This is possibly one of the best sites we have stayed at in these Covid times. A lot of thought has gone into safe distancing and protection of the guests. Every entrance to the site had hand sanitiser fitted to gates or posts each and every water waste and dustbin sites had sanitisers, the site amenities were regularly cleaned at different times of the day. This left you feeling very safe. The site is well maintained and looked after. The rear exit to the site gives you a direct route to the South Coast path, approx 350 metres. A quick walk from the front entrance all downhill gets you to the Bude canal in about 10 mins, it’s a few mins more on the way back as it’s uphill all the way. It’s not steep and easy uphill walking on the footpath. The staff and owners were very helpful and very informative about the local area. We had a great time and will be looking to visit again next year.

I would definitely recommend this site to everyone, it is ideal . We were travelling around the coast of Cornwall and chose this lovely site as our first stay in our tent. What an excellent choice we made . Within walking distance to Bude by road or along the coastal path with beautiful views. Helpful friendly staff, very clean and well looked after site. Hand sanitizer in place and covid guidelines followed without having to withdraw any facilities or services like some sites . The facilities were cleaned 3 times a day , they have a family bathroom too which is ideal for anyone with kids plus a lovely play area . Plenty of water points and bins , clean dish wash area . Everyone was very friendly on the site and depending what pitch you are on , you will have lovely views. We had a grass pitch and it was plenty big enough for our tent and car with space still to arrange any chairs wind breaks etc . We never had to queue or wait for toilets / showers or wash area. We followed the lovely coastal path to Bude and onto Northcott Mouth one day , calling in at Rosie’s kitchen for homemade pizza when we arrived back in Bude ( on Crooklets beach ). Another lovely coastal walk is in the opposite direction to Widemouth Bay , you can walk back along the Bude canal and call at The Weir for a lovely cream tea. While at Bude you must take a trip to Clovelly, you won’t regret it . Bude has a open air sea pool and lovely beaches . Plenty of shops / supermarkets around and Bude is such a lovely town you will definitely want to come back . We carried on our journey and travelled lower down near Lands End and wished we had stayed at Upper Lynstone as the site was diabolical and not a patch on this one so lesson learned , next year Upper Lynstone will be our base and we will travel to other destinations daily it will definitely be worth it. After camping for 20 years with tents and caravans this has to be one of the best sites we have stayed on , thank you so much 😊

Booked our pitches in advance as we knew it had a good view on these particular pitches and after putting up 2 rigs.. we got told we had to move because they want someone else they know to go there. No other explanation offered. We spoke about it as a family and went back to the office and said fine we will move to the new pitch offered rather than go home. One of the brothers said "good, if you didn't I would have got a tractor and moved you myself". Really strange experience. Decided after 10 years we would never ever go back. We have been going to Wooda Farm Park for years now and are very happy.

What a lovely site. We’d spotted it when on holiday last year and thought it is ideally placed for walking into Bude. It certainly is - either along the road (footpath all the way) or along the coastal path. The site has been well-adapted so is Covid-safe, with hand sanitizer everywhere and washrooms being cleaned 3x a day. The staff are friendly and helpful and the site well-maintained. We booked a hard standing pitch as we’ve struggled on grass with out motorhome, but we booked an extra night and it was a grass pitch and the motorhome moved off easily. We’ll definitely be back. The site and Bude are both ideal.

Currently sat on the site in the sun. Booked in January before all the COVID business and kept my booking with fingers crossed we’d be able to come - so glad I did!! The site is perfectly placed for getting in to Bude by foot or by road (the coastal path is amazing). The shower block is modern & very clean. The showers could perhaps do with a seat/shelf at the front of the cubicle to help with getting changed etc. The only other minor niggle is that when using the top water point, it cuts out when someone else uses the lower one as there isn’t enough water pressure - at least it gives you chance to admire the sea view while you’re waiting! Pitch is a good size and pretty level. Being so close to the sea, the site does get affected by the wind but that’s to be expected. Site is immaculately maintained, in a beautiful setting, well-priced and despite its little foibles has been the perfect setting for our holiday. We will be back!!

Response from Bridget Haggarty, Owner at Upper Lynstone Camping & Caravan Park

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Unfortunately for this year we have removed the stools that are usually in the showers, but hopefully they will be back in for next year. The tap at the top was only put in during the winter and we are aware there is a problem, and are trying to sort it out. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you again
