A godsend to be able to stay here whilst hiking the Coastal Path. Really lovely staff and terrific food - proper homemade. And good veggie selection which I really enjoyed. Great ale and wine to wash it all down with too. Accommodation is simple but clean, with lovely hot shower and stunning view out to the Atlantic. I loved my stay. Decided weather just too grim to continue my hike to Bude the next day so headed home (they say this is the furthest place from a railway, and it probably is!! But the No6 from Bude took me to Exeter in 2.15 hrs, for £6. Brilliant! Will be back before long I hope to continue where I left off!
Stopped here for one night on a whistle-stop driving tour of Devon and Cornwall.I love this place for it's magnificent coastal location, nestling at tne bottom of a cliff next to tbe Atlantic Ocean. I visited the bar for dinner. The staff there were so courteous, polite and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. My two course meal was generous in quantity and of superb quality too. I'm a poor sleeper but had my best night's sleep for many months. My cooked breakfast the next morning was delicious too - served by yet another very pleasant person there. Try it for yourselves !
We didn't know the hotel existed when we were driving across Hartland, and so it was a lovely surprise and great place for lunch. The location is stunning, and the food was excellent. It was interesting seeing the film connections, and history of the area. Fish & chips with mushy peas to be commended, as was the bacon & tomato flan.
We had a drive down to the quay and decided to have lunch there. We order two ham egg and chips with one tea and one coffee cost £21.90. The ham two slices was supermarket bought and frozen chips, was not a great meal for the price.
We’ve just returned from a 2 night stay in the Cottage which was absolutely perfect for our requirement. The rooms were all very clean and the beds comfortable. The best bit was the quality of the food (breakfast was superb) and the friendliness of all the staff. They really made us feel very welcome. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back in the near future.
