This is a real gem on all fronts. The rooms are very comfortable and large. The bed and pillows were particularly appealing. The area is a quiet residential location but close to Beverley town centre. Cannot fault Jim and his dedicated team. Nothing was too much trouble. Included in the very reasonable tariff is a full English breakfast cooked to specific requirements. Alternatively, there are lots of other options on the menu. We were made to feel very welcome by Jim and his team and enjoyed the hospitality on offer, including the company of local friendly residents. If you’re in the area try this great venue. You won’t be disappointed. Hard to find anywhere that offers so much for so little. Even free dog treats! A great dog friendly place to stay. Thanks Jim and Co. Hope to see you again soon!

Excellent from start to finish. The rooms are HUGE, clean and comfortable and WOW, that shower is AMAZING! Food is fresh, home made, reasonably priced, piping hot and comes out quick. Decent ale and wine too. Service was great with attentive staff. What more can I say. Bravo those guys!

Stayed for a couple of nights when on business. The owner met me on Monday night, as the pub isn't open and looked after me throughout my stay. Very friendly staff, lovely comfortable rooms and a cracking breakfast

I would definitely stay here again. Made to feel so welcome

From the website the Game Bird looks an inviting boutique hotel. It certainly bears no resemblance once through the door.
It is actually a noisy local pub on quite a busy road.
The superior room, whilst spacious, was very dark and the bedding was far from inviting. Only one thin small towel per person was provided and we had to ask for toiletries. The whole place needs a good wash and brush up.
The restaurant was closed, breakfast was freshly cooked but served in a manner more akin to a transport cafe.
The owner is very affable and we did express our opinions to him before we left. However, we felt that there would be little chance that he would take them on board.

Lovely B&B and great breakfasts. Rooms are huge and really comfortable and clean. Had a few drinks and game of rock and roll bingo in the pub in the evening. Really friendly and helpful staff who advised on where to go around the area for food and things to do.

Nice b&b over a busy but not rowdy pub. The room was really nicely decorated . Staff really nice. Lovely breakfast. Good value for money. There’s not much more you need for a short stay, and of course Beverly is lovely. We’ll be back

Came for the pie night. Great food with a fair price tag attached to it. I had the steak pie, big portion and lots of gravy! The chef was very attentive which is refreshing.

Front of house was nice just a few teething issues which will be sorted I am sure as they get on their feet. Will be back again.

I gave the hotel an opportunity to refund my stay before giving a bad review as I feel that is only fair however the manager couldn’t care less so here goes. This is not a hotel it is 5 rooms above a loud grotty pub. The noise was so bad I had to leave early hours to stay at a Premier Inn. The manager was too busy to talk to me today to discuss this and stated he wouldn’t refund and hung up. I am a young female and was staying here alone to enrol at the local college the next morning. I don’t know the area and was 3 hours from home. I stayed on a Thursday night in the front room which was above the bar area. I was shocked to find the bar man still up chatting and serving drinks at 1:30 am to very loud guests/punters. I was the only other person in the hotel apart from these drunk men. I did not feel comfortable going into the bar to approach them at such hour. There was no number to call in an emergency. The hotel door was locked due to a leak so my only exit or so I thought was through that bar with the drunk men. The noise was unbearable to sleep and felt I was left with no option but to leave. Thankfully the hotel door was on a twist lock so I could get out without going through the bar. I felt very vulnerable and upset being so isolated in a small village 100s of miles from home. No-where does it advertise the pub can serve till such hour yet the manager told me he could serve till 5am. If you want sleep this is not the place for you! Also very poor customer service and no compassion or concern.

We visited here after reading one or two new reviews with the new owners, and now I think they must have been fake after our experience , we had family with us so wanted somewhere nice for a decent lunch, oh god what a mistake firstly we booked a week ago and the man we spoke to was very vague, so we decided to just check he had taken our booking and no surprise it wasn’t written down, on arriving we were seated at a table that was set for someone obviously not us as there was far to many settings round the table. We ordered Sunday lunches two were pork and two beef, one of the beef arrived I can’t even begin to say what it was like, part of it was at least an inch thick and just like a cube and it was barely cooked and veg all dried up believe me my husband eats anything but he couldn’t bring himself to eat it now on to the pork I can only say it was virtually still alive with blood coming out of it, so reported it to the staff who said ok I’ll get you two more we left our cutlery on the plates only for it to be returned with the cutlery still in exactly the same place all I can say is I think the took the meat off and did something not sure what as it came back not a lot different and cold we couldn’t or should I say for the sake of our health daren’t touch any of it.everyone of our plates went back with food on and can I just say horseradish or apple sauce was never offered I can honestly say we have never ever had food so bad the menu that’s on line resembles nothing to what they have in the pub and the picture of a Sunday lunch on a Beverley site resembles nothing at all to what we were served, can I also say they knocked the price of one lunch off and to be honest found it an insult as it was all dreadful I think someone needs to go on a good hygiene course and learn how to at least cook meat without causing upset stomachs at the least .also staff need to be taught not to talk about customers while they are stood behind the bar, this isn’t a place for food at all and with all the other places in town they need to get a trained chef if they ever want to do food never again .

I must admit that from the offset of my internet booking, I had a few reservations about the Boutique Hotel and was admittedly not over enthusiastic about staying here at the Game bird. I must ADMIT that I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The place had been taken over by NEW OWNERS and is now a FAMILY RUN business. The new owner welcomed us with open arms and despite us arriving early, they booked us into our suite with no hesitation. The rooms are large and spacious and very tidy. Clearly as New owners we could see that they were still getting the hang of things but they went over and above to ensure that we were well taken care of. The Family work well together, Dad Overseeing the business, Mum overseeing the pub and the two sons oversee that the pub and guests are greeted with a warm welcome. Our overall experience was great, the atmosphere and the locals are friendly and the food was terrific. Definably good value for money and I can easily recommend the game bird for a night or two stop over. The village of Beverley is also a nice attraction with two great modern village center shopping squares. I truly enjoyed my brief two night stay. The Wifi however isn't the best we have had but is free and suitable to get done what is needed. It should be noted that the New Owners are attending to this and the evidence was clear during our stay as I personally saw technicians working on the system.
