I stayed four nights here with my family on our first staycation since lockdown. It is a beautiful site in rural Cumbria, just a two minute drive from Appleby. Despite it being quite busy, we didn't find it at all nosy and managed to get quite a bit of peace.
The mobile home we stayed in was really clean and modern. It was very cosy, particularly on an evening with the "fire" radiator. The bedrooms were very small but we still had all the room we needed for a few nights' stay.
I would also recommend walking to Ormside as you can do a little 3k loop which is very quiet and scenic.
There was a little cafe on site which served cakes and refreshments, as well as a bar and pizza place on an evening although that did seem quite pricey.
It is also definitely family friendly with a playground and outdoor pool (though pool not in use at moment).
Overall, we had a lovely stay and would love to visit again.

Had a wonderful mid week break at Wild Rose. Having never stayed in a caravan before it was quite a revelation, a real 'home from home'. The accommodation was spotless, well equipped and we had the added bonus of a super location with great views. The staff were very helpful and gave great advice on things to do. The site is clearly going through major change with a new entertainment centre under construction. Can't wait to return next year and enjoy the infinity pool!

Visited this holiday park with friends and family for one week. We were not advised by hoseasons that we needed to taking bedding so we had to ask for some. I am disappointed that we were not told until we arrived at 6 pm and no reception open to sort out. Was left to the bar staff to help us, which they did. Swimming pool has obviously not been used for some while as looked derelict again we were not told that this would not be avail. Shop is poor. On the positive side the rest of the site was clean and tidy. Food is avail via a hot food van and drinks from an outside bar which we used and were good value. Found plenty to do in the area and visited several pubs and cafes in Appleby for snacks and meals. I would recommend this park with the clean caravan and site but you need to make your own entertainment and go out and about.

We visited several times during 2020, it went more down hill each time, it’s such a shame because it could be such a lovely place.

The accommodation isn’t cleaned properly, the toilet blocks aren’t cleaned properly, the cleaners are young girls who spend the minimum amount of time cleaning.

The paddling pool was never open, it was full of green stagnant water with more rubbish floating in it each time we went to the site.
The amusements were closed, the on-site shop was none existent, there’s nowhere onsite to buy any essentials, luckily Appleby is only 10min drive away.
There is an ice cream shop, which is quite expensive and a bar which serves food. Most of the time we were there, the bar was closed because of the pandemic, but there was a takeaway van serving food and another one serving drinks, which turned out to be much better than the bar itself! When the bar was open, the service was poor, the tables were dirty, you wouldn’t think coronavirus existed in this venue, staff were not wearing masks, tables were so close together. some of the staff had a terrible attitude, there was a sign at the door asking you to wait, but staff just walked past us ignoring us. At times the bar was extremely busy, no one was sticking to any of the restrictions, It did not feel covid safe at all! We did use the takeaway service a few times and the food was nice and good portions. It’s a shame about the staff and the lack of covid safety and of course the hygiene of the place.
There is a small park, which is for younger children, but because there is nothing for older children to do, they take over the park, running wild, on bikes, sitting around on the equipment, so the younger ones can’t play on it and the are quite intimidating, but it’s because there’s nothing at all for them to do.

The cleanliness, the up keep of the site, the staff , the facilities everything, went more and more down hill each time we visited. It’s a shame, because it could be such a lovely place, instead it just looks run down!

I won’t be returning this year.

Appreciate that this is a busy time for sites etc at the moment, but now more than ever they need to be at the top of their game re cleanliness. This is absolutely not the case at this park. Firstly have to say all of the staff encountered were excellent and the touring pitch itself was lovely so no issues there. The site is generally well kept and nicely located with areas to walk dogs etc. However, and to be quite frank, its a wonder it is still allowed to operate given the current Covid-19 guidelines. The toilet block is in desperate need of updating and honestly, it is disgusting. Only observed this being cleaned once on a morning, throughout our 3 night stay one of the soap dispensers had no soap throughout, as did the hand sanitiser at the door - very important as this is a frequent touch point. When coming to the chemical emptying point at the end of the stay I have to honestly say I simply have never stayed on a touring site with such a disgusting facility - the flush system seems to be inadequate and there was faeces floating around the bowl, the floor was disgusting and to top it off the hand sanitiser, an absolute must given the frequent touch point of this area didn't even contain a bottle of sanitiser. On a final note, I think the definition of social distancing should be looked up. Really looked forward to this stay and had seen some fantastic reviews but honestly have no intention of returning and would strongly recommend its avoided until the hygiene and toilet block issues are addressed.

Had a amazing short break at Wild Rose in a Harripod.

Kids loved the cute pod and it was well equipped with tv (lots of the channels were very static but we aren’t here for tv) fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle.
Pod was immaculate and the toilet and shower block has just been totally renovated since we were there last two years ago.
The pods are now car free too which is fab for letting the kids play and not worry about any vehicles driving through.

Outdoor pool was closed which was a shame as it was 28 degrees one day and the playpark is great abs full of kids for children to play with.

Bar on site is very reasonable and staff are lovely.
They are building an indoor pool so hope it’s ready for us returning next year.

Can’t wait!

We pulled our tourer on for the the 2020 season (before covid hit). We moved from Northumberland and really regretted the move. This site was recommended to us by so many people, turns out the owners have changed since they stayed.

The site is not maintained, we were told the shop would be open for the season and it never was, the machines in the laundry never worked, there was one play park over run by older kids who had nowhere else to go. These kids parents sat around drinking all day and their kids were running a mock, swearing and being anti social. We have young children and everytime we went we needed to talk to the other children and their behaviour.

The night warden is supposed to work, however, we are not even sure who he was. He never answered the mobile nor returned calls or texts. One night at the bar one of the members of staff was laughing about people ringing the mobile, blatantly not answering it, telling others he was having a drink. I assume he was the warden.

In terms of cleanliness, we stayed in worse, but after a few days of restrictions for the first lockdown, almost all hand sanitisers were empty.

We have now pulled off and gone back to Northumberland. Until the owners change or there is a serious investigation by Harrison, this site should be avoided. It is such a shame as the potential there is immense.

We won't be back and would not recommend. Read and listen to the most recent reviews. So many tourers pulled there vans off and I really doubt it was due to covid.

Booked a Hive at wildrose based on a recommendation, what can I say… it did NOT disappoint. It was our first time in a hive and also our first time at wildrose. Site was very clean & tidy. Staff and visitors were very friendly. We were made to feel right at home from arriving. We had lunch at the pennine view bar food was lovely no complaints at all.
Had a little look in the little shop on site looked canny, although we did not buy anything as we had everything we needed. Our hive was bigger than I expected, has everything you need for a short stay there. Clean, tidy. Very quiet as we stayed mid week which is always a bonus no disturbance from anyone or anything. We visited Rutter force (walk was only 20 minutes to get there) easy to find basically 2 roads (all sign posted) not a lot water there as recently been very hot & hardly rain. We also visited Appleby (6 minute drive) also easy to find. Our first time in Appleby, very nice little town. Parked in a disk zone, very easy to get a disc. 1st shop was successful. Stopped off at the crown & cushion for a bite to eat … OMG the food was lovely & plentiful. Not badly priced either.
Over all we will definitely be returning to wildrose as it did not disappoint. We would stay in any type of accommodation there. The pods look amazing esp.. the Gemini (look like little tree houses) they don’t have toilets inside the pods but we did have a quick look at the on site public toilets and showers out of curiosity and I must say they were very clean indeed.

Signature Lodge with Hot Tub + 2 pets Great 3 night break with the family. Our lodge was spotlessly clean considering it’s a pet friendly Lodge. Bedding, towels, dressings gowns + disposable slippers provided. The only things we need to bring were tea towels and cleaning liquids/sprays for the kitchen, which we were reminded on to bring by our courtesy phone call from Harrison Holidays the day before our trip.
Reception staff were quickly handling the newcomers with park information, keys and details / map to get to our Lodge. Hot tub was up and running too, no waiting for it to warm up, Lodge was set up for our arrival with a lovely bottle of Prosecco for us to start our celebrations with. Lovely touch Wild Rose 🥰
Dined Fri, Sat in the restaurant and enjoyed the food, with lots to choose from, from lighter bites to traditional meals and dessert options all tasting great and reasonably priced and they do take outs as well. Good range of drinks again reasonably priced bar/restaurant area clean and inviting, tables cleared by staff on a regular basis.
2 pools, one inside and outside, which we didn’t partake in but looked clean and fairly new. As well as children’s playground which seemed to be popular.
All areas apart from the swimming pool and cafe upstairs, are pet friendly but they need to be on leads. A dog park is available but we couldn’t use it due it being boggy thanks to the lovely March April rain 🥴 we’ve been having.
However there were a few areas where a bit of improvement would be advantageous to future visitors:-
Because of the popularity and size of Wild Rose it seems some of its amenities struggle to cope over busier periods. There are building works going on which didn’t hamper our stay but the main carpark seemed small and not clearly marked which led to people parking all over the place.
The restaurant gets full around usual eating times as we found out on Sunday. And that’s when we took advantage of the takeaway option, which didn’t compromise on the taste quality and again we really enjoyed our Sunday lunch back at our Lodge.
If you forget essentials you’ll struggle with options from the site shop as it doesn’t stock up on much, well that was as far as we could tell whilst there.
The beds, or the mattresses are not the most comfy beds I’ve slept on, and if anything could have made our stay better it would be to have a comfortable nights sleep.
Overall we loved our stay and are planning to visit again soon as even the little niggles as mentioned didn’t over shadow our stay. Thank you Wild Rose Park you deserve your 5 stars and can’t wait to come back.

We cannot recommend this campsite highly enough. Fantastic staff who will did everything possible to ensure our stay was perfect. We booked through hoseasons who failed to advise that the 2 heated pools were not open in June. The 2 ladies on reception recommend local areas to visit where our two children could go paddling in the river, and did everything possible to ensure we felt comfortable on our stay.(sorry if wrong names but sure it was shelly and elina) Due to the mix up with our accommodation they upgraded our stay. Nothing was a problem. We stayed in a brand new caravan with 2 separate bedrooms, the finish was a very hight standed with everything we needed...The onsite restaurant had lovely food and drinks, the dogs were even acounted for, with water bowls and dog walking field and even treats on arrival for them. We would definitely be happy to stay here again. Even bumped into a neighbour from home who has been on the site for over 15 years. Bit of construction work going on at the moment but it looks like it will be worth it when completed. Everything is at a high standard. 5 star

Hi Sarah, yes the platinum 3 beds have a picnic bench out on the decking. There is a small shop located upstairs in the complex building. Many Thanks Wild Rose Park

Buyer pays £35 to change lead guest details and £20 admin fees they pay this after I've rang Hoseasons up and informed them I've sold the holiday and I give the buyers name, then the buyer rings Hoseasons up with the reference number that I give and they then change the name over to themselves.

We stayed in a luxury lodge, which had 2 double extra king sized beds, each had its own toilet, shower and washbasin. The kitchen was fully fitted with a gas hob and an oven, dish washer, fridge, freezer and all mod cons. 52” TV with wi-fi and L shaped very comfortable seating. The new facilities on the Park are excellent include swimming pool, restaurant etc.
