You get a good first impression on arrival with this impressive and elegant building. You then walk in to a very friendly welcome from Steve the owner, who is happy to advise you on anything you need to make your stay in Bideford the best it can be. We had a wonderful room above the front entrance in the Superior room with town / river view. The view indeed across the town to the river is really picturesque. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The bathroom likewise. Breakfast is very tasty and Steve will make sure you get what you want. There is also well stocked bar with many offerings. This really is a template for a wonderful B&B.

We stayed for two nights in a superior king room with river view. The room was spacious with a bay window and seating area to relax and was spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and every thing we needed was provided. We received a warm welcome and Steve took great care to make sure we were settled and happy with our room. Our first mornings breakfast was delicious, fresh and substantial. Steve made time to chat with guests and gave tips on places to visit from his knowledge of the area. They have a well stocked bar and we had a bottle of wine on ice that we took to our room to relax and enjoy at a very reasonable price. Our second breakfast was provided as takeaway at our request because we had an early start. It set us up for the morning and beyond. Overall, a great stay in Steve and Jane's hotel and we would happily return.

We stayed two nights while visiting the nearby RHS Rosemoor garden. Our first floor room was quite spacious with a seating area and adjoining shower room. Nicely decorated and furnished and Very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was very comprehensive with the English breakfast being nicely cooked, and with very little, if any, fat on the plate. Apparently there is normally a buffet but this was suspended due to Covid precautions which were well applied.

We had an Amazing stay in this lovely friendly hotel. Owners were so very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Even gave us a table in the dining room when we couldn't get a meal in the town so we could eat a rake away meal . Lovely room comfortable bed and 1st class breakfast. Very clean and well presented hotel. Will definitely return.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left the host went above and beyond, we felt welcome and our room was cosy and warm and perfect for us for a stop over ! The bed was comfortable I personally didn’t like the pillows but that’s just personal preference! Wi-Fi didn’t work but not a big deal ! COVID precautions were all in place and seamless. So all in all 5 stars 🌟 we will be back

stayed for 3 nights late October, excellent hotel very well run by Steve and Jane. room was very comfortable and both it and the adjacent bathroom were spotlessly clean covid restrictions were of course in place and very well managed, nice lounge and breakfast rooms and the breakfasts were excellent, offering cereals, fresh fruit, croissants as well as freshly cooked English style breakfast. have no hesitation in recommending.

Visited for 2 nights having booked a single room. Was a fabulous stay and I would definitely return and recommend. Both Steve and Jane were very kind, friendly and efficient and Covid precautions meant I felt safe and looked after. The hotel was in a perfect position with a good view of the river from my room, which was incredibly comfortable, super clean and good facilities. Bed was just wonderful! Breakfast too was fabulous served by Steve. I can see they are committed to providing the best service. Thank you.

We had the pleasure of staying here for ten nights in early September and we couldn’t have wished for a better hotel to use as a base to cycle and tour North Devon. Steve and Jane are excellent, attentive hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are spotless and beautifully appointed and the breakfasts have a great range of alternatives to choose from. We had a great holiday despite the current ongoing situation with Covid, to which Steve and Jane have admirably responded to provide an excellent and safe holiday destination. We are certain to go back sometime soon.
