Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a good stay and great walks which turned out to be our last walk with our beloved dog. The gift voucher for breakfast couldn’t be used as we wished, although dog friendly pods the cafe wasn’t ??? So we had to order to go, typical Scottish weather we couldn’t sit out sad it was cold n wet. The weekend came crashing down when we were booking out. It asks you to strip the bedding which we didn’t mind. The pillow protectors were stained (nice) We sat all the bedding in the big bag outside. The house keeper came up to the pod and took the mattress protector back out along with the duvet cover. We both looked at each other in shock as she said she only changes these every other day…. What!!! Surely this should be after every guest as you would expect. Disgusting. What else is being skipped. Sorry that has just stopped us returning.

Absolutely wonderful couple of nights away over the New Year with my partner and our German Shepherd. We stayed in Loch Venachar lodge which had a pretty generous sized en-suite loo/washbasin/shower. Pod/lodge was larger than we expected with a double bed, limited kitchen area and a large sofa bed, as well as a fold out table and chairs. Very comfortable for the two of us and a large dog. We arrived in the dark and the snow, after a slightly dicey (due to weather conditions) last part of our drive up from Yorkshire. We’d had a phone call from Janet in the morning warning us of the expected snow and advising us to arrive as early as we could which was great. We arrived to toasty warm accommodation, to the extent we were trying to turn the heating down within ten minutes of arrival, absolutely no complaints! Had a lovely walk up to Brenachoile Point on NYE - glorious scenery everywhere you look. Overall absolutely fantastic couple of nights - we will definitely be back, though will be out of main season again, the lodges/pods are pretty close together and the local walks are obviously popular even in winter. Only an issue for us as our dog is a rescue who is reactive so we try to opt for as much space and solitude as we can. Thank you for a wonderful New Year x

The cabins are quite basic but it is what I expected. Having said that, they were warm, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. The setting is stunning opposite lake Katrine with beautiful walks just outside the door. I can imagine the summer would be beautiful and there’s a bbq outside. Great value, cosy, budget accommodation. Absolutely no complaints. I will return.

We stayed in our motorhome in the car park with electric hookup, the site was generally quiet except for another camper van who’s alarm went off every hour of so through the night. WiFi was down for the evening due to the storm, but was back up in the morning. Staff were really helpful. We also went on the boat cruise and had pizza from the cafe.

Loch Katrine eco camping was a fabulous experience, despite the rain! We can't speak highly enough of the staff who are courteous, friendly and so helpful and informative. It's a stunning location, peaceful beautiful. The sail on the SS Sir Walter Scott was so informative, full of character and history not only of the ship but also the surrounding areas. We stayed in the Glen Finglass Eco Lodge which is so comfortable. Whilst it has a toilet within it, please don't be put off but the 20 meter walk to the shower block. You have your own named showering facilities for your personal use which is warm and comfortable. It's less than an hour away from Glasgow with a stunning drive, we took the Duke's Pass from Aberfoyle but the Callander route is equally beautiful. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked it for other family members to enjoy.

Fantastic pods at the side of Loch Katrine. Our pod had a bathroom and kitchen area, a double bed and a sofa that could be made into a bed so could have slept four although it was v comfortable with just the two of us! Bedding and towels were provided along with a lovely welcome pack with bread, milk and breakfast bits including eggs and cereal. We hired a gas barbecue and cooked our meals on our balcony which overlooked the loch and the steamship. Plenty to do and see around the area. Phone signal is a bit patchy but not a problem for me as it just added to the tranquility Wifi is available, and there’s a tv inside the lodge too. The weather was so good when we were there that we spent most of our time outdoors. We hired electric bikes from the shop on the pier and cycled along the quiet road at the side of the loch - highly recommended! I’m very unfit but the bikes made it easy to do a 15 mile ride - you’ll be amazed how much you enjoy it! Boat trips are available too with friendly staff who tell you about the local area. And the steamship Sir Walter Scott will be up and running soon which seems like a good excuse for me to go back! Midges are starting to bite so get some repellant from the shop on site or from Callander

2 nights in the pods. These pods were brilliant after 3 nights camping. This was definitely luxury. The pods have kettle, toaster, sink, microwave & fridge. With bunk beds and sitting area which goes in to a bed. You Also have your own shower room with a private toliet The only downside was check in wasn’t till 4pm and check out was 9am which is far too early. .

Fabulous little eco lodges tucked away on loch Katrine, with great facilities, and absolutely stunning scenery, offering bike hire and boat trips on site as well as being ideal for Ben A’an if you are looking for climb. The lodges were comfortable and clean and offered microwave and toaster, we opted to pay more for a bedding pack, also had a picnic bench and telly! We also had our our shower and toilet block which we thought was a great idea. We will return one day!

We booked 2 en suite pods and stayed here for 3 nights using itison vouchers which included the breakfast pack and cruise. Although it was a lovely location beside loch katrine and the staff were so lovely and helpful, the pods didn't really live up to expectations as they were badly laid out, they were very close together with no privacy at all from people walking/cycling by or the neighbouring pods. Inside the layout just didn't work, with glass doors on the en suite with no locks, cooking utensils were very limited, no cleaning equipment apart from a small dustpan and washing up liquid and no welcome book to tell you local activities, restaurants or emergency doctors/vets etc and no WiFi although they do give you passwords but the best reception was outside the cafe, which is a short walk away from pods. The bed and couch weren't too comfy either... The parking was another issue, there is only one space per pod but our neighbours had 2 cars and we got blocked in and the second night someone stole our space, so we had to park in the main carpark. For the price we paid it wasn't really worth it, as they charged extra for dogs and weekend stays. The breakfast packs weren't very good either, it contained eggs, weetabix, cornflakes, 1 bottle of orange juice, teabags, coffee, semi skimmed milk, sugar, jam, 2 small bottles of wine and a small loaf of bread. Vending machines were switched off, cafe closed early and the shop was very limited so definitely wouldn't like to come out of season. It is a beautiful location and we enjoyed our cruise on the rob roy and our walks along the loch. The money does go to charity that runs the steam boat so we can't grudge it all. It would be ok for 1 night or 2 but no more and not a full weeks holiday. Could be a wonderful resort if they spent a little attention to detail.
