Spent a weekend at the Boat Inn recently and were impressed with the standard of accommodation. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful modern en suite with large walk in shower. Went to the The Shed bar in the hotel, which was so cosy and homely, with a real local atmosphere. Our evening meal in the restaurant was excellent....

This inn is consistently very good for both food and real ale. Their soups are exceedingly good, and the food is very good. We always pop in for lunch every time we are up in Aboyne. There was an added bonus but I didn't check this time. I could see the track was still in position. Ask them to see...

Stayed here with my wife and baby just one night but we wished it had been longer. Our room was stylish, very clean and comfortable, also nice and warm given it was freezing outside. The staff were all very helpful and were particularly accommodating regarding our 5 month old baby providing a cot at no extra charge and keeping a...

My sister booked rooms for her wedding guests earlier this year. Yet when they called up the staff said there was no space. This caused loads of inconvenience for quite a few of the guests. The day after the wedding the manager called my sister to charge them full price for the empty rooms not used. This was a clear...

Delicious food and superb tastefully renovated bedroom in a great setting. Ideal for a stroll along the riverbank. A hidden gem that will not disappoint. Good selection of beers too, with a separate bar from dining area.

Dropped into The Boat for the bosses (wife) birthday treat and can honestly say that given the occasion the food and the service was top drawer. The restaurant was busy and the staff were fully occupied serving diners but at no stage was the service anything less that excellent. There is a wide choice of starters, mains and sweets and...

If you visit this eatery with kids, muddy boots and dogs after reading the welcome sign outside be prepared to be turned away. Dogs are only allowed in public bar, children only in the restaurant/lounge if you turn up with both you won't be allowed in. Very disappointing after a walk around Glen Taner not to be able to enjoy...

Loved our stay, wish it could have been longer. Our room was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Obviously a lot of effort and thought was put into the plans and decor for the rooms. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Scotland beside a river. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty in a lovely restaurant/bar area. Staff were great...

We were visiting friends who have just moved to Aboyne, and stayed overnight at the Boat Inn. Wonderful welcome from friendly staff. Room on the ground floor was a little on the warm side , but the window was openable. The decor is black which is a little unusual, but the en suite was very clean and modern. The breakfast...

We have eaten here a few times over the years and have always had a very pleasant experience. This is a great 'pub' to eat in. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is well made - a good menu catering for Gluten free vegetarians nut alerted etc. The seating is comfortable with plenty of tables for dinners. The...
