I had 3 nights in a surf pod. I found the lady who met me at reception, after ringing the number on the sign outside, to be very friendly and the atmosphere of the place very relaxed.

My pod was clean, tidy and everything I was expecting to be there was. The attached toilet/wetroom is perfectly functional and was clean. Shower was actually nice and warm. I didn't use the shared bathroom facilities or the laundry facilities.

The BBQ and fridge were also very clean and perfectly functional, and I got by fine with the USB charging ports by the bedside for keeping my gadgets going. There is limited wifi on site where you get (at time of writing) 380 odd MB free and after which you will need to purchase more data if you need to.

I was lucky with the weather, and it was sunny and warm. Farm and surroundings are lovely, and you are only a couple of minutes (by car) outside of Bude. The site itself was very well landscaped and maintained, I thought.

One word of warning though; sound carries significantly between the pods in each 'bay' and noise was a bit of an issue for me in my stay. A family (or possibly two family groups) checked in to the pod or pods in our bay and kids will be kids - very noisy! The owner/proprietor clearly isn't to blame for that, nor indeed are the kids who have every right to be excited on their holidays. Just be aware that you are at the mercy of your immediate neighbours and you should be prepared for that as you would be at a campsite in a tent.

Check out was easy - there was a guidebook in the pod detailing where to put your rubbish, what to do with your linen and crockery etc. Do all that, and off you go.

Nice, unique and well run place. If you absolutely must have uninterrupted sleep/peace and quiet, just be aware that the pods are much like camping sound wise.

After not seeing many reviews before we left and a few being negative we were going with not really any idea what to expect. But it was absolutely brilliant, we went with two other families (11 of us in total) and the kids had the best time, we couldn’t have asked for a better week.
There is electric in each tent, there are 2 showers and 3 toilets plus 2 eco friendly toilets.
The tents are really spacious, the floor is lined so nothing gets wet even if it rains. We just layered up for the night.
There’s a little park, ducks, sheep, llamas and chickens for the kid’s to see from a far. The view also from the tents is absolutely beautiful.
Take ear plugs if you’re concerned about early mornings because it is on a farm so you can hear the cockerel and obviously being in Cornwall you hear the seagulls as well. Our kids are early risers so that didn’t really bother us!
We did take our own toilet roll just in case which wasn’t really needed until the last day. There’s also a little facility to wash up anything you’ve used for cooking which was handy.
We will definitely be returning without a doubt!

We arrived Wednesday 23rd March 2022 and stayed for a few days . The pictures on the nets are very app. The pods are very cute and the heated floor warms the the pods nicely. If you are one for Glamping then the novelty of the pods will just right right for you. There are adequate cooking utensils for the barbecue and the barbecue grill and gas is provided. There are 16 pods with a small toilet and wet shower on the outside. The outside shower only gets Luke warm which is stated in the itinerary and there is nowhere to hang your clothes unless you want them wet as well..alternatively there is a shared bath and shower room where the shower is beautifully hot so there is an option. The Gentleman running the Pods Peter was always on call for our needs and was able to tell us that the grounds consist of 27 acres of land , there is also tree house and camper vans and cottages to rent a perfect place for a wedding party or yoga retreat hosting a hundred people or so but you would have to book this well in advance as the place can get busy at certain periods of the year. I would definitely go again and try one of his other accommodations such as the tree house. The wild life is also great to wake up to especially the cockerel and the sight of the peacock. one other thing to note is there are no electric sockets in the room which might not surprise the most ardent Glampers but the host allowed me to charge my laptop in reception.

When we first arrived at the pod, we expected to see a windowed entrance, a king sized bed and an external bathroom. However, as per the pictures I have attached, the doors were not windowed but wooden. The bed was a double sized mattress on a wooden pallet, and the ‘bathroom’ was actually a miniature wet room with a toilet, sink and shower head crammed into a shed-like room. The wet room quickly becomes caked in mud after walking in there to use the toilet/sink. This put us off having a shower during our stay. The bathroom pictured on the website is actually the communal bathroom which may not be best to use during the COVID-19 period.

The pod was not completely clean. When we started to make the bed up, we saw multiple spiders around and underneath the bed. We lifted the bed up and this had clearly not been cleaned properly for a long time (cobwebs and dust). The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were rock hard after a while.

The wooden doors were not airtight at all. This meant any breeze/wind came through 24/7, making it impossible to keep warm. The picture attached shows gaps present.

Please take note that there are no plug sockets in the pod so you are only able to charge your phone via a USB port on the other side of the pod (away from the bed).

There are no areas to clean your dishes which we found very unsanitary.

Should you consider coming here, the location is great and easy to find. However, be prepared for the above.

Thank your your review I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay, we always appreciate feedback and our contact details are throughout the site and issues can always be addressed while you are staying with us. The Surf Pods are a "Glamping" experience. In response to your comments, the bed is Kingsize, not double, we have Kingsize through out all of the Pods and cottages with no exceptions. It is not on a Pallet it is on a wooden bed made in-house, additionally the picture you show of the Pods with windows are in a local information booklet we left inside the Pods and you would not have seen before your arrival, so you would not have "expected" that shape windows, our photos show Pods with Porthole windows. The Pod bathroom is described as "Private wet-room outhouse with heated shower, flushing WC and hand basin". There is a communal washing up area, I am sorry that you did not find this. When it comes to power in the Pod, we advertise this, "We have tried to keep the site eco-friendly and semi-off-grid with a small carbon footprint ....there is Solar and Led lighting, two USB sockets" so there are no 3 pin plug and this is also reiterated in the pre-arrival e-mail you get. I fully take on board your comments about dust under the bed and will address this, although regards the spiders follow us back in as soon as we shoo them out at this time of year. I answer the phone to our guests at all times and at no point did you call me with any of the issues that you raise. We pride ourselves on our accommodation and whilst we cannot always get it right, we need to know so it can be corrected as soon as possible. In your review I do feel however that you are doing us a dis-service as at no time did you call up to speak to us about any of the issues and the majority of your comments appear to be a misunderstanding such as the wet room / electricity or wholly inaccurate such as the "pallet" or the size of the bed, or no-where to wash up. However, I appreciate the time that you have taken as all views prevent misunderstandings and give our future guests a good overall view of our accommodation.

I stayed here as part of a party with family.
The booking was smooth very polite. I thought I had booked an amazing campsite with a fare price.

I couldnt be more wrong! I dont even know where to begin.
Covid19 guidelines were not followed which will be taken up separately.
The showers were freezing, they wouldnt drain properly
The campsite is on a slope which is not mentioned prior to booking. Over the few days of rain our electrical equipment in our tent was wet through whilst we was on a day out. Luckily we had waterproof luggage with out clothing in.
When enquiring about surf pods in main reception the young girl was so uneducated it was unreal(not her fault). The maintenance guys who work on the park should run it!! They were polite and new more about the surf pods inc under floor heating.

The owner!! Well she is something else. She would not agree with young people staying or campers grouping together on a night. I personally witnessed her walk over to a group which were not causing an issue to campers, in such an abusive manner. I was appalled at what I'd just seen/heard. There was group in the bell tent part of the campsite making noise until 2am. The poor young group who had a bit of music playing;much to everyones taste they had 80s/90s on. No complaints were made they actually asked the other campers if they were ok and if it was too loud they would turn it down. The owner lives on site and walks/stomps around the campsite very unapproachable.

I really do wish I had read the reviews before booking. It's not people making it up;this is genuine reviews.

I will not be staying at this campsite again. Makes me wonder why it was up for sale back in Feb 2020. I would not pay 1.6milliom for this part of land especially to put money in the owners pocket.

If you wanting a break from life and thinking this is the place. Your wanting a few drinks and a bit of music this campsite is not for you!!

Response from Ana C, Owner at Atlantic Surf Pods

The main comment that I have on this review is that this guest and her friends are not welcome to return to the campsite on Atlantic Farm. The Campsite is in a separate area to the Surf pods. It is a simple family campsite, with simple facilities, and the 3 girls that have left these 3 reviews were inconsiderate guests and very rude to our staff. There is a silence after 10.30 rule and another rule that groups cannot gather after 8pm. This ensures that the all users of the campsite are able to enjoy the evenings. The episode that lead to this review was that they came back from the pub around 10pm, got out a huge speaker and turned the music up at top volume. As this disturbed me from the house, I went over to the camping area and insisted they turn it off. They were rude and obnoxious, mainly due to intoxication. When disturbance gets me out of bed I am not at my shiny best and I was definitely firm with them but not rude. I checked the rest of the campsite and made sure everything else was quiet. When I came back to the girls' pitch they had de-camped into another pitch and were siting around being loud, so I again insisted they quietened down. At top volume they started shouting, "you've lost a customer here, we were going to come back but that's it now...." Had they not been due to leave the next morning they would have been asked to leave. They disturbed the whole campsite and the noise could be heard throughout the farm including the Surf Pods, Bell tents and cottages, I'm not sure how happy the geese and chickens were either as they live in the field next door!!.

Booked for 3 nights, left after just one.

Atlantic Surpods website advertises an "Additional communal bathroom onsite, with heated shower and bath". With my wife currently using a wheelchair and crutches, this was one of the reasons we booked and the reason we left.

The facilities have been downgraded by reception to a "standby" bathroom. We had to book and when we tried to use it we found it was in a very poor state of repair, stone-cold and in need of a good clean. When we explained this to the staff on-site we were told that it had just been scrubbed. Reception staff later took a look and told us they couldn't see what the problem was.

The pod's own "shower rooms" was unusable as a shower due to low water pressure and very small size.

In addition to this, the laundry was out of order and the free wife wasn't free after 400Mb.

I have attached pictures to illustrate.

We had booked to stay in the treehouse for 3 nights but left after 2.
When we got to the treehouse, it had very pretty views but was definitely in need of some love. The treehouse had not been cleaned at all; there was food on the side from the last guests and stains on the bed sheets. Feeling rather unclean we went for a shower only to find it was luke warm so still felt unclean. The roof also had a hole in it which was making a noise making it impossible to sleep! There was no curtain so at first light, your awake.

We tried to find someone at reception on 4 attempts before we gave in and wrote an email, this was replied with a text saying pod was available.

Having eventually found someone to speak to as reception was never staffed, they offered us replacement accommodation in one of the pods, however completely disregarding our issue of cleanliness and kept reiterating that they couldn’t do anything about light coming in but there was no curtain so this was easy solvable

We moved to the pod, this seemed nice enough. The treehouse had plug sockets but the pods did not, bit we were aware this was part of a fab idea to stay eco friendly. There were boards to cover the windows which was a great idea. The shower was also lovely and warm. BUT the bed sheets had stains on them again.

We tried to find the owner again but no sign of them so we sent a follow up email and left the site as we did not want to try a third accommodation to find uncleanliness again! The owner replied to this saying we were being pedantic and ‘i do not think you would have been happy in any garden environment’ even though we have stayed in many a quirky glamping location and have been wild camping last year.

Telling their customers their concerns (especially over cleanliness in a COVID-19 world) are invalid is not the way to resolve issues, only to ensure they won’t return. There was absolutely no apology in person, only a ‘sorry you couldn’t find us’ apology on email.

We read some reviews commenting on the poor customer service and they are all absolutely correct! All in all, it was disgustingly dirty and the customer service was APALLING!

Still waiting on our refund.

Stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it despite the typical British summer! The pods have everything you need including a very comfy bed and a fridge big enough to store a couple of days worth of stuff. The toilet/wet room was fine and the water was warm straight away. The site is quiet and a 30 minute walk into Bude if you don’t want to spend all your money on car parking! Would definitely recommend and hopefully come back at some point!

Great communication, lots of emails with maps of the site and info about the area before we turned up. Pitch was large and clean and set up was easy.
Had minimal interaction with staff but they were always polite and smiling when I saw them or when we checked in.

I see other reviews where people complain about the cleanliness of the facilities. The mess was mostly due to selfish campers not cleaning up their sinks after watching up or brushing their teeth and they can’t monitor them all the time. The toilets were clean and the showers had some grass in but you’re in a field so this is to be expected.

The real let down was the play area which is very run down, the slide and swings aren’t there anymore which was a real shame.
We stopped into the shell workshop and saw lots of people making shell craft however we don’t partake but it looked good.

I’d have preferred better showers, pushing the tiny button every five seconds was a nuisance but the water was warm enough and it did the job.
Was a Very quiet site and perfect for our five night stay.

You could walk to Bude or drive and there were ships within five minutes and a huge soft play for the inevitable English Rain.

Overall a good little site.

Well for me I didn’t enjoy the experience of this surf pod. That’s not to say it wouldn’t suit others just feel as other reviews it could be better.

There is one bed and then two big beans bags as a second option but both myself and wife found that horrendous to sleep on sadly

The toilet/sink/shower is the biggest mess it’s basically a shed slash wet room that feels a bit rickety

The room in side was ok and we had cutlery plates etc. the WiFi is advertised as free but that lasts about 20 mins and then your expected to pay which with a 8 year old is vital and could become expensive

Maybe I was expecting to much but we enjoyed the surrounding area of Bude,Tintagel, and Boscastle
