... More

Perhaps a little off the beaten track for some people but we loved this beautiful historic building. The rooms are freshly renovated with comfortable, modern furnishing. Only Point of criticism with the room was that when the people above us trampled around (seemingly all night) it could be heard below, but that is part of staying in such a building... More

Good local atmosphere with Otter beer on tap a particular highlight. Food is simple but not too bad. The village is fairly small and typical of the type but well worth the detour through some fairly narrow roads but beware meeting a bus. You will not get past! Well worth a visit.

We stayed at the Old Church House Inn for one night on the 4th August. It is a delightful old building and our room was a large double aspect bedroom with a small sitting room attached. The en suite looked new and was spotlessly clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the meal we had in the evening... More

Could not fault this place. It's in the middle of nowhere, totally quiet location on a dead end road. It's a wonderful old rambling building with great charm and character. One HUGE inglenook in particular. The welcome could not have been more friendly and we were shown to our room ( number 5 ) which actually was two rooms, with... More

We decided to take a short break this week to the glorious county of Devon, on the South Coast. Not having travelled to that part of the world previously, we did what most people do nowadays, and trusted to an Internet review to find the Old Church House Inn. What a lucky break that turned out to be! The Inn... More
