Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful facial from Steph in Sen Spa - really fabulous treatment. Such a warm and welcoming greeting from Shaz this morning when we arrived for breakfast. Delicious continental spread and good coffee ☕️. Thank you for making our spa and overnight stay such a great experience. We’ll be back soon Shaz - thank you 🤗 xx

We visited this lovely hotel for a family get together last weekend & everyone agreed what an excellent choice it was! In the past my husband & I used to enjoy all the venues of a well known national spa company, but since that was brought out & destroyed we found Careys Manor to be the first similar spa hotel where the staff were up to the old standards of that place that sounds a bit like sharpies! We were only there for one night & so the fact that the main spa area was being refurbished wasn't a problem, though we did enjoy the jacuzzi, steam room, sauna & pool that were still available. We were both very pleased to find that the pool wasn't too warm (as many so wastefully & uncomfortably are) & that it was sensibly roped off in lanes to give both serious and fun swimmers separated areas. We will certainly be back to enjoy the full SenSpa experience in the new year. When we arrived in reception the welcoming log fire was roaring & their huge xmas tree was being decorated by cheerful staff members, one of whom quickly rushed to serve us. The entire hotel was tastefully decorated for the upcoming celebrations & I'm sure anyone visiting over the next month will really enjoy it. Our bedrooms were all large & luxurious, parking was plentiful & our evening meal in their delightful Le Blaireau French restaurant was both delicious & very sensibly priced. Our stay was then perfectly finished off with a breakfast that was up there as one of our top ten ever. An excellent extensive buffet was followed by multiple options from a proper full English. The sausages, black pudding & REAL bacon were our tasty favourites, all of which arrived freshly cooked, which impressed my husband who is usually hard to please in such matters! We can thoroughly recommend Careys Manor for so many reasons, but particular praise goes to the ever smiling staff who clearly enjoy working there & care about making your visit as good as it can be.

what a fantastic place, we stayed 2 nights with continental breakfast, receptionist and all staff were polite and helpful, we was upgraded to a bigger room as a courtesy for the senspa and being under refurbishment.( we wasn’t expecting an upgrade as they called in advance to notify us of the refurbishment), hotel was lovely and cosy, theres a fireplace in the reception area, hotel room was clean and warm, the continental breakfast has a great selection of food and drinks, the spa area is lovely, i ordered my partner the mum’s treatment option for the massage, which she said was absolutely amazing, we had dinner at the zen restaurant (thai food) and that was delicious. we went to highcliff beach(24min drive) from the hotel, and that was stunning! we had such a pleasant time at this place and the surrounding areas ( walk paths through forests etc) that we will be returning.

Lovely place to stay in autumn. Amazing breakfast, spa&sauna, room. Tried out the 3 hotel restaurants and these are all amazing. Lovely reception with the fire and nice wooden smell with a tickle of lemon. Certainly will come back on a private trip as well!

Can’t cope with the customers. Had to queue 15 mins to get into the breakfast buffet. Haven’t had to queue for a meal since I was in school. Not enough people working there. When we did get in, there were shortages at the buffet as there was not the staff to replenish it. Not enough sun loungers or chairs round the pool. The space around the pool is small given the number of people there so was noisy. Not good enough. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely building. We were upgraded to a junior suite.

Very impressive building on arrival. Also most welcoming and friendly receptionist. Probably the best I've ever met. Room nicely appointed but signs of wear and tear. Soap dish in shower had been broken off and hand shower had missing seal. Main restaurant closed and all diners only choice was Thai restaurant. Not advised of this in advance. Breakfast in main dining room. Good selection. Unfortunately banquettes badly soiled. Friendly staff and good service

My friend and I have known each other for over 50 years and were well overdue for a very long catch up! The Careys Manor was just the place. Every member of staff was friendly, cheerful and willing to go over and above to make our stay perfect. The food at the Thai restaurant not only looked beautiful, but tasted amazing. So fresh that we could taste every ingredient. The spa treatments, although pricey, were wonderfully therapeutic and we can't wait to go back again for more of the same! Thank you to every member of your team, especially Susie, Lisa, Shaz, Moat, Morn and Marion for everything you do to make your guests feel so special.
