We visited The Ocean for the third time and this time it was days before the country was being shut down due to Coronavirus. Despite Lynn losing many bookings she provided a cheerful and positive outlook and made us very welcome. We were her only guests for the first night.
We stayed in room 3 which is slightly more expensive but well worth the extra and it gives a marvellous view over the harbour. It is also in the first floor which is reached by only two short flights of stairs. A spotless room with a comfortable bed, newly furnished en-suite and two armchairs by the bay window enabling us to view the pleasure and fishing bots passing right outside. Lynn had provided home made cake in our room and also in the guest lounge along with a full tea and coffee tray.
Although specific toiletries aren’t provided there is a basket in the room containing things you might have forgotten which are free to use.
There is an outside terrace with tables and chairs accessed through the guest lounge which also overlooks the harbour.
The breakfast was beautifully cooked and lots of it with a very good choice of dishes. There is a cooler provided in the dining room which you can use for wine, beer, milk etc.
We can’t thank Lynn enough for the effort she puts in to making this small hotel a real home from home and we hope to return again when the country is back to some sort of normality.

Myself, my partner and my in laws stayed over the bank holiday weekend and WOW doesn’t even come close to explaining how we feel about our stay. We were made to feel welcome instantly and Maxine the owner is fabulous, she is the most loveliest and down to earth person we have ever met. Maxine will do anything within her capabilities to make you feel welcome, help you with anything and she wants you to feel like you are at home.
Maxine is unique and has a vision for the B and B and her passion shines through and it’s like she wants you to share in her vision, she is an absolute star and the b and b’s greatest asset, if you come away not wanting to go back then you haven’t understood Maxine as a person and her amazing talent and her absolutely lovely personality.
We have been visiting Weymouth for years and it is by far the best room we have ever stayed in and it’s the most relaxed place we have ever stayed. The B and B is unique and Maxine is putting her own stamp on it and from what we saw of one of the newly decorated rooms, when Maxine finishes the B and B it will be absolutely unique and will stand out for all the right reasons, it will be hard to find any other B and B that makes your soul smile like this one does.
We stayed in room 3 with a harbour view (absolutely fabulous), and a very comfy bed, bathroom lovely and clean, there is fresh milk downstairs in the dining room fridge in small glass bottles which you can take to your room as you need them and return when you have finished, there is also water in the fridge for you to use as well. There is a honesty bar which you can use and a lovely terrace to sit out on and watch the boats go by.
Breakfast is amazing, there is cereal, fruit, yogurt and you can toast your own bread (which is better because everyone likes toast done a certain way). You serve yourself coffee and tea from the side in the dining room and there is fresh orange juice available too. Maxine has some staff who help her out in the mornings and they are absolutely lovely and attentive.
My in laws stayed in room 2 and they absolutely loved it, I can’t praise our stay enough, we absolutely loved it, Maxine is amazing and we have already booked for next year, can’t wait to go back. We may have arrived as strangers but we feel like we left as friends and as a host it’s an amazing gift to have to make your guests feel that way xx

Had a fantastic weekend at The Ocean Guest House, we felt so welcome from the moment we spoke with Lynn and Clive. We stayed in a stunning double room with en suite overlooking the harbour, the bed was so comfortable and the room cosy and warm with tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer and a basket that contained most of things that you would need had you forgotten to pack some essentials for you wash bag, (a really thoughtful idea)

A fridge in the dinning room for guests to cool a bottle of wine, and the cakes.

Breakfast was fantastic quality, having stayed in many hotels and guest houses, I would honestly say that it was the best breakfast with multiple choice you could ask for, all served fresh, the poached eggs are simply the best ever!!

Lynn gave us tips on the best places to eat and spend the evening should we wish, told us about some of the local walks and places to see that I have never seen before.

Thanks Lynn & Clive, hope to get back for the Vet weekend.

Dear Matthew and Theresa, what a super review. Thank you so much. The weather wasn’t great but I was impressed with how much you did. I am so glad the building work didn’t ruin your stay. I hope to see you at veterans weekend. Have a fantastic holiday and a very happy 50th. Lynn and Clive

Just returned from an Easter weekend break at the Ocean Guest House - honestly wonderful B&B and fantastic location! We felt right at home due to the amazing lady of the house Maxine and her team, who couldn't do enough for us to make our stay so comfortable. It was just what we needed. The bed was so comfortable, with homely touches like a cosy blanket, thick curtains and plush carpet. The room, including the ensuite bathroom, was kept to a high standard of cleanliness by the team, surpassing that of other places we have stayed. You are also treated to wonderful views in any of the rooms, from either side of the house. To top it off, the Ocean Guest house provides a central location, close to the beach, shops, arcades, fair and restaurants. Also not far from sightseeing activities such as the Jurassic Coast. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of fresh fruit and juices also provided. Thank you Maxine and team for making our stay perfect, we will definitely be back again!

The guest house is in a brilliant location, beach to the front and harbour to the rear. On arrival Lynn was very welcoming, she explained where breakfast was served and how it worked. Home made cake was available also on arrival. Lynn apologised that she didn't have any parking permits left for us but she sold us parking tickets which meant we paid half the price request at the meter in the pavillion car park.
It was a last minute booking for us so unfortunately we got the top floor which was a bit of a hike but wow the views were to die for. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfy everything you needed was in the rooms. We stayed 3 nights but wished it could have been longer.
Breakfast was cooked to order, absolutely delicious. My grandchildren especially enjoyed the pancakes with nutella.
Lynn is a 5 star host and nothing is too much trouble, she goes above and beyond what is required. We will be back definitely stay here again.
Thank you Lynn for making our break memorable.

This guest house has great views front and back, lovely Landlady who really makes you feel welcome. Rooms are very clean with en-suite shower and toilet. I enjoyed my stay with Maxine and have recommended it to all my friends. The price of the accommodation is very reasonable since my visit was at the peak of holiday season. 😍 There is a terrace overlooking the harbour where you can watch the ships pass by lots of local restaurants, what's not to like!

We have stayed in b&b and hotels in Weymouth many times but never enjoyed one so much. The reason being the warm friendly welcome from Lynne the owner. It was like visiting her at home and staying with friends. On arrival there was home made cake to have with a cup of tea just what you need. As she was full she was able to help us out with reduced parking behind the pavilion. The room was clean and comfortable with a beach view. One of the pluses is the decking out the back over looking the harbour and the life boat. It was nice to sit outside with a drink and chat to other guests. We met lovely people who were all returns of many times and we could see why. Lynne was so friendly and nothing was to much. Breakfast was a really good meal with everything you could want and more if you needed it. We've booked again for next month and next July. This is a place to stay that must not be missed if you want to meet other guest and make a friend in your hostess. Can't wait to come back. Thank you Lynne and guests.

From the time my husband and I arrived to the time we left we had a great stay 😊 the room was over looking the harbour and we loved it. It was very clean, well presented. It had everything we needed. There was tea, coffee, sugar in the room and milk was in the fridge downstairs if you needed it, you just helped yourself 👍We had a full English breakfast in the morning which was excellent. There was toast, cereals if you wanted them. Also There was fruit in a basket for you to take. Fruit juice in jugs. What more could you want.!!! The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. There is an honesty bar, excellent idea 😊 The host Maxine made up a sangria for my husband and I and it was great. Marine is such a lovely person, she makes you feel so welcome and relaxed. Yes we will return to this excellent guest house 😘
