We were fortunate to have our family book my husband and myself into Homelands for two nights. Wonderful hosts welcomed us, everything was so beautiful. We had a room at the rear, it was very quiet and in the morning we awoke to lovely views of the garden. Breakfasts were splendid with so much choice. We loved the home baked...

Beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless, this lovely b&b offers everything! Great cooked full English breakfast and buffet with various cereals, jams and spreads, fresh fruit and beautiful homemade cake. The rooms are lovely and spacious, the beds very comfortable, the towels and bathrobes fluffy and soft and the complimentary toiletries are very high quality. The new owners, Glenda and Daniele,...

Despite new owners they made me welcome as soon as I walked in the door. After a long trip from Devon a hot cup of tea was perfect. The room was cosy, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast first class with plenty of choice. Nothing was too much trouble. Good luck Glenda and Daniele, I am confident you will maintain...

As soon as we arrived Brian ushered us into the sitting room and offered tea, coffee or sherry - which after our long journey was a lovely welcome. This is definitely one of, if not the, best Guest House/B & B we have stayed in. Everything was just right, the huge comfy bed, the bright modern ensuite, the lovely big...

Lovely rooms, excellent breakfast, cordial host and a magnificent breakfast of locally sourced produce. We would certainly choose to stay here again. Close to the Bowes Museum which is definitely worth a visit.

Truly excellent service. I am always disapponted if they are booked full and I have to stay elsewhere. Breakfasts are fabulous (actually cannot recall better) and rooms are cosy and always spotlessly clean.

Choose this B&B for central locality for Pennine walk. Great breakfast and a really warm welcome. Admin excellent. We had a double and a single room. Both were warm, comfortable and clean. Lot of useful local information to hand. Recommended. We will certainly return.

Made welcome with tea/coffee and biscuits and chat from Brian (a bit early for the complimentary sherry, but saved it till later!). Five minutes walk from the Castle and town centre; on the busy main road into town, but street parking right outside and our room at the rear was perfectly quiet with lots of extra touches. Very pleasant dining...
