Overall we had a relaxing and great stay in the manor house, we had an upgrade room so had a spa bath and a room with a great view (3). The staff were attentive, polite and friendly. The food was excellent and good choices. The manor house is in keeping and has many interesting features and furniture. The spa is beautiful and relaxing, only disappointment was my massage but I guess this is the production line feeling you get in busy hotels. It didnt last the 55 mins was around 45 mins and did not have personal feel or worth the cost. It ended with 3 swipes of lots of oil around my neck and no massage in that area. The area around is vast in many beautiful mountains and Lakes. We visited Bassenthwaith, Laithwaite and Buttermere lakes all stunning and made better by great weather and snowy peaks. The Lakes distillery was worth a visit, informative and interesting tour and tasting after.

Just returned from a spa escape booking which was supposed to be a treat before the arrival of our baby. Expected unlimited spa access for the duration of the stay, as per the booking i made and as is detailed on the hotels own web site (still is). Upon arrival we were told our allocated 2hr time slot for spa access. So not the unlimited access i had booked and paid for....i had not been informed of this 'covid policy' at any point prior to arrival The spa was modern but very small and over crowded, with only 6 indoor chairs, all of which were taken up by peoples towels.. Staff were mixed, some lovely, others disinterested and clearly did'nt want to be there. Food in bistro was basic and not even good pub grub standard. Room in coch house was tiny, dated, dark and bed was hard. Accessed via a shabby, unsafe looking wooden staircase and backed onto A66. Poor nights sleep was inevitable. Overall really dissappointing stay, when i checked out, £20 was taken off the bill, only after i complained for a second time. To be honest, i found that insulting as it went no way to rectifying the false advertising of a 'spa escape' which in reality was 2hrs in a tiny, overcrowded spa at a totally inconvenient time. Do not book this package, i can't stress enough how disappointed you will be!!!

Hotel was out of this world. The room was gorgeous. The staff and food was amazing. The aqua thermal journey was unbelievable. Definitely more than a four star hotel. Cannot wait to go back. The grounds are gorgeous and inside the hotel is beautiful still having its Manor House feel

Just back from a two night stay at Appleby Manor catching up with old friends. We stayed in the Garden Rooms right opposite the spa and super convenient. Spacious, comfortable and cosy in cold November, Thoroughly enjoyed the spa with sessions booked both days. Great food to suit every taste with exceptional service from all the staff. Easy to find off the motorway and a pleasant walk (even in the rain) down to Appleby. Recommend Bojangles for mulled wine and a homemade mince pie! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. An excellent point for people meeting from all airts and pairts.
