Detailed Reviews
We booked this farm stay over the internet, staying in Anna's Cottage, a very well-equipped two bedroom cottage, close to many tourist attractions in Devon and Cornwall. Richard and Christina made us very welcome, we felt that the site was following all Covid guidelines and very much enjoyed the fresh farm eggs, from the Chickens who often walked past our door (donations were welcomed for the RNLI). We also enjoyed meeting the rest of the animals. The welcome package included two fresh scones, jam and clotted cream, which went down a treat too! We hope to come back again another time, to enjoy the hospitality and perhaps even be able to shake hands with our hosts! Thanks again for a lovely stay, Richard & Claire.

Very good stay in the parlour cottage over Christmas 2019 at West Woolley Farm. Extremely clean cottage with two separate bedrooms. Kitchen was fully stocked with all required utensils (cafetiere, garlic crusher etc.!) Richard and Christina put a small driftwood Christmas tree in the cottage for us with a few chocolate baubles (lovely personal touch). We were also offered a number of fresh eggs from the resident hens. The nicest thing was probably the note from Richard giving suggestions for what to do in the area in particular on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We would love to return soon.

We’re just back from a fabulous break with our two kids (2 and 6), and everything at The Stables was excellent. The cottage was spotless; a cream tea awaited us all after a long drive; and there were so many thoughtful touches including fresh flowers - making our first break since lockdown such a delight.
The kids loved waking up to feed the animals and do their ‘chores’. To be so interactive with the goats, pigs, chickens and ducks made their holiday - thank you Richard & Christine for giving these city kids a chance to get their hands dirty and enjoy your beautiful farm.
Having the play barn filled with tractors, balls and a table tennis table meant even the rain didn’t ruin our fun!
West Wooley Farm is in a great location, mins from the beaches with great pubs and attractions within an easy drive.
We will most certainly be back when a few more local attractions are open to explore.

Where do we start? We honestly couldn’t have asked for more!
We stayed in Parlour cottage from 17-24 September with our son who is 2 years & 5 months old. Parlour was ideal for us as it has no stairs/is all one level. A double bedroom with shower & toilet for us, & a twin room with family bathroom for the little one, with the option of a cot & a single bed with bed guard all set up ready for us. Also provided at no extra cost were a highchair & booster seat. The bed was THE comfiest bed I have ever slept in with the softest of bed linen! Having the single bed option with the cot meant that I could quickly get some more sleep the odd time our son woke & needed me to comfort him.
The cottage is super cosy, really clean & has plenty of space to cook, play & relax. The lightest, tastiest of scones, jam, cream & fresh strawberries awaiting our arrival (so tasty we went to buy some more during our stay!). Richard & Christina cover everything you could think of - wetsuits, wellies, BBQs, buckets & spades etc are all available to use free of charge & covid restrictions are covered whereby any borrowed items are returned to a quarantine area after use. The cottage was very clean & cosy.
We thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals every morning especially as we were the only guests with a child staying this week, our son got to know all the animals names & was particularly taken with Halfpint the cat & Chilli the pig! We all really enjoyed the morning routine, Richard & Christina made us feel really welcome, they helped us interact & explained so much about the animals.
The farm location is so peaceful & tranquil, & yet it’s a really straightforward drive in to Bude. Plenty of fantastic options for eating out (we tried The Deck, Life’s a Beach & La Bocca), a great children’s playground, ample car parking & wonderful sea views, beach etc. We managed to get out to Padstow, Polzeath, Sandymouth & Widemouth beaches during our stay too. So many great places to explore!
We highly recommend West Woolley Farm, luxurious accommodation with farm animals for all ages to enjoy, & great local attractions. We can see why families return year after year & we really hope we get to do the same! Grazie mille Christina 😉 & Richard!

We stayed in the Shepherd's Cottage for a week in August and had a fantastic stay.
Upon arrival, there were lots of thoughtful and personal touches such as fresh flowers and a lovely Cornish tea. Richard met us and talked us through the cottage which had everything we needed. The cottage was impeccably clean and the equipment in the kitchen was great quality. Being able to use bbq equipment and having access to laundry facilities was a real perk. Richard and Christine are taking every precaution during this difficult time, and it really shows.
The daily morning animal feeds, whilst loved by some of the younger guests, was also loved by us 'kids at heart'. It's a wonderful way to start the day.
Lots of great beaches that are only a short drive away, and some great country pubs.
Richard and Christine were really helpful and quick to respond to any queries we had. We look forward to coming back here in the future!

We had a great time in the Mill House with our two children. They throughly enjoyed the animal feeding in the morning and its was a great incentive for them to go to bed on time the night before.
While the typical wet and windy English weather was very much present for our holiday we still managed to find plenty to do and we used the well stocked play barn when we decided to stay in the cottage and relax.
Having two smaller children we didn't use the wetsuits on offer but made several trips to the beach and made sandcastles in the rain and wind.
The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch, and the spacious cottage was very well stocked and had everything that we would need for a family holiday.
Our favourite day out was to the Hidden Valley Discovery Park.
We didn't really know what to expect but found that it delivered on every aspect and we would have stayed longer but the rain decided to make a spectacular appearance.
We hope to visit West Wolley Farm again soon.

West Woolley Farm was recommended to us by friends and lived up to their praise. We stayed with our 15 month old son in Mill House for five days. It was a brilliant holiday and from the moment we arrived (to beautiful fresh flowers and cream tea) we strongly regretted not staying longer! It was a really good set up for a family, clean and comfortable with a cot built for us before arrival, a high chair and child friendly crockery, and a sturdy stair gate.
Richard and Christina were wonderful hosts: full of information about beaches, tides, and currently open attractions, and kind to our exuberant toddler. Our little boy had a blast chasing chickens and playing with the frequently cleaned toys in the play barn. We were able to borrow everything to enjoy the beautiful local beaches with a rigorous cleaning process in between use. We even got to try the fresh eggs from the farm.
There’s plenty to do in Bude and the local beaches and we had a lovely time exploring (and using the magnificent sea pool in Bude). A great family holiday.

We have stayed in many self-catering accommodations over the years and this rates very highly on my list of return visits. We stayed in Shepherds a property for two. It's furbished to a high standard and clean tidy. The cottage was private and slightly away from the other properties All what you could need for the stay including the use of body boards and wetsuits.
The farm is a few hundred yards from the main road so no small narrow lanes to reach the property and definitely road noise. Great place book it but leave a week for me.

A wonderful relaxing beautiful stay in the gorgeous Shepherds cottage.
The cottage is gorgeous with everything you could possibly need and with some wonderful additions of a tasty cream tea, flowers, free range eggs & fresh milk which were very welcome after a long journey from Northampton.
The bed is ridiculously comfortable and huge and I had the best weeks sleep ever, there are also lots of clothes hangers in the wardrobe which is fantastic as you only get a few everywhere else I’ve been.
The cottage is cosy and spotlessly clean and very covid friendly and I also loved all the eco products such as hand wash and washing up liquid.
The animal feeding in the morning is great fun with the cheeky goats, pigs, chickens and the running ducks. If you have small children or even big they will love the interaction.
Christine and Richard were very welcoming and happy to help or advise with anything. The view from the cottage is beautiful and you are only a short drive away from beautiful Bude and Sandy mouth a beautiful beach.
We loved our stay and will return very soon. Thank you so much.

Our first ‘family’ holiday with a 2 year old and 7 week old baby and we’ve been totally spoilt at West Woolley Farm.
Christina and Richard have thought of everything and have it all covered from cots, baby gates, baby baths, kids plates and cutlery to the daily animal feeds where the kids get involved and get in with the animals to the fabulous barn full of outdoor toys, it’s been great. They even have wetsuits, wellies, boogie boards, buckets and spades and all the ‘extra’ stuff that usually adds up for anyone to borrow 👍🏻
The accommodation is spotless but still manages to feel relaxed. We stayed in the Stables and my sister and her family opposite us in The Mill and we all felt safe and relaxed throughout. Couldn’t recommend this place enough and hope to be back soon.
