Behind a traditional Victorian facade lies noric design influenced accommodation. Modern, organic, simplistic style with functionality. Natural woods, simple accents and cozy textiles along with natural light make our accommodation an calming sanctuary to unwind away from the chaos of todays busy life demands. In contrast, the in house restaurant, The DECK is a lively, vibrant and informal dining experience enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Our location is simply perfect, we overlook the coast, cliffs and town and we are an easy walk to town centre and 2 great surfing beaches. Everything you need on the doorstep for a break in a beautiful, unspoilt and stunning area.

Detailed Reviews
I have never stayed anywhere with such a friendly team, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome. The location is amazing, beach right across the road. Breakfast was delicious and really high quality. We stayed in the family rooms which were like your own self contained area with two bedrooms, bathroom and small kitchen. Rooms were basic but all you needed. We ate at the deck two nights and food was excellent, also enjoyed being able to have drinks downstairs and play board games with the kids. Thoroughly recommend!

My partner and I visited for the weekend, the place is lovely, room was nice with a great sea view 😊
We had food there the first night which was delicious and arrived very quickly so couldn’t fault that!
Overall it was a very good experience and would return.
There was one snide remark we had, we came down for breakfast and was served by a lady with short brown wavy hair, me and my partner very politely asked if we could have the table wiped as was a bit dirty, my partner mentioned we wouldn’t usually care and would usually wipe it ourselves but said due to what’s going on at the moment would rather have it sanitised properly, to which she replied ‘well don’t come away then’ which we thought was incredibly rude and put a downer on our breakfast.
But again lovely place, lovely staff (mostly) and lovely food.
Would definitely give 5 stars if we didn’t have that comment.

Have just returned home after a four night stay at the Edgcumbe. I honestly couldn’t fault it! All the staff are so friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is in an ideal location along the summer leaze crescent near the beach. We stayed in room 1 which I think had been renovated recently, the only thing I think would be handy is a full length mirror to be added to the room. We were lucky and could find a car parking spot either on the hotel front or along the road so didn’t have to pay but there are car parks near by if needed. Breakfast is served from 08:30-10:30 and there are plenty of tasty options to suit all. I would recommend booking the DECK restaurant, we booked for our first night, it was our favourite meal and regret not booking twice. Make sure to book before you stay as it was full every night! Would not hesitate to return or recommend this lovely hotel and restaurant. Thank-you Edgcumbe staff for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic location overlooking the beach and a really relaxed ‘beach vibe’ atmosphere, The staff were amazing and couldn’t be more helpful. The room was really well equipped impeccably clean and the bed was superbly comfortable. We ate dinner there in the eve (The Deck) and again a great meal ( The Salt & Pepper Squid was 10/10) In the morning you get a great selection (and like the evening meal - all quality ingredients, beautifully cooked and served) In short great value for money ( I booked direct) great staff, great food, great atmosphere and a great location 👍

From the lovely welcome on arrival by Becky to our departure, staying at the Edgcumbe was a genuine pleasure. Clean, comfortable rooms, good eco policies and high quality breakfast ingredients, the bacon in particular was excellent. Despite the best efforts of storm Ciara, the room was warm enough at all times and thanks to the bed, a great night's sleep. Becky was very informative about the hotel facilities and local eateries in Bude. All of the staff at breakfast were lovely and helpful, we had requested an early breakfast which was ready right on time, thank you ladies. I would highly recommend the Edgcumbe if you like to be treated well and given real customer service, the best I can remember in a long time.

The hotel is set in a beautiful position, close to the beach, its fairly small with a dining room and another mainly dining room/bar. Very limited parking in front of the hotel.
I was very disappointed with our room, which we stayed in for two days a very small poky room with a double and single bed, overlooking a back yard. The shower room was similarly poky. This wasn't a cheap hotel and the only attention given to the room on the second day was to straighten the bed and clean the cups, the bins weren't emptied and towels not changed even though left on floor as nowhere to hang them.
Breakfast was very nice, with a good range if different options, but we were constantly reminded that there was only a small kitchen cooking the breakfasts - this wasn't our problem!
We were also surprised that the hotel bar shut just after 10 pm with no warning that it was our last chance to order a drink.

Stayed here for our first time in Bude and enjoyed the whole experience. Staff are very helpful and very hardworking in a busy place. We had dinner once which was great, the full English breakfast and coffee is also excellent. Drying room available for wetsuits which were happily taken at reception on return from the beach. Board games available in the bar area for rainy days. Great location for the top of the town. Access to main beach entrance is down the front grass slope or you can go along top path to the Bude Sea Pool. Place also handy for Sainsbury's through side lane a couple of blocks along. Outside deck a perfect spot for a sundowner looking over the bay. Big thumbs up from the recently visiting Scots.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel to attend our friend's wedding which was also held in the hotel. Top of the shop in room 12 which was clean and tidy. The weekend was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to ensure people were looked after and happy. The food was delicious for the wedding buffet and in the evening there was fish and chips. The hotel is situated close to the beach and rooms at the front will have a lovely sea view. Parking is tight and we just managed to squeeze on the end although there is a public car park nearby.
Thank you for a great weekend.

Booked the room with the jacuzzi bathroom for a weekend away for my parents. They absolutely loved it. They said the room and bathroom were beautiful with great views. Unfortunately my mother had a knee injury a few days earlier and the owners coned off a parking area next to the entrance. My parents said the owners and staff were exceptionally friendly and kind, they enjoyed the food and thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights in September and really enjoyed our stay. Food is delicious and we loved the idea of no starters etc. It reminded me of my time in Australia in the 90’s in Sydney, a very nice vibe and something slightly different. The location of the hotel is 5 star…..brilliant for the Bude Sea Pool which we loved. Hotel was clean.
We would definitely advise that you book in advance for food. We couldn’t get a table booked in advance on one night but we did get in thanks to a helpful waitress.
For residents it would be good if the bar was open before 4pm and the decision not to clean the rooms was different to other hotels we have stayed in at the same time. We would definitely recommend and hopefully we will stay again in the future. The sunsets were sublime.
Thank you.

Solihull, England, United Kingdom79 contributions117 helpful votesHi we are going to the Edgcumbe a week Friday where is the nearest parking please. I believe Hotel had limited space.
We parked in the beach caroark, at the bottom if the hill. I think it was very cheap for 24 hours at a time.
Check in from 2-3pm and Check out is 10.30 am
Sorry, only Guide dogs and Therapy dogs
Sorry for the delay, parking out front, but is on first come basis, but usually can get parked on the road outside.
We do not have a room 331 - We only have 12 rooms!
