Very pleasant Victorian house which has been lovingly restored with lots of character and very comfortable rooms. Made to feel very welcome on arrival with tea and cake and Ray was full of interesting information. Very handy for the excellent Stag Inn. Super veggie breakfast with homemade bread and lots of fresh fruit. Ray had a couple of dogs which... More

Arrived tired, freezing and wet after tramping over Cross Fell and the Dun Fells in freezing weather with snow storms in May. In Hall Croft there was no heating on and it was freezing - nowhere to dry wet clothes and the only way to get warm was to get in bed at 4pm. Eventually I found an electric radiator... More

I am sorry that this guest was unhappy with his stay at Hall Croft. Unfortuanetly he made none of his dissatisfaction known to us - had he done so we would have done our best to adress his problems. Other reviews are highly favourable and we pride ourselves on caring for our guests in whatever way possible. There have been... More

We had a one night stay at the end of our walk on the pennine way. Hall croft is a lovely place to stay. The house is beautiful, full of character and charm as are Ray and Frei, Hall Croft's owners. The Pub in Dufton is also wonderful - particularly for a winters meal after a day of walking. Great... More

Overnight stop on Pennine Way. This B&B is in an excellent location close to the pub. We were made very welcome. Rooms were large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Don't be put off by the "vegetarian" apology - everything was perfect. The pub is just 100 yds away for dinner in the evening. Host and hostess both very wlecoming.

We stayed one night at Hall Croft and were very pleased. The room and bed were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good too. Frei and Ray Walker are very pleasant and the house is situated in a wonderful spot. Our room was very spacious and had an ensuite with a shower. Unlike a previous reviewer we found a... More

First class. Rooms spotless and comfortable, fresh baked bread for breakfast and great date and walnut cake on arrival. Very hospitable, nothing too much trouble. We stayed around the time of the Horse Fair which makes eateries bit crowded. Good advice too on our section of the Pennine Way.

I booked my room as a base for a day walk on the Pennine Way. Frei and Ray were welcoming and obliging. My room - one of three - was a nice double with a large private bathroom. The other two rooms are, I believe, ensuite. Non-vegetarians - like me - should not be put off by the meat free... More
