We had previously visited several years ago for lunch. This time we were enroute to Lundy Island via the helicopter from Hartland Point - 3 miles away. The weather was filthy but the double room was warm and welcoming. The bar food was excellent and breakfast the following morning was also excellent. Wifi signal was good but no mobile signal... Good place to for a coffee. The views from the grounds are stunning; just for the views would be fine for me. Absolutely out of this world. Didn't stay overnight. Service good. Staff approachable. It was a bad weather day so probably didn't feel the ambiance.

I'd definitely say go for the breathtaking views and spend a bit of time exploring and working up an appetite then pop into the hotel/pub for some refueling. The location of the hotel is fantastic, perched on the edge of the world, or so it feels like. The food served in the pub area is pretty much as you'd expect,... More

Dear MattyJM, Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. I'm sorry didn't enjoy your lunch as much as we would like although it's great to hear that the home-made sticky toffee went down well! Perhaps you could give us another try next time you are in the area. Kind regards Donal Donal & Sarah Stafford Managers More

We stayed here for 3 nights in September. Our room on the first floor gave us a sea view in both directions along the coast. We were made to feel very welcome by all staff. The food in the Wreckers Bar was of excellent quality and generous proportions. This is a great place to walk sections of the coastal path... More

After a long gap since our last visit we were welcomed with open arms to this wonderful historic place - imagine a harbour here built in 1590 but washed away in 1896. Thankfully the old harbour buildings survive and are providing a brilliant offer in this truly wonderful location. If you don't like views of jagged rocks and pounding surf... More

Had a great lunch. Staff are really friendly and helpful . Its an Old Smugglers Inn. Very interesting building covered in old phobos of the area. Outstanding setting. Unrivalled views...rain or shine...awesome place.

Outside of the cow paths upon one must drive to get to this location, it was quite a remarkable experience. Most would love a serene, calm day at the seashore, but the gale-force winds and pounding surf of this remarkable rugged cliff location made this trip most memorable. The relatively small hotel with a very nice and strangely popular pub,... More

Stayed 2 nights Very clean and comfortable. Hotel slightly dated in decor. Great pub to eat in. Standard pub food, and good beer and atmosphere. Location is second to none, amazing views of the rugged Atlantic coast line. A great place to be no matter what the weather.

The location is fantastic, beware a £2 car parking charge. The pub is looking tired and has no outlook towards the sea from inside, actually one window overlooks the Gents! The staff were pleasant and food served quite quickly even though busy. The lasagna was fairly good as was the fish and chips, chips average and the peas undercooked, dry... More
