Located midway between two New Forest towns - Brockenhurst and Beaulieu - Roundhill campsite from Camping in the Forest consists of expansive grassy areas and glorious pine trees; perfect for pitching your tent! With countless direct routes into the unique New Forest environment via cycle and footpaths, this is a perfect campsite for exploring the flora and fauna of the open forest and Beaulieu Heath. If you are really lucky, you may spot deer during quieter times, and see the famous New Forest and Shetland ponies roaming freely. The spacious nature of this campsite makes it an ideal retreat for families who require plenty of grass areas for children to play safely. Local attractions include Beaulieu Motor Museum and the Paultons Park Peppa Pig World, and at Brockenhurst you can hire bikes or take the family horse riding. Although there is no electricity on the site, there are toilet and shower blocks as well as washing-up facilities. A dog shower and baby changing facility were introduced during 2011. Disabled facilities are with fitted radar locks.

Such a gorgeous peaceful site.

While the site has no toilet block or shower block any more (but does have water and chemical toilet disposal facilities), this has led to lower numbers and far more relaxed campers as a whole.

The site is big and quite wild, loads of trees and broken up into little mini fields and forest glades which, in contrast to so many sites which have you line up in rows, make it feel like your own private wild campsite - particularly when, like on our last couple of stays, we have a whole sub field to ourselves.

Horses, donkeys and cattle roam freely throughout the site (keep your food safely secured as the animals are extreme opportunists, have no fear of people and will happily break into a tent for a bag of bread rolls or a box of weetabix)

The location is gorgeous, a ten minute drive from brockenhurst and beautiful easy (or more challenging) walks in the forest in every direction from the campsite.

The staff are quietly brilliant making for a relaxed and very welcoming stay.

On arrival to the campsite, we had to show we had a toilet as there are no facilities on site. Allowed to pitch up in a place of our own choice, had to be 6metres away from people which was very easy as the campsite was extremely quiet. Very peaceful with lovely walks. No wifi or data anywhere on the camp was the only downside.

Spent three nights here. Really peaceful. Horses, donkeys and cows wandering around. Great for walking and cycling. Plenty space to pitch up. Fresh water and waste disposal was all that we needed. Staff friendly.

We unfortunately decided to leave Roundhill Campsite soon after arriving. We arrived with no chemical toilet, which was completley our fault. Luckily, the team at the front desk informed us we could buy one from them, for £25 (inc. deposit). We said thats great, but as they accept only cash, we would have to head out first and drop the cash off on our return from dinner. The team agreed, and offered advice on where we could pitch.

We headed in, chose our pitch and began setting up. Seconds later, a stranger on a bicycle appeared from nowhere, shouting at us and making more accusations against us than I can even recall. He had ultimately somehow decided that we had completley ignored his teams rules on chemical toilets, flipped them off and 'sped off' in to the campsite (A very bizarre notion as we had politley said goodbye to the team and very slowly drove around looking for a pitch). After trying to calm him down (semi-successfully) he said he intended to speak to his team 'about communication', and off he went. We decided to leave shortly after, both feeling extremely unwelcome.

Such an unexpected and aggressive confrontion left us both with a very bad feeling, as two polite people who had done nothing wrong in the slighest, and don't often get in to arguments. I'm sure the problem here was communication, but regardless, his approach was absolutly unnacceptable, unprofessional and not how I expect a manager (or any grown man) to behave.

On the bright side, the site was beautiful. We were very disappointed to not experience it fully.

Had made an online booking as a surprise for my girlfriend who is having a tough time just now. Unfortunately, in the circumstances, we won't be able to get away for the trip so I cancelled and asked for a refund, hoping for some sort of helpful, human response. I paid £109 and cancelled just hours later and because it is (just) within 2 weeks before the trip, they have refused to refund. In fairness, they did offer to change the date but we can't commit for the foreseeable so this wasn't any use. Anyway, this experience has just added unwelcome stress at a difficult time and I feel strongly enough to be writing this... We will not book here again.

Our first ever adventure camping in our new day van/awning combo for our daughter’s birthday, just got back from an amazing stay at this beautiful site. We were recommended by a friend to stay at Roundhill. Set in the middle of the amazing New Forest, we arrived and were greeted by a very friendly man, couldn’t offer us more advice as he realised we were newbies. Set up, a few drinks, and a wander to meet lots of ponies and cows just wandering around. It is a quiet site, as there are no washing/toilet facilities at the moment, but fine as long as you have your own amenities. You can set up wherever you like and not be surround by anyone, it was lovely.
Can’t wait for our next adventure! See you again soon.

As a camping enthusiast, I want to share my experience with you. The campsite itself was located in a beautiful area, with stunning views and great facilities for campers. However, I was disappointed with the staff as they were not helpful or friendly at all.

Despite the picturesque surroundings, the lack of hospitality from the staff really put a damper on my overall experience. I found them to be rude and unaccommodating, which was a letdown considering how important good customer service is in the hospitality industry.

I believe that the beauty of a camping spot can only be fully enjoyed when the staff are welcoming and make visitors feel at home. Unfortunately, this was not the case at this particular campsite. I hope that the management takes this feedback into consideration and works on improving their customer service, as it can truly make or break a camping trip.

Fantastic site and great to have choice of where you want to pitch up. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Peaceful and idyllic and a great location. There are three toilet blocks located around the site for easy access. Couldn’t fault our stay

Worst camping experience we have ever had. Kept awake all night until 4am by a group of under age kids drinking vodka, shouting , screaming and vile language.Went to warden at 2am who spoke to the group only for them to continue. Anybody want our camping equipment as we never going again and I'm so upset as been coming here for over twenty years. If you want a drunk, vile language holiday with no sleep then this is the place for you.😭

Beautiful scenery in the middle of the new forest nation park. Plenty of space to pitch wherever you like. Fantastic value. Stopped for 1 night but could have stopped for longer. Basic but functional facilities. Comes with free donkeys, cows and horses. 5 mins to brockenhurst, 15 mins to lymington
