Bude Coastal Resort earns rave reviews for its prime location near the beach and its high cleanliness standards, with guests consistently praising the immaculate lodges and grounds. The accommodations are well-received for their tasteful decor and well-equipped rooms, although some guests find the bedrooms a bit snug.
The resort's amenities, including modern lodges and pet-friendly touches, are popular, but there are mentions of high costs and limited pool hours. While the service is often highlighted for its friendliness and efficiency, the value is sometimes questioned due to steep utility and amenity charges.

We stayed in Crabtree 4. The resort staff kept us informed prior to arrival regarding the Covid measures and sent a text the day before with the code for the keybox at the front of the property. Once inside you text reception to let them know you have arrived and scan the QR code for NHS app. The property was lovely and clean, the remote controls were in sealed plastic bags with confirmation that they had been sanitized. The property is an upside down one and the only problem with that is the second bedroom is underneath the living room of another property which meant there was a lot of noise transfer. The bathroom was very modern. The sofas are very uncomfortable, in fact the base was broken on one of them so we had to put a cushion under the cushion in order to sit on it. Very well equipped with good quality kitchen fittings although we could not find a dustpan but there was a broom. The fridge was a little on the small side and we could not fit all the food we had brought with us in it. The approach drive badly needs resurfacing, I don't understand why this was not done during lockdown as that would have been the ideal time. We did not use the pool or cafe because of lockdown. The site is very nice and well kept and the location great with a large supermarket very close by and easy access to Bude. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to a family emergency but would stay here again.

Visited this week with my Brother his kids and my Mother and Stepfather. We had been to the park before so finding it was not an issue. Driveway is potholed but frankly not an issue for me. Arrival was smooth and ahead of time.. we were in by 2pm. Initial impression was very positive the grounds are very well kept and grass cut etc. the property Trevanon1 was very clean and tidy. 3 bedrooms well appointed and good clean linen. Layout was ok although I thought the master bedroom which was very big could have had an en-suite. I slept in the living room on the sofa bed.. initially not finding it on night 1 so slept on sofa. Note to self look under all the cushions not just under the end 2.
The kitchen is well equipped although I think the fridge is too small for 8 people..we planned to eat in most nights so it was fortunate we hadn’t brought all of the food or we would have had an issue.
The hot tub is a nice addition since I was last there and the kids loved it.. even the big kids spent a lot of time in it. The weather wasn’t great this week so it was good to be able to relax and spend time in the house.
The pool was great we booked to use it on 2 occasions and each time it was very clean and great for swimming.
The only frustration I had really was the WIFI which was not great.. trying to watch a movie and it would freeze at least 5 times which gets annoying when you are trying to concentrate. We re-set it a number of times but no help. I realise you are not on holiday to watch TV but when the weather turns against you it’s a good option to keep the kids entertained.
All in all this was a great holiday, we visited Padstow, Newquay, Mevagissey and The Eden Project. The beaches in Bude are great and social distancing seemed well observed. Sandy mouth beach was also a trip we made although 2 things to warn... it’s a hell of a walk to the beach from the car park at the top... and there is no Sand it’s shingle not the most comfortable.. however it was beautiful and the sea was stunningly clean.
Thank you Burn Park we had a great time and we will be back.

Dear davidg282, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased that you have enjoyed your recent stay with us and made good use of the hot tub and swimming pool. It is a shame that you must have visited Sandymouth beach at high tide as when the tide is out you can experience the full expanse of beautiful sandy coastline. Next time you are staying with us feel free to enquire with reception about the tide times for the day and we will be happy to advise. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards, Reception Burn Coastal Retreat

Visited here for a short break with the family. It is in a nice setting off the main road down a broken track, surrounded by fields and trees. It is a 15 min walk into Bude.
On booking in a £100 deposit was taken for the hot tub, which I was happy with and is standard in a lot of places. What wasn’t mentioned was that this deposit would be held for 10 days. This far out ways the two night stay and inspection that was done on the morning we checked out. This process needs speeding up or changing.
The lodge we had was clean functional and homely. The beds were firm in a comfortable way and the bedding cosy. There is free wifi on site but is very slow but with Vodaphone you get 4G if you need it.
Everywhere is buggy and wheelchair friendly.
I would recommend going buy the deposit situation got my back up a bit.

Potholed drive gives a poor first impression. Bar and public areas nicely decorated, however bar was devoid of customers which meant it had no atmosphere. Having been a Seasons member for over 20 years, I feel that our loyalty should account for something however we always seem to be allocated the worst accommodation on every site we visit. Our accommodation this time was ok but dated and certainly not the 5 star standard we had been promised on purchase.

Dear Rosemary H, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am sorry to hear that you are left disappointed after your recent holiday with us. As a self catering resort we do find that sometimes our bar area is busier some weeks than others, however we do endeavour to provide welcoming areas for our guests to enjoy should they not wish to cook in their accommodation. The vast majority of Burn accommodation has now been refurbished and we are continuing to work on the remainder of our lodges during 2020. If you would like further information with regards to the allocation of your accommodation please feel free to speak with a member of the team during your next stay at one of our resorts. We look forward to welcoming you back to Burn Coastal Retreat in the future. Kind regards, The Burn Coastal Retreat Team

Stayed in Godolphin 8 (old stables) for a week for 2 adults and 2 children. The place was OK but we had to make up a double sofa bed for my children when we got there after a 400 mile trip so wasn't impressed.
At every Seasons property we've ever stayed at they never switch ON the fridge freezer for guests on arrival so expect it to take a good 2 hours to get to a good temp otherwise you might lose some food like we did. :-(
There is a dehumidifier in the lounge/bedroom/diner area which runs 24/7, is very noisy and as a severe allergy sufferer this isnt too great.
Prior to arrival we asked if we could have refurbished accommodation and I would say out of the whole site we probably got the most run down.
Hardly any facilities were up and running (probably due to covid-19). The pool was the only thing open and was bitterly cold. We only managed 20 minutes tops. Was reported to reception but nothing was done about it during our stay. Other people who were in there with us said same as us.
There is land behind the stables wherw they could deck out to make a private area for this stables as we had nothing apart from a picnic bench out front for everyone to see so we didn't sit out as no privacy.
There are laundry facilities here which we used and were fine. £2.50 per wash and £2 tumble dryer.
Also don't leave your windows open as there are cats on site that wander into your property.
Luckily we were given a free week to stay from a relative otherwise I'd hav ebeen asking for my money back and find somewhere else.
There is a riding school nearby that seemed to regularly come past ours.
I certainly wouldn't say this a luxury retreat and very overpriced for what you get and won't be investing now in Seasons.

Dear Technibabe59, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am sorry to hear that the fridge temperature was not low enough for you, I assure you the fridge was not turned off, neither would it be turned off at any other seasons resort. Nevertheless your feedback has been passed to housekeeping to make sure that the fridge temperatures are appropriate for arrival. It is disappointing to see that during the few times you used the pool you found it to be too cold, we did not receive this feedback from the other guests, however we continue to closely monitor all of our leisure facilities. Kind regards, Reception Burn Coastal Retreat

We spent a week in august 2021 here as a family. We stayed in a Hopton, with hot tub. the whole site is immaculate, very clean and tidy. pool area is excellent, with a good booking system
The text message system to communicate with Reception worked really well, they were super responsive and made things easy to book or answer any questions we had
Our apartment was great, just right for a family of 4. Staff all super friendly. 15 mins walk into Bude town centre, or a quick drive to lots of other places.
The bar area looked like it has been recently refurbished and was lovely. Could do with a bit more choice in selection of drinks on offer.
WiFi was a bit intermittent but its a difficult location to get that working well
Overall we thought Burn was excellent and we would definitely recommend / would return

Difficult location with pot holed entrance. Friendly welcome then discover you have to pay £100 hot tub deposit which you are informed is only a holding payment which they deduct out your account immediately.
No mention on booking and Hoseasons confirmed not aware.
This is non returnable until after you leave where you could be blamed for anything?
Accomodation is spacious though not luxurious as advertised as we had damage to a wall...no.hot water in morning. Our accomodation also didn't look like photos of cottage we had chose. Pool was closed due to chemical imbalance. There byis nothing else to do unless you want to pay £13 for 2 drinks in the bar which was dead.
Would not recommend and won't be returning.

Dear l33v1978, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts during your stay at Burn. It is disappointing to see that aspects of your stay are not currently meeting your expectations. We are unfortunately experiencing an issue with part of the machinery in our swimming pool that was out of our hands, however please be assured that our dedicated Maintenance team are working closely with specialists to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. In addition, Maintenance have attended your lodge to check your boiler and found everything to be working correctly. All guest feedback is considered of the utmost importance so please do contact me via Reception should you wish to discuss your stay further. Kind regards Eryn Brolly Resort Manager

Our two bedroom unit was small but reasonable, although I personally do not like bare wooden floors, there was very limited clothes storage space, and the sofa in the lounge was slightly uncomfortable. We did not use our hot tub as the weather was poor.
These were my only criticisms and we enjoyed our short stay as a base for walking.

Myself and a friend stayed in Hopton 1 between 17th and 21st May and we had a great holiday. Everything was great, furnishings lovely and there was everything we needed especially in the kitchen compared to some self catering places I have been. Hot tub was perfect and really well maintained, checked and cleaned every morning so always ready for us to get in when we wanted. We didn’t have much interaction with staff due to contactless check in but that was perfect for us. Last minute we had to travel by public transport which was much easier than expected, we got the train to Exeter St David’s then got the number 6 bus directly outside. You are on the bus about 1 hr 40 mins then only a 10 min walk when you get off to the site. Would visit again 100%!

When we arrived there were some issues with our accommodation and it was quite different from the description on the Hoseasons website. This was really disappointing as a family with a toddler we chose accommodation based on our specific needs and we didn’t get what we booked.
However my husband went to reception to discuss this and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. This seems to be the fault of Hoseasons rather then the resort itself. They couldn’t of done more to right the situation so that was great and after a move the following day we were able to enjoy our holiday in a suitable property for us.
My husband and I both treated ourselves to a spa treatment at the resort, an outside company come in to do this. It was heavenly and a lovely thing to fit in to a rainy day in Cornwall to relax.
Recommend giving the restaurant on site a go, really nice good quality food, lovely airy dining room and we loved Pat who made us feel so welcome and went out of her way to accommodate our 3 year old.
I saw a previous reviewer say the swimming pool was too cold for babies/toddlers, I think they must have changed this because we used the pool many times and found it lovely and warm, our toddler had no complaints!
All in all a really nice site and base to spend a holiday in Cornwall, aslong as they can sort the description issue with hoseasons so people don’t arrive expecting something and not receiving it then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, United Kingdom166 contributions14 helpful votesHi, do any of th cottages with hot tubs have enclosed gardens? And are th grounds/lawn secure?
Yes a good number have hot tubs, you need to specify when booking as they have some without. As far as secluded. Most have some privacy all have part privacy means can be open at back, we had tub with open back over garden, unless someone walked through the putting green could not see us, sorry for late delay had not checked site
Pool and Gym is open
Good afternoon,
The Coastal Calm treatment rooms are available 1 or 2 days a week and you can find their treatment menu by visiting the Clowance Spa website. You can also book online by clicking the link from their website or by telephone.
We have a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym facilities available in our leisure building.
I hope this information helps.
