The cottage is lovely, but it is down a long 1 mile private off road, it is rural so no shops nearby 16 mins drive to the nearest shops.

The house itself is well equipped for self catering.
The smaller room becomes very hot in warm weather and the upstairs of the house. It would be nice to have a few fans provided also.

There is lots of dead flies on the carpet but this is for a reason but was a pain cleaning them daily and spraying them but fly spray was provided.

The host Rebecca was lovely communicated well and even lent us a wet suit for my son. She also quickly replaced the broken soap dispenser.

We very much enjoyed our recent stay. It’s a lovely area and we had great days out while there. The cottage is comfortable and could only be improved by a few small things including storage/shelves in the bathroom and more lamps. Being a cottage it has small windows and felt quite dark. Not a fan of overhead lights. Would recommend a stay, we really did enjoy the surrounding area very much. The host was very prompt with communication etc.

We booked this trip for a multi-generational family holiday and it did not disappoint.

Rural which is exactly what what we were expecting as it mentioned on all the details on the website so we were not surprised by its location.

Lovely accommodation, and the room layout was just perfect for us, so the grandparents had a separate are to sleep from the rest of us.

We had absolutely everything we needed, it was a lovely grounds to walk round and we could also explore Devon/Cornwall.

The owners could not be more helpful, I needed something towards the end of the week and they came over with what we needed.

I have read the other reviews in shock and I wonder if people should do more investigation into their holiday before they book.

Would highly recommend and will be returning.

Stayed here on a last minute holiday - best decision ever! Lovely, peaceful hideaway yet perfect for exploring North Cornwall. Lots of trips along the coast and particularly loved Bude with its sea pool and also great cycle routes inland (along canal to lovely cafe). Did so much exploring based on recommendations leaflet found in the cottage. Owner was welcoming and helpful yet unobtrusive. Kids loved the shared outdoor space, especially the table tennis. Imagine it’d be perfect for multi-generational getaways. Our dog loved all the walks and there are loads of options close by and from the cottage. Great local food options, especially the fish shack at the local beach (get there early!). Also popular & good coffee & food was Little Pig cafe and farm shop (Amazing apple juice).

Myself and my two spaniels came down for a weekend to get away from normal life. This beautiful cottage in a remote part of the beautiful countryside was perfect for a peaceful escape. Newly furnished, the amenities were exactly what you would need for a self-catering break. There were two good size bedrooms with comfortable beds and much better bedding than I have at home! 20 minute drive to the beaches, including a sea pool, and lots of delicious places to eat. All very dog friendly. We had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend a stay!

It’s such a beautiful rural location. We come back time and again to enjoy the Cornish countryside and all the wonderful walks available on the doorstep. The beaches are a short drive away offering fabulous surf which my family love. For me, there is nothing I love more than a tranquil setting, enjoyed from a comfy sofa with a glass of wine and a good book. Can’t wait to visit again very soon.

We chose The Stables for our multigenerational 50th and 80th celebration. Very high quality throughout and well equipped. Plenty of space for all. Lovely starter pack on arrival and nothing too much trouble for our hosts. Rural, tranquil location at the end of a long drive. Plenty of ideas of things to do. We found some hidden gems in the Visitor book too!

Very very rural location. We stayed in The Granary for a week. The cottage is well equipped but lacks shelving, especially in the bathroom. (I had to put toiletries on top of radiator or on the floor), it also lacks finishing touches. The main problem was the damp, musty smell especially in the kitchen which was worse when cupboards were opened. I Can’t comment on the hosts, as I never saw them!!!!

Although it was very very rural the accommodation was okay, did not like the smell of the house musty and old. The house itself was well equipped but had a problem with flyers. The host was very friendly.
