My wife and I stayed for four nights at the end of October 2016. The hotel is as near to perfect as I can imagine. The room is beautifully quiet and comfortable. Amazingly, it had a "smart" TV giving access to CatchUp TV and the rest. The food in the restaurant whilst not "fine dining" is pleasantly "a la carte"...

The bar food here is consistently good, coupled with lovely service and nice ambience. Went for roast lunch today and was pleasantly surprised and they do smaller portions as an option as well which is great for kids and elderly or just those with smaller appetites

We had a fantastic Sunday Roast here last Sunday. The beef was beautiful and tender and plenty of it. Two veg' dishes arrived laden with a good supply of veg. Then a gravy boat in addition to the gravy already on our plate. It was beautiful.

This hotel is one of those untouched havens. Not modern like some with all their 'retro' furniture and bright lighting. This place is old fashioned and just wonderful. It is a family run hotel and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Summerleaze Suite which was fabulous. The breakfasts were tasty as was the food in...

We booked a table in the bar area for lunch with family - 10 people in total - on Wednesday last week. The hotel is impressive when you walk in but quickly becomes apparent that some TLC and updating is required. The menu was pretty standard - burger and chips, fish and chips, fish pie etc. - but I was...

Called in by chance just as the Happy Fizz Hour was about to end! Had a lovely meal and plenty of fizz, bar and waiting staff very good. Didn't stay there, only had a meal, but looked most inviting, old building and history, can't comment on the hotel side of it as don't know how modern and up-to-date the accommodation...

Very pleasant staff, good choice of 'specials' on lunchtime menu. Delicious food - vegetables beautifully cooked and great variety. All 4 of us enjoyed the experience. Good value for money. On-line menu does not really reflect how good the food was. Didn't have to wait long before we were served and food was hot and tasty

After having a awful experience at THE BEACH B&B, Widemouth Bay, Bude, we went in to reception to ask if they had any twin rooms available. We were greeted by Samantha who was friendly and sympathetic. She was happy to show us the room which was warm and clean. Nothing was a problem. There was a great selection available for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Overlooking the historic Bude Canal, with lovely walled gardens and just a short walk to the beaches and shops, the Falcon Hotel has a most attractive location. Established in 1798, it still retains that old world charm and atmosphere. The bedrooms are very well appointed, and have flat screen televisions with freeview and Sky. The hotel has an excellent local reputation for the quality of food, both in the Coachman’s Bar and Tennyson’s Restaurant. ... more   less
